Thanks again! Especially enjoyed the photos of Karlan & Storm.

d.

PS - Who are the two men in the first photo? (The younger of the two looks very familiar.) And the man in the last On Stage photo?

Current Talk '03 II / Re:David's Dream Blooper?
« on: September 03, 2003, 09:37:14 PM »
Yes, I saw and heard this. It confused me, and I'd wondered the same thing. It was either a blooper or the writers hadn't established the Flora Character on paper yet and had him call her Elizabeth. Which begs the question:

Does anyone have any idea how far in advance storyline concepts were drawn up and how far in advance to airing were scripts written? I would imagine the writers used general storyline concept to follow as a guide. Though as we've often seen, nothing is written in stone on DS. So much happened to force a change in plot direction; ratings, actors' sudden departures for other roles, vacations, tantrums, what have you...

Thanks, Robin!

Tell us, did the actors who played their original roles fall back into character vocally?

Wasn't making fun of your post, Terry. There is an unwritten 13th step that is an inside joke to those in 12-step programs, which made your post hysterical (to me).

I watched the Secret Storm for a spell and the only thing I can remember from it was the first scene I ever saw. It was Clarice's character playing that Jo Stafford record. I never knew it was Clarice. How interesting! I remember that she was playing the record and then I belive she was murdered and when she fell to the floor (or during the struggle) she knocked into the turntable and the record started skipping and the scene faded to black. It was the saddest thing I ever saw on TV to date and I remember being somewhat depressed about it. Either Clarice's acting was so good that I knew from that one scene that she was a sympathetic character or maybe I had seen a few episodes before that one to know enough to feel sorry for her. I started watching the show to see who killed her or to see if he got caught. I can't remember if we saw the murderer at the time of the struggle. I've never forgotten it, or the song. It wasn't until six years later that I finally learned the song title and that it was recorded by Jo Stafford. Now 33 years later I find out the actress who played the part; Our very own "Mrs. Johnson". Too cool. Thanks MB. Another childhood mystery solved.

dom (who has to go play that song and remember when)

PS - This must be my week. Yesterday I received a .wav of the Peyton Place TV theme which I've been humming for the last 35 years but have never been able to locate.

Anyone interested in hearing an old TV theme you never thought you'd ever hear again, click here: http://freespace.virgin.net/m.ashall/Themes.htm and you won't be disappointed!

Am I the only sinner in this bunch? [lol2]
(Where's Ringo when you need him?! ;) )

Not only are these kids too old, but the "music box type" music to cast a spell theme is a little tired as well. Liked Josette's theme better.

Current Talk '03 II / Re:Guest Stars?
« on: August 25, 2003, 11:19:31 PM »
The Supremes, as Leviathan slayers by day and Blue Whale performers by night. LOL.

But seriously: Actors like Agnes Moorehead as Bathia Mapes (was Bathia Mapes the actress or the character?), Bette Davis as Grandmamama Edith, etc. would have been fab. It would have been a ratings coup and a whole lot of fun to see some big names in the three day type roles that often cropped up during the series. Julianka (Natalie Wood?), Portia Fitzsimmons, Madame Findley (Joan Crawford?), Mrs. Hopewell (Barbara Hale?), Sandy (Sally Fields?), Buzz (Michael Parks?), Michael, Garth Blackwood, and all the "ladies" Barn met at the docks...

It might be fun to make of list of these "cameo" characters from the series and fill in the blanks representing possible actors for the roles. Unfortunately, my memory isn't very good when it comes to this kind of stuff.

dom (who has less memory than a 1984 computer)

PS - I wonder if some of these "big names" could have pulled it off in DC's live-to-tape method?

PPS - This is off-thread, but it would have been great if Alexandra Moltke could have returned in the role Lara Parker had in 1970PT. That would really have messed with Barnabas' head and given the fans a real treat, not to mention AM getting to play the villan she always wanted to.
