I was forgetting that she stayed on in the foundling home to work after she was old enough to leave and that she written more as a governess of a prior century where a poor orphan would have no prospects.

David doesn't seem as adventurous as he was or as fond of ghost hunting. It's really light in the cemetery considering it has to be after dark.
Barnabas informs Willie he might have to take care of Julia.

Julia puts on her gloves to go out which was a common practice in the sixties. She also takes her pocketbook which seems strange, but I guess she has her cigarettes and lighter in there.

Just for the fun of it. There are two Niall Bradfords and one Nial on Facebook. The fact that there were no other in London of all places seems implausible. Of course, how good is Burkes investigator is another question.
Now Burke suddenly has some theory about Barnabas about Maggie and tries to get her to remember

The VoiceOver mentions Alliance between the living and the dead of which there are now two making aliances.
Barnabas threatens death again towards Julia if she makes a mistake, but if she does would he not still be dead?  Julia is using her gruff business voice.
At the Great House, Elizabeth questions Julia who has lost her gruff tone. Elizabeth looks pretty in her velvety dress.  Julia is evasive as always and really why did she not just present herself as who she really is and say she is taking a leave to pursue her hobby. It would have been easier but of course less dramatic.
Now Vickie wants to know about Burke and he is evasive. Really Vickie should take pause that he. Is so unwilling to share and run the other way, but no she decides that although he could be a mafia boss for all she knows, she doesn't care
Barnabas adds to his list of adjectives for Burke calling him crass and vulgar.

I liked how Joan looked down when Vickie talked about who she is as if she could not face her because of her guilt. Vickie says she never thought of marriage. Never?

I found my copy and rewatched it and there are an amazing amount of similarities between the characters, plot and Dark Shadows.  There is a door in one of the rooms in the movie that is just like the one under the stairs in the foyer.

Devlin must die! Please. The seemingly only way to deal with a threat is to kill them. Why not just put Devlin under his control no matter how distasteful his blood is bound to be. Barnabas admits he has been lonely. It is funny that Willie is now the voice of reason after being made a slave.

All I notice about Burke now is how overbearing he is. It seems that AG has focused on this one trait in his acting. Burke always seemed larger than life where you had to notice him and a force to be reckoned with. I realize that even though all the TelePrompTer reading used to annoy me, I'd take that. I can see that if people were not sympathetic to Barnabas, they soon would be over that crude Burke person.

It seemed that Seaview was open to all the way Vickie described it earlier, yet in this episode Elizabeth needs keys to enter. Eliabeth always seems to be the naysayer on any proposal and has to warm up tp the idea.
Julia reveals her grandmother gave her the medallion which she pulls out to deepen Maggie's hypnosis.

The afghan reminds me how colorful the Evans cottage is and SAMs paintings really stand out.  The place seemed really dreary in black and white where it is really quite cosy. Sam seems to be either on the wagon or reduced his intake.

The rooster crows prominately and Barnabas says Dawn!  He menacingly says Maggie must die! But he will once again be deterred for talked out of it with no,doubt by either Julia or Willie.

We also get the wavy and much bigger Dark Shadows in the intro.  It's much more dramatic.  Nobody seems to question that Maggie was talking about the man and now has forgotten while alone with Julia.  Has Julia been making her forget all along, because if she hadn't Maggie could talk to staff and clients at the home.

Vickie's house reminds me of the movie "The Univited" but it's been do long that I can't recall ll the details but it involved a secluded house by the sea, people who came to live there and ghosts.   It is hard to believe that the nurse is so easily tricked and nobody contacts Collinsport people in the know within the time it took Maggie to get to Collinsport.

Lydia, the door under the stairs is six feet high and there are nine and a half inches of moulding according to the specs so that is about a foot short of a modern eight foot ceiling.  Notice the panels are narrower and longer than the ones in the drawing room to add to the illusion of height. The side walls also have no trim to cut up their feeling of height and the fact that they shoot at a low angle.  There are no specs on the stairs so if they cheated and made the treads smaller than normal but kept the risers the same it makes the stairs steeper and thus look taller as compared to the stairs in the old house which look low. It also helps that most the actors are petite and look small against the backdrop. In reality due to the height of the drawing room ceilings there has to be another set of steps beyond that door to get to the second floor.
