Let me just echo the group and say "wow!"  Time paradoxes make my head spin, but your diagrams did a nice job of explaining everything.

Ditto. I can't even get past the first paragraph without getting cornfused. But I love reading every bit of it. Just think what the writers could have come up with if they'd put half as much thought into what they were actually doing.

I have to add one more thing. Even though I thought that it all went over my head, today as I watched the resurrection of Angelique, I felt I understood it (her reactions to Quentin's answers) so much better because of what I've read in this thread.  It kicks the entertainment value up a notch. I am really enjoying the show so much more now than I did the last go-round.

Current Talk '02 II / Re: And Jaclyn Smith as Victoria Winters
« on: November 02, 2002, 02:18:19 AM »
I'm one of those people who thinks that AM was irreplaceable as Viki. BUT I do think that J. Smith would have been able to take over the role without much audience protest. It would be great to see a picture of JS during that time frame to see what she looked like. It would help to get a visual image of JS as VW.

You know, a few weeks ago when they did the Sabrina meets the werewolf flashback, I played with the thought that Lisa Richards might have made a good AM ( as Victoria Winters) replacement. She had all that hair & sweetness going on.

Dom

PS - I do think Kate Jackson could have taken over the role as well, in fact I have no doubt that she could have pulled it off better than either B. Durkin or C. groves.

PPS - Can you imagine poor JS having to play opposite her hubby R. Davis? Being mauled 24/7? Maybe she purposely blew the audition! ;)

My two all-time favorite "SCI-FI" (and I use the term very loosely) movies are, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman [1958] and Curse of the Faceless Man [1958] - admittedly, two of the worst films ever made. These films were staples on Chiller Theater, a Sat. night B-horror movie showcase that aired in the New York Tri-state area when I was a kid in the 60s. The lesser known, Curse of the Faceless Man, was basically a re-telling of the Mummy set in Italy with a volcanic ash-encrusted "preserved" slave who comes back to life after being dug up in an excavation, searches for (and finds!) the reincarnation of his one true love (of course, killing almost all who get in his way).  I have never met anyone who remembers this flick. This movie scared the crap out of me as kid. The film's score was very effective!

This may be a bit of a stretch, but I know that Naomi inherited the Old House. She mentioned that fact when she gave the Old House to Barn & Ange as a wedding gift. A will may have been mentioned but I can't honestly say that I remember hearing the word.

Frankenstein's monster gets my vote. I still to this day have recurring nightmares (at least once a year, if not more) that he is chasing me.

I've had only two other recurring dreams during my lifetime. One is trying to escape an air raid. I always have to squeeze through a hole (of some sort) to get to safety but I can never squeeze back out through the hole (I hate that dream). The other one is fabulous. I dream that I can float. It's always like I am an ice skater without the ice or the skates. Usually I am either dancing or walking and I just take off. It's a euphoric feeling.

Any dream analysts out there? The common thread appears to be the issue of escape. But what do I know?

Don't bother, Cassandra, here they are. I can't decide which piece would be more suitable for which mansion? I'm leaning toward the red for both because the white one comes across as a bit too modern for either Collinwood or The Old House. What do you think?

dom

P.S. Just think, if Paul had turned out to be a good husband, that could be our Liz descending into the newly remodeled foyer of Collinwood.

Hi Bette!

I'm in Tracy, just a few hours up the road from Madera. I love Fresno! (Bet you never heard that much during your tenure in the area, eh?) lol. I almost moved to Fresno but that relationship didn't work out - the one that got away. <sigh> But I made out alright.

I love Tracy, it's the first place I've ever lived in my 44 years where my neighbors actually welcomed me to the neighborhood, and with home-grown veggies, pies, etc. to boot!

I think Baranabas was being rhetorical, sending out a clever (if not cryptic) warning to Magda. He let her know (practically in the same breath) that he is aware that she is playing one side against the other. You know, like, "I can be your best friend or your worst enemy." I'd say that is pretty much the atmosphere on the Collinwood estate at the moment. Of course, that is usually the mood during any time period at Collinwood.

Northern California, about 75 miles (give or take) east of San Francisco, in the San Joaquin Valley, salad bowl of the world! - by way of Long Island, New York (Suffolk County). Asbury Park (little Beruit - I love it!) New Jersey, where I spent my Dark Shadows years. 5 more New York locations, and 6 more in New Jersey. Marathon, Florida. And Arizona (Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, & Apache Junction). Geez, I bet I've got the Rakosi's beat!

Well traveled but not worldly Dom (who may have been a gypsy and a tramp - but never a thief!)

Strip poker!

Sorry ladies, this is an all-male party. Let's see, my invitation list would read as follows:

Carl (of course)
Quentin (of course)
Tim Shaw (main course - that one's for you, Tuffie ;))
Edward (hey, they didn't call him "Big Lou" for nothin', honey)
Aristede (who gives new meaning to the words "dancing lady")
Dirk Wilkins (who arrives nude and very agitated, and starts manhandling everyone well before the deck leaves the box)
Gregory Trask (purely for entertainment value)
Evan Hanley (who flatly refuses to remove any clothing after losing his first hand, has a hissy fit, grabs his hat and leaves in an indignant huff)
Count Petofi (who calls it quits after losing his second hand - okay, that was bad)
Barnabas (just to make RobinV jealous - who loves ya babe! ;))
Charles Delaware Tate (possessed by the spirit of, Tom of Finland)
King Johnny (dealer)

(A very "happy") dom
