Another B&W episode.  Not caring for the new doctor. He has an almost sinister manner. I liked how the headshrinker tied in David's past with his mother which at the time seemed odd that he just kind of glossed over what had happened to her and almost to him. Seaview will says only Collins can own it for 100 years and there is five to go.  Why can they not just live there or rent it?  A hasty tie up to that story.

David is a very dramatic little boy. Roger talks about how he thought the ancestral portraits were watching him as a child. I remember my mom asking me why I had the portraits of my great grandfather and uncle that hung in my room covered up. I said it was to keep the dust off of them, but not really. Roger says he outgrew it, but he stares at Jeremiah over the fireplace and it looks like he didn't. David is once again foiled in this quest to prove he isn't lying.

Barnabas has finally gotten some smarts and come up with a plan to deal with David. Burke and Woodard go to check out David's claim to see a coffin in the basement and Barnabas says,  " What would I be doing with a coffin in my basement?"

Julia is once again getting chocked. This time it's disloyalty. Frid messes up his lines quite a bit. Barnabas s softens and reveals he is frightened. He reveals his main motivation is his quest for a bride Josette. It's October and they still have not discovered the copyright is wrong.

When Elizabeth confessed to Vickie about Paul, she revealed she was the sobbing woman.

I too enjoyed the pole bat by Baird. David looks at the picture of Barnabas and the eyelids glow. Roger decideds tht David is losing his gripe.  Roger plays the piano. Julia calls David's dream fantasies. What else could it be certainly not reality.

The old sheriff is back as we'll as his overextended uniform. Willie has mde a miraculous recovery from multiple bullets, surgery and being on death watch. I love Julia smoking up a storm in the room with a patient just off oxygen.  It is the sixties. Now give her a cocktail and hor'derve and it would be perfect.
Why would Willie not be still under Barnabas' control? But then he is hopelessly insane so all is well.

They were still using wooden chairs in the nursing home my great uncle was in 1965 and we used to race them up and down the halls. I thought of that when I saw the episode.
The death watch continues and I had forgotten about oxygen tents, but it was a good way to not have to pay the real actor.  Vince O'brien becomes Patterson for the day. I can't help but notice the lack of girth on the replacement. I never saw a recliner in a hospital room. Barnabas has to help the searchers find Maggie's ring and the sheriff makes the odd comment about not searching the rest of the house. Why would Willie not find a hiding place elsewhere. It would actuallly make more sense.
The sheriff starts to walk onstage during the closing credits

[citrouille] David tells new Burke  [devil2] that Sarah is a ghost and Vickie deduces this as well.
Sarah disappears from David's room onscreen thus making sure that the audience now knows she is a ghost .

Elizabeth's dress is wild. It reminds me of when my grandmothers and their friends caught up tp the sixties colors and hemlines. I love how Julia says she suspected Willie all along and that he was a psychopath.

The dream is much cooler in color.  As he awakens David decides Sarah is dead.  It is interesting that David takes his dreams as fact and his conclusions about real life situations are drawn from them; whereas, the adults would think he was crazy to believe his dreams.  The hopefulness of getting news of Willies demise is amusing.  I too like the leech like persistence to which he clings.
Julia carries her handbag around the house with the medallion revealed to be inside. Why does she not just wear it or stick it in her pocket.  The carrying of the pocketbook around inside seems excessive even for Julia.

Seaview gets a mention. The lawyer is working on it.  I'm curious as to when this was supposed to unfold and  what the plans were for the story.
Elizabeth says David is afraid of Barnabas for no reason. Now Barnabas should run with this and set it up to make David look like he is lying at every chance he gets so that if he does spill at some point no one will believe.  Barnabas confronts David about the secret room and her family. David dreams of a faceless woman with a medallion in a two piece suit. Now who could that be. another black and white episode.

Willie convieniently provides Barnabas with an alibi. Barnabas now frets that Willie will live.  I guess all that time Willie spent with him means nothing, but who will replace him as general flunkie?

Julia bluffs and Barnabas folds then she reveals the bluff to Wilie.  One would think that Julia would have already done this and had a copy ready to show Barnabas. Barnabas one more is on the someone must die kick after deciding it was a bluff.

Julia thinks she can trust Barnabas. She smiles and has a softer tone in her voice. Willie later sneaks of to warn the dissolutioned doctor that Maggie must die.  Then Maggie hears the dogs howl.
