David sees the old man looking in the window.  The blood offering was a fun scene.  Carolyn finds Cousin BArnabas in the dramatic cliff hanger.

The reveal of the Aged face was enjoyable and how Barnabas freaks out over the change. Barnabas says he must revert to being a vampire. I wish they had explored a little more what exactly was happening with the treatments and what effect they had.

David wakes up Carolyn to see if she is dead. What a great wake up. I'm surprised Carolyn doesn't keep her door locked.

What does dry ice dropped in a boiling cauldron do? Run the equipment?  Why is Barnabas strapped in the chair? Is this  something new or just unseen before. Barnabas says he feels as if there is new blood in his veins.
Julia ditches the medallion for some reason and uses a crystal to hypnotize Vickie. They go to the old house cEller where the arches are gone being used in Julia's lab. She is to never forget and never remember which leaves her with a vague uneasiness. Julia must be crazy to think that Barnabas will choose her over Vickie, but it isn't the first time someone was a fool for love.
Barnabas' hand has aged shockingly in the finale.

Vickie's dream that she is preparing to be a bride in josettes room is interesting in that it ties in with her obsession with the past and her connection with Josette and Burke who discouraged this is dead on the bed in a room steeped in the past.  Will Vickie be lost to the past?  Barnabas tells Julia he is aware of her and they re only dr. And patient. He doesn't want her jealousy to interfere.

Mrs. j hears the plane hs gone down. Why they would be reporting on a flight into the wilds of South Am. In a remote Maine town seems odd.  Barnabas feels Julia sees Josette as a rival.  There're is lots of talk about the starless, moonless night.  It adds to the atmosphere of doom. Joan has a hard time with her lines. I like the original Josette storyline. It would have been interesting to see it played out. The copyright is now 1967. Apparently they figured this out sometime during the strike.

David is melancholy. It is apparently because no one believes him. Not sure why this time should make him melancholy when he just got angry or even before.  Carolyn reveals she knows how he feels growing up all alone with no playmates in the old mansion. More out of focus ca era work in this episode. David feels there is going to be an accident and he realizes it is the last time he will see Burke alive.  He realizes that not a soul will believe him and is resigned.

Julia appears to be practicing a combination of black magic and junior high science to cure Barnabas and provide power to the Old House in her new Lab which is made up from various parts of the basement sets.
The big vat which she drops dry ice into looks like a cauldron. Has this been a regular treatment or something new. Julia later fumes with Jealousy over Vickie who reveals she loves Collinwood.  A hooded figure soon reaches out to Julia. It disappears before she turns around and reacts to it.

Did KLS make that skirt? It just screams her. I must have read that she did somewhere tht it popped into my mind the minute it came onscreen. Julia is reacting badly to the news of the death and then with great gusto at the suggestion of murder.

Barnabas appears quite gleeful when he says death was due to heart attack.  He says the fatal curiosity is cured. Banabas and Julia from this time period seem far removed from ones from late 1968 when I originally started watching.  When I caught this on PBS in the 80's, it was a surprise as was that Julia was interested in Barnabas as more than a friend.

Yes, Barnabas seems to vacillate between being emotional and inhuman. It mostly seems his humanity comes out dealing with Sarah and people for he has some feeling.  I suppose it could be blamed on the treatments and how they work on him.
Barnabas tells Woodard it will be like a dream from which you will never awaken.

Barnabas declares it is preposterous that Julia could be romantically interested and of course it is revealed she is by her actions. It always seemed a bit strange that Julia who was working on curing Barnabas, was so invested in keeping Vickie away.
The drawing room chair is in Julia's room. It was originally in Vickie's. Maybe just to explain it and to not picture Mrs. Johnson heaving and sighing as she moves furniture from room o room and floor to floor that there is a set.  Julia's room is the one next to Vickie's and across from David which I had never noticed before.
I find it interesting  Julia has a schoolgirl crush on Barnabas and keeps her notes in a red diary a girl would use.

Another red flag to Vickie over the possesive nature of Burke.  He is the poster child for abusive husband. Are his secret trips to a compound where he has a harem of women in caprivity? They get the West wing as an offer of a home.  This Burke is so far removed from the one who wanted to live a Collinwood in the beginning.
Julia suddenly reveals that she has notes that she keeps in her room, but not at the lab where she works which would seem safer and make more sense.

Maybe the announcer is out on stike so the actors are saying the end credit.

the new caretaker is not as crazy as the old one. I noticed that they seemed to have wiped out the names on the Stockbridge graves although it is clearly the same crypt as was used before during the Laura Story.
Woodard confronts Barnabas about Sarah with not any thought of safety. He and Julia obviously didnt take any courses in college about common sense.

Sharon knows her lines even less than normal. Sarah must know enough that she should not show the Doctor the secret room but she does. Vickie decides because of David she must not rush into marriage. I would think that the fact you know virtually nothing about your intended groom might be a good reason. Woodard reveals to Julia that Sarah is a ghost. Now Julia originally went on about the supernatural when she first came so she should say she suspected this all along.
