Anyone think that Barnabas can actually see into Collinwood via the portrait?

Henesy has been doing a pretty good job lately. I know I couldn’t have done what he did at his age.

I like the scene with David, Roger and Liz. I guess now that Roger is new and improved, Liz is being a little more sensitive toward him and his parenting technique.

Dear lord, David goes to the Old House after all his warnings to others. But that’s our David, right? Lol At first I thought he was going to catch Barn rising from the coffin, but when I saw that the basement door was locked, I figured someone would catch him there, and it was Julia. I’d hate to admit it, but I thought to myself either Willie or Julia would catch David at the door. Willie? Really? Duh.

Grayson was fun to watch with David, and then with Roger and Liz discussing keeping David away from the Old House and his “fantasies”.

I’m so glad the location scouts found the Old House, and that stills & footage were taken of it. I think it adds so much to the ambiance of the Old House scenes.

The scene between Barn & Jules at the Old House looked good color-wise. It made me think of the old View Master Reels pix. Frid looks great in dark suits. I’m really warming up to the Barnabas/Julia thang. Frid seems more at ease in his scenes with Grayson – Maybe it’s my imagination, or maybe it’s an intended tell tale sign of their blossoming codependence. No more Karlen? Willie’s been shipped off to an asylum (not Wyndcliff, where Jules can keep tabs on him?) and I can’t for the life of me fathom Barn having any fondness toward him whatsoever. Had I had a baloney sandwich, I’d have thrown it at Barn/the TV when he stated that.

Roger and David: The scene between them in David’s bedroom was intriguing because I am not used to Roger being so understanding and, well, fatherly. Roger’s turtleneck made me think of Jonny Lee Miller’s Roger in The 2012 DS movie.

It’s pretty obvious what Barn’s plans are for David, what with his discussion with Jules, and the bat attack. It’s much better TV than having to hear Barn say for the 12th time that David must be killed.

The one thing I kept repeating to myself over and over during this episode is that it’s time for Barn to move his two coffins.

I guess the guy that created the bat is a famous…bat maker? Marionetter? Puppet master? Batman? Now I am wondering if Bob the bartender got screen credit when he had those few lines a few episodes back. There’s got to be a CTP/FITB quote in here somewhere.

Not a bad episode for content, but Frid and Edmonds struggled a bit with their lines.

So, Willie's coming out of his coma. Jules is all ready trying to come up with excuses for Willie's blabbing the truth to everyone. I don't know how to feel about her actually considering taking Willie out. She's always so anti kill. But self preservation is a strong motive to kill, and let's face it, she's learning from the best.

I absolutely hate the fact that they show Julia going to remove Willie's intravenous needle from his arm twice. It is f'n stupid.

Loved that the writers have the sheriff insist Barn stay out of Willie's room until he's had a chance to question him. It would have been so like them to have let Barn in the room, I almost expected it. It is certainly realistic and suspenseful, and I personally enjoy watching Barn squirm, especially after that slap-worthy smile yesterday in Willie's room.

I also enjoyed the sheriff's gruffness with Julia in Willie's hospital room.

Barn talks awfully loud in public places, doesn't he? Geesh! I also very much enjoyed Grayson's performance when Julia talks about not being able to kill Willie.

They sure know how to make someone look awful! Karlen looks pretty tattered as Willie in the hospital bed. The suspense is really played up as they have Willie talk about being afraid of the dark, etc. I wonder if anyone in the audience thinks that Willie is faking being nuts? I wondered for a second myself. But it kind of looks like he remembers some things but perhaps it's the emotions he's remembering and not the actual events.

And why is Willie saying the ring is his? Does that make sense to anyone? I'm thinking I may have missed the meaning of that because I started the watching project after Maggie returned to Collinsport.

Gerringer is still floating my boat as an actor.

If Willie were faking it, I wonder of Barn would be able to tell.

Pretty good ep. - no Sarah, at least.

Well, I see Vicki's dress in color. Not impressed but I appreciate the opportunity. And this episode is sponsored by orange hue and green tint.

It was a little jarring that David named Barnabas as the man in his dream. And that he and Sarah are dead. Well, Barn's dead sometimes, let's get that straight. My favorite part of David's and Vicki's talk in the opening scene is seeing how much in charge of David Vicki is.

The writing was fun for the Barn & Jules scene but it didn't work as delivered. Still fun though. The lack of music in the scene was obvious and noticeable.

My favorite line in the episode was delivered by Liz to Julia: "You seem a woman of many talents, Miss Hoffman."

Bennett looked lovely as usual. And I got a kick out of seeing Julia's flats.

The final scene between David and Julia worked pretty well I thought. Julia's reaction at the very end of the scene was a bit odd for having David standing there. I feel like her reaction was better suited to him running out of the room and up the stairs.

This episode was okay. I think it was pretty exciting as written but it didn't grab me as much as I think it was meant to.

"Sheriff Patterson couldn't believe he'd forgotten to bring his _cat's cradle string_ to help him to pass the time in Willie's room!!"

Gotta admire Liz as she is always one to take the bull by the horns as in going to confront Barn on why David is afraid of him.

Favorite line: Barnabas - "And besides, at times as depressing as this, one can be grateful for the company of...two beautiful women."

Bennett made heavy use of the teleprompter as did Frid to a lesser degree. I am tempted to keep count of Barn's bangs points.

I really think Liz would have waited outside David's door, or at least I would have hoped so.

My second favorite line: Barnabas to David - "It's not polite to answer questions with questions."

Dang, Barn let it all hang out with David. It was a bit surprising to me. You would think that Barn would wait to get David in a more secure setting in case either of them went off the deep end. But I guess being Barn knows that David was in the secret room of the mausoleum and that David has kept that info to himself so far, Barn felt he could risk the confrontation.

I am not clear on David's dream. They always make it look as though Barn is inducing these dreams to scare David but the dreams don't really make sense in that line of reasoning. And then, also, one never knows just how much ESP David has either. Maybe his supernatural subconscious is responsible - not Barn, and not Sarah. I think the dreams make sense as warnings. What the heck, maybe it's Laura guiding her son from her 100 year vacation residence.

This ep. was okay, I didn't like David's dream, though it was effective. I did get goose bumps from it.
