Just a friendly reminder...

Taken from the Forums' Guidlines

3. Debate should be kept on a non-personal basis. Flaming and name-calling will not be allowed. It is never appropriate to attack, criticize, or condemn another poster. Retaliation, sharp reproof and cynicism are to be avoided. Disagreement is a natural occurrence, but as stated above, should be done in a respectful manner. Likewise, these disagreements should not be continued beyond the normal limits of interesting discourse. Argument for argument's sake is not welcome.

4. If a poster feels wronged, slighted, or offended by another poster, these disagreements should be taken up in private e-mail between the posters. These disagreements may also be brought to the forum moderator, if necessary, but members are strongly encouraged to solve these problems among themselves off-board.

Thanks,
dom

Current Talk '04 I / Re:Why Was The Original DS Cancelled?
« on: April 30, 2004, 10:31:06 PM »
It's also been mentioned that the cast, crew, and creators were pretty much ready to move on to bigger and better things. Don't know if that was stated on or off the record though. Or hear-say, or just somene's guess/opinion (but I know it's "been said" lol.) I believe the ratings were on the rise and nowhere near their all-time low. So I'd be inclined to remove the ratings factor from the equation.

Hopefully I'll be corrected if wrong, Misty. :)

Current Talk '04 I / Re:Are Focus Groups An Enemy Of Art?
« on: April 28, 2004, 07:23:34 PM »
And the best example I know of in which a focus group (preview audience) was dead wrong and ignored by the "creators" in favor of staying true to their original vision, is The Mary Tyler Moore Show. It was (one of) the lowest rated preview audience shows of all time (according to all involved). And the rest, as they say, is history.

Current Talk '04 I / Re:Christopher Pennock
« on: April 28, 2004, 08:16:53 AM »
I wouldn't say I disagree with your enxcellet choice of Pennock, but my vote for most versatile would go to Nancy Barrett. Her role as Carolyn alone had three or four facets unto itself (especially over the course of the show - two of my faves being Carolyn in the Vampire's thrawl and 1995). And of course there were, Millicent, Charity, Charity as Pansy, PT Carolyn, and the characters in 1840 and PT 1841 (was it 41?). I enjoyed all of her portrayals.

In this link:
...

there is another link to an article from which I've copied the following;

CW: Robert Cobert has been your go-to composer since Dark Shadows. Will he be involved with Our Fathers?

Curtis: He will be involved in everything I ever do, including this show. He's the most brilliant composer around, and he's never let me down. What he did on Winds and War was unbelievable. The guy just writes dead-perfect scores.

Does anyone have any professional insight (or an educated guess) as to whether the WB DS project could be considered DC's "anything I'll ever do" enough so that we might expect Mr. Colbert will be doing the score for the new DS?

And for those who know, did the 91 series use any of the same themes and or cues as the 60's series had?

Thanks MB!  :D

I'm not big on reading. That was short and sweet - just the way I like it. I'm encouraged that DC is encouraged. I'm really glad you posted this link. :)

Oh, and thanks for the pic's Joe! What a treat! I am completely taken with Ivana. Finally, an Angelique I'll be able to love to hate. I hope she'll fulfill all my expectations.

Don't know why they got rid of the Viki character, but I've always thought that if Groves had taken over the role after AM that the character would/could have continued on. Of course this is without knowing why they decided to get rid of Viki once and for all.

Anyone think Viki could have continued to the end of the series, or do you think the character just played itself out? Sort of like the Josette character became obsolete in the scheme of things. Honestly, I don't think I could have taken another Josette/Barn rehash.
