Current Talk '03 I / Re: Traskian logic?  Please explain
« on: February 15, 2003, 09:17:09 PM »
Edward is most likely still legally married to Laura. I doubt that Edward divorced her or has had her declared legally dead (family name pride, etc.). And if the coast were legally clear for Charity to marry Edward, it could be contested (by Quentin, if need be) because Edward is mentally ill. Trask the elder also considers Jamison bonkers as well (and therefore not a threat). And if I'm not mistaken, Judith has willed all to Trask (through trickery with help from Evan). I don't know if Quentin would have a legal leg to stand on but perhaps by having him married to Charity, Trask could get rid of him too and in turn would have gotten rid of the last possible threat to his taking complete control of the Colllins' holdings, being any claim Quentin has to the family fortune would automatically (and legally) be transferred to his wife upon his death.

And after all is said and done, I doubt that even Trask would assume that he could get Charity to marry Edward. He is smart (or is it evil) enough to know that his young daughter would more likely be a lot less resistant to marrying the younger and more dashing Quentin.

Ah yes. Names I grew up with in Madera. My favorite Valley mispronunciations are Tulare (mispronounced as Tu-lar) and Visalia (mispronounced as Viz-alia.) Oh Dom, you really do take me back to my childhood DS years.

I know the feeling Bette, that's how I feel when Raineypark & Robin V. mention cities & towns on Long Island. I moved to CA in my thirties and caused a lot of laughter by trying to pronounce most of the Spanish named cites. My first blunder was La Jolla (pronounced - La Hoya) but I, having never taken a Spanish lesson pronounced it as, La Joe-la, [lghy]. I still get teased about that.

My personal favorite is Lake Ronkonkoma (just TRY to guess where the accent goes!)....the bottomless lake where the Sachem's daughter allegedly waits to drag boaters into the murky depths.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I was going to list a few more until I realized that I could pronounce them but couldn't spell them, lol. I'll never forget the ribbing I took the day I asked where SOY-oh-set (Syosset - pronounced, sigh-AH-set) was.

My fave is the tale of the man who pronounced Yosemite, YO-se-might.

dom (who resides in the San Joaquin - pronounced, San-wah-KEEN - valley [I really messed up that one with - San-Joe-uh-KWIN]) ::)

The important thing is that you are giving kitty a home.

Let us know what you name him, Teresa.

Hi Teresa,

Good luck with the new kitty. It may be too late but I heard on the radio that cats that are declawed are more likely to bite because their main defense (claws) are gone. This would not be a good thing  in your case being that your kitty has FIV. Something to think about.

Hi Patti,

I remember buying the Quentin Postcards that came out but I always kept stuff like that hermetically sealed (so to speak) lol. Never had the lunchbox - didn't know it existed; too old for lunchboxes at the time. I bought the teen mag's that would have DS in them, one of the games (Barn - I think), the Ross books, the LP, and the trading cards. I didn't know anyone who watched the show. I had to wait 30 years before I found others who like the show - which is why I bow before my computer.

PS - The only picture I ever had in my high school locker was a picture of Bette Midler. [blshy]

I don't think Aristede is gay, considering the way he was turned-on by Angelique. I do think that Petofi is an abusive father figure for Aristede, who obviously grew up being abused and is comfortable (for lack of a better word) being in that subserviant role. I know at some point we learn that Aristede can hardly bare to think of a life without Petofi, telling him how to live it.

I haven't seen much of HODS, but there must be pictures of him hanging 'cause Ringo has the picture on that funny magazine cover he did a couple of weeks ago about David.  Remember?  LOL

I remember...now. [blshy]
