A nice stormy episode. Angeligue cannot conjure up a spell to contol things now? It seemed she was all powerful a while back and yet isn't thinking to control things to her advantage now.  Dark Lady is right that Barnabas must be light because just an empty coffin is no easy thing to lift about. Angeligque signs the paper that says she will never return to Collinwood in her lifetime. Just what is the lifetime of a witch and who will hold her to it? Although she supposedly loved Barnabas, Angelique has already moved on with a life where she has freinds and travel and is presumably passing herself off as an elite member of society. Then men apparently transfered the body from the flat topped coffin into the one with the moudlings on top that looks well used due to the hammer dimples and scratches on it. Perhaps Joshua in his frugalness, has a nice coffin for show and then any old coffin will do once the person is in the crypt.

Angelique blames Barnabas' illness on the plague. It seems the family will believe anything that is told to them.
Angelique and Josette spar over Barnabas and Vickie tries to warn Josette to leave Collinwood. Now considering that Josette believes she is the witch, Vickie should be smart enought to not reveal that she has a book with her supposedly printed in 1965. Now the binding on said book looks very similar to ones in my library that were printed around 1910, but I can give the benefit of the doubt that they wanted a faux old look to the book, but never did Elizabeth mention that it had just been printed and then why have Julia work on the family history two years later?

I really noticed the string on the bat today.  I really thought Angelique was dead as her purpose has run its course, so it was surprising to see her appear in the bedroom. The lighting on Jonathan was very good making him look much younger than they normally do with his lighting. Natalie only uses nine cards this time in her reading instead of a massive amount as she did in earlier episodes. Angeligue reveals that Barnabas will be the living dead if he loses his life.

Josette decides to leave and frankly I never saw the point in her staying unless at some point they had her staying because of Barnabas. He gives her the music box and hangs her painting over the mantel which just seems bizarre knowing that Angelique has powers and could destroy it or Josette. Barnabas shoots Angelique which seems to have been what he had planned to originally do before all the fumbled attempts. Whoever he loves will die through all eternity. The bat returns again to attack.

The plot rehashing begins. Apparently the years in the coffin made Barnabas forget he had already stabbed an empty bed in the past. Then she repels the knife and reveals she always hated Josette. Were there not other people she could have worked for that she liked?  Millicent suddenly appears again and is excruciatingly awful and pointless. Nathans character is all over the place. It seems he changes to fit whatever plot point is needed at the time. They have been apparently seeing each other secretly off screen. Bat by Bill Baird.

The Collins family have an amazing talent for amassing junk in the already deteriorating cellar after having lived there for days and having left a fully furnished house behind them. Vickei reveals that there was not heat from the fire only an icy feeling. I still cannot quite fathom when  knowing that Trask was out the front door, she didn't run out the back of the house or stop to realize only her room was in flames.

The bookcase that is normally right of the fireplace is replaced by a lookibng glass in which to film Angeliques antics in relection. The camera is seen at the new house as Joshua and Abby enter the drawing room. Sharon manages to only sneak one look at the teleprompter in the new house, but in the old house she seems to have forgotten every other line. The family cave into Abby's demands for an exorcism.

Naomi replaces the ruined wedding gown and Angelique replies she will never forget her kindness. WInd blows through the house and the camera used for the close ups had a blur and bluish tint in contast to the good color from the long shots. Its almost as bad as the kinescopes.
