Yes, the mirror was there as they filmed a scene with Roger and Carolyn reflected in it.  Just as today Roger, Burke and Vickie drink tea at the seance table which as replaced the missing piano and writing desk for the day. Laura easily gives into leaving with no forwarding address and no one questions this.  Laura appears in the dark in David's room to make getaway plans. It's interesting that a creature of the fire appears out of darkness in her teleporting image instead of a ball of flames.

Guthrie is dead and the living at Collinwood can only guess at what to do next because he wasn't  smart enough to confide what he knew about the undead.

David says he feels a restless wind in the Old House. Laura knows of the planned seance but I suppose since Guthrie is dead she figures they will cancel it.  The determined Vickie is back and she goes forward. I can see now, after all she has said about her past in the orphanage, that she is the adult version of David. Maybe I've realized this before and forgotten, but seeing them together lately has reinforced it.  Sam is really the most dramatic person.  The overhead shots are nice. It would have been fun if they used them more say as a bats perspective. They learn from David Radcliffe that a little house by the sea will burn.

Guthrie grabs David and the spell is broken. If I were he, I would never leave David's side. Vickie is bold to say soon they will know.  David is thrilled to be in the seance at the Old House.

Guthrie defines the undead as having lived and died and returned to walk the earth. It has a spookiness about it that I like.  the writers were good at this time.  It's the battle of the undead today for the life of Guthrie.

Mrs J. Provides a vital clue that Laura always keeps the fire going.  My first thought would be to lure her out and douse the flames or at least cut off her wood supply. Dr Guthrie once again throws all the cards on the table by announcing Laura is undead and she wants to destroy her son.

David telling his Dad that he was almost ready to go wirh his mother and he saw himself in the fire and then Roger not quite believing was nerve wracking. We must be coming to some kind of climax soon.  Burke seems to be coming around from Laura's thrall.

David sees his head in the fireplace surrounded by flames as in the painting.  Joe does some sleuthing and finds the article. The Collinsport library looks like it would be full of moldy books. It was fun to see the girls scare themselves silly in the old spooky mansion.

Guthrie finds out that Laura Radcliffe is buried outside and Joe knows where this is going. They pull up a very modern casket which of course is empty. Laura makes a surprise visit to the crypt. She seems startled to see Laura Stockbridges coffin.  So apparently she was drawn to come there but did not know why.

I keep noticing some tinsel like blob near the middle of the coffin. Joe later calls it a seal, but it still looks like strips of tinsel hanging down. Frank arrives to stop the desecration but it goes on. After all the struggle with the coffin and Guthries lines, the coffin opens by itself.  Another missing Laura.

I think that this Laura has the original Laura's  memories and sometimes her feelings from the past seem to seep back maybe when she hasn't spent enough time by the fire.  I have a feeling in true dark shadows fashion these questions may go unanswered.

Carolyn's leg models by the slate. Bring on the mini skirt. Laura eveals that David must come to her of his own free will which he seems to be doing, but maybe he has to lose all his fear. Roger has transferred his pet name for his sister to Carolyn who now is the Lucretia Borgia of Collinwood.

Guthrie tells Carolyn that her rival Laura is behind the trance attempt and she eats it up. Guthrie suggests illegal activity andvi'm all for it but will Collinsport's most upstanding person agree?  Joe and Maggie are kissing. She is reluctant to leave her Dad. Carolyn comes in and Maggie is jealous, but she gets more kisses from Joe. Guthrie wants Joe to open a grave.

I was thinking it may have been different directors but was too lazy to look back to see if the credits were listed. I thought the redo was a more inspired filming.  Vickie is very intuitive today and thinks that Guthrie looked Like Mrs. Stoddard when she became entranced.  David"s description of Laura as part of the fire was good and the smart boy that he is connected it to the painting.

I was wondering why Laura's body disappeared in Phoenix. It would have been more convenient for her if it had gone when she transformed.  She was surprised to learn it was gone.  I wondered about her comment that nothing that happened in Phoenix had to do with her.  Maybe this incarnation of Laura never was in the southwest and only came into being when the real Laura Collins died.
