Jason to Elizabeth, "The only ending for us involves the police.". Another great line.  This storyline reminds me of so many old Hollywood movies not unlike some Joan starred in.

I like when Willie cries don't let it get dark I'm scared. Such a change one coulld almost feel sorry for him.
The heart beats again and Willie says he hears the calling and is coming. he pushes Jason away and roars off in the car. Jason apparently jumps into his own car if he has one or one of the Collinses and follows him. I wonder how Willie acquired his car?

Maggie and Joe are missing also. I thought Burke was missing, but he comes on from behind them. Willies make up has a darker tone to it in today's episode.  Willie has around on his arm.

This is the first time I have watched on DVD so it makes sense that I hadn't heard before that the calf had two puncture wounds on the neck. And there was not a drop of blood in the body. Willie is so changed and his hands shake as he tries to drink. Jason notices the blood on Willies sleeve, but apparently hasn't heard about the bloodless calf and wondered if Willievmight be involved.

This is one of my favorite episodes mostly because I like old houses.  Vickie is once again unafraid, despite having witnessed many supernatural events, she goes headfirst into the old house as if she had never seen a ghost.  There she meets Barnabas who is not a ghost, but as David said seems to haunt the house that was not designed to be a tomb.
If it were not for Jason's remarks on Mrs J's cooking, I might be inclined to think that Roger was just being snobbish about her boiled dinners. It must be fairly hard to ruin a boiled dinner.

Elizabeth gets down to the essence and asks Jason how much cash will it take to get him to leave.  I like how they just haven't dropped the Carolyn being in love with Burke story. I wonder if she knows that he is seeing Vickie again? And will she still be jealous?

A man who has come a great distance. Only in terms of time is the distance great. The uncanny resemblance. I know that this is the first use of that word and how did Elizabeth mean it? Supernatural, eerie or beyond the ordinary.  Barnabas keeps repeating sunrise in his talk with cousin David. Barnabas is sad and haunts the rooms. David says this very perceptively.

I think most modern cemeteries have perpetual care as part of the cost of buying the plot, but believe me some of the older ones do not and it's up to the family to maintain their plots and that would be me. I liked the prowling around the tools shed line. The eagle eye of Mrs J doesn't miss much.

The VO where Vickie says, "There are no limits to what some men may do." is now of my favorites and the writer even knew proper English.  The bible that you can swear on has never been written.  Great line. I like how Williie is trying to break into Naomi Collins casket and accidentally opens the secret door where the chained coffin rests and the heart beats.

The cemeteries could be adjacent to one another.  The Roman Catholics did not mix.  Eagles Hill is five miles north with the rest of the Collins buried in the Collins cemetery. Never go there at night.

Elizabeth got the broach when she was eighteen from her great grandmother which would seem to be from her mothers side.  She feels Willie isn't worth 1000 but when Jason drops the price to 500 shrewd woman that she is the deal is made.  The jewel is recovered, and David talks of more jewels.  Willie is enthralled.

The Blue Whale is busy tonight and Willie wants money. He is quite the dangerous man but Burke the former prison inmate takes the knife from him and beats him to the ground.

A double image of Vickie in Elizabeth's vanity mirror. The resemblance between mrs Stoddard and her governess is very noticeable today in their close proximity to one another.  New Willie pumps Mrs J. For information and she is willing to tell all.

Another portrait with eyes that glow. Barnabas died in England a rich man. Everyone needs a loaded revolver in their drawing room desk.  How uncareful we were in the 60's, my father had a gun rack with at least ten loaded rifles in it and we were just expected to leave it alone.

I'm thinking the three takes probably had something to do with the new Willie. And how quickly things have changed with everything revolving around, " This Willie person."
