Current Talk '04 I / Re:How will this affect the new DS?
« on: February 17, 2004, 09:19:54 PM »
While we're in an optimistic mood... ;D ...it could also be that as "hot" as Mr. Wells is right now in network land, the PTB at WB might be feeling pretty confident that a Wells project is all but a safe bet/sure thing. Hopefully they've forgotten that several of Steven Speilberg's (sp?) TV projects went bust, lol.

d.

PS - This is so exciting! I wonder if Wells is only contracted for the pilot script or if he (and his) would be writing for the show on a weekly basis? So many variables!

Thanks for sharing a look-see of some of your collection, Robert. There is a lot of stuff in your photo album I've never seen before, it was a real treat!

I guess this is as good a spot as any to ask; Is it known whether or not the actors are the one's who submitted the signatures that were used for these cards?

Thanks for the info, Robert. I think I may look into purchasing it. I'm not much of a reader but I like to collect DS books (especially if they have pictures, lol). I've never even picked up a concordance, I should check one out the next time I am at a Fest.

The History of Dark Shadows I would give my left arm for. It deals with my favorite part of the series.

Again, thanks,
d.

Robert, I've never heard of the "Introduction to Barnabas" book. If you wouldn't mind, could you tell me a bit about it?

Save some $$$ and build your own....

I noticed you could buy them unpainted and paint them yourself. That could be fun but it's not "my thang". At least Ang could be made to look a bit prettier. Could be a fun activity at an infomal DS gathering.

dom...still lovin that Julia figure!

Early Liz Stoddard is my favorite character, with several other characters running a very close second.

It was my first-ever Fest. It was in L.A. California, a year or two before the Vegas Fest. I didn't know a soul and hadn't found on-line fandom yet. Though I was a bit lonely, I was still thrilled to be there. I think it was Sunday morning (last Fest day) and I was having breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Louis and his troop got up to leave and I noticed him. I didn't want to disturb him to let him know how much I enjoyed his acting talent and to thank him for sharing it with us all. I felt that this was his "personal" time and it would have been inapproprate to "bother" him. But I did watch him the whole time he was in my view. Anyway...as he approached to pass by my table I guess he could see it in my eyes and he winked at me. Definitely one of the highlghts of that Fest for me. I know it doesn't sound like much but to me at that time and under those circumstances, I felt that he knew what I was thinking and acknowledged and showed his appreciation via that wink.

My other fond memory concerning Louie is of a personal note he sent me (and another Forums member) thanking us for each of our posts (on another BB)  regarding how much we enjoyed his performances on the show, etc. A third member at the time had copied our posts and presented them to him to read, which resulted in his sending his notes of thanks to us. It came out of the blue and was so special to me. Made me luv Louie all the more.

He is sorely missed by this DS fan.

Hi, while we're on the subject, how does one go about finding out what others have written about Thayer, let's say, in their autobiographies for example? I haven't a clue of how to go about it.

Thanks,
dom
