The scene between Lange and Jeff is excruciating. They seem to have gone to the school of loud acting. Another noticeable dramatic fade out. I had to turn up the volume on the Vickie and Carolyn scene on the landing. Not sure if it was their scene or fallout from listening to the prior scene. Vickie once again thinks Jeff is Peter in the mausoleum and he magically opens the door to the secret room.  The gilded mirror that floats around the house in the present time is now on the wall where the liquor cabinet usually resides.

Roger continues to stare at the painting and acting in a weird manner.  The painting is not all that. Thanks DL for naming the instrument. I could not remember what what they were called.  Lange has an extreme headache and then it's over. Barnabas suspects Angelique. I guess 200 years gave him time to think about her shennanigans and think that she may the one doing all the unexplained.

Julia gets a call and seems shocked. It really must be something big to shock her. Barnabas is out of it and it seems crazy, that as invulnerable as he has been portrayed, he is knocked out. Then the helpless hapless Vickie is basically fine. She awakens after dreaming of Peter screaming for Peter. It's all about Peter now. It turns out that this isn't the Peter she wanted and it's just some guy who looks like Peter, but he's just Jeff.
Barnabas is the living dead! cue really loud music.  The doctor is Eric Lange and he is loud. The clock in the credits is stopped at four o'clock. Four o'clock in the afternoon!

I'm surprised that the devil's charm was not destroyed or at least stolen and sold by one of the irate townspeople. Joe mentions that Maggie gave the bracelet for her birthday. The man that looks as if he were Peter is supposedly in the road but it looks as if  he's off in the woods.

When Pr,Tim  Stokes comes to the door Vickie says he looks like someone she once knew. Matthew or Ben?  Stokes reveals he is devoted to the occult. The Old house has been aged again, but without all the in repaired damage in the Hall that seemed out of place considering it was supposedly restored. Barnabas tells Vickie they will go away together for all time. Hopefully they can stand each other that long.

Elizabeth and Vickie are wandering in the cemetery looking for Peter's grave and they find it. Elizabeth calls Julia Miss to Vickie, I guess unused to her new title. I like the play on works as Vickie says it's Angelique and Roger enthralled says it angelic. Daniel is now Elizabeth's great=great grandfather. This is really quite an action packed eventful episode.

Julia is hypnotizing Vickie with the medallion making it's first appearance since the time disturbance. Vickie is babbling again and confused and fearful that if she falls asleep that she will go back to 1795. That would be frightening.  Jeremiah reveals that he is watching over her which seems odd that they dropped the Josette watching over her and then he scares her with his hand from the grave and Josette's hanging eye. Barnabas does reveal that Phyllis was originally hanged for witchcraft.  Jeremiah is Tim Gordon with the voice by the awful Addison Powell.

The family in the future or present is shown again. Yes! Then back in the past as Vickie is rehung today. Barnabas says looking angry,"What are you doing here?"  As the show Miss Wick and then reveal that she was hung in the past in place of Vickie who is screaming on the floor. Julia reveals she is a doctor with little ado over the matter. Vickie is confused as to which Barnabas she sees and puts herself once again in danger with her confusion and running her mouth. Julia manages to save her from Barnabas and she quickly recalls she was in another time.  The time travel explanation makes no sense but it does explain the DS version, I think.
There is a really great interview with Nancy Barrett after this episode where she says she was the most normal and most 60's character on the show and that she had a hard time justifying why Carolyn was not at college.

Barnabas pulls out the arrow and goes towards Nathan. I would have preferred they show him bite Nathan and drain his blood leaving him lifeless on the floor.  Joshua declares he will rewrite history leaving the way for future sloppy writing to be expalined away.
Suddenly Vickie is told she has not been granted a stay of execution from the Governor. She has five minutes to live.  Peter says, "I'll find you."  Their best scene so far. Vickie goes to gallows and is hanged until dead. Too bad the entier 1795 storyline hadn't been as fastpaced as the last few episodes.

Ben learns Vickie is gone and suspect Forbes.  The confrontation with Barnabas and Nathan was very satisfying and leaving him to torture over his fate.

Naomi has a letter with Joshua's name on it and then has a packet she eventually pours into a drink and downs it then goes to the tower to see Barnabas.  It seems strange from the conversation they have that she should poison herself when she finds Barnabas alive in a way and knows that he is under a curse that is not his fault and after the moments she had with her husband. She collapses in Barnabas' arms.

Ben reveals to Naomi that the witch was Angelique and Naomi reveals that Nathan sent her. Hopefully that means that Nathan will soon get exposed. Ben goes all Matthew Morgan and threatens Nathan. Nathan makes Naomi suspicious and she follows Millicent to the Gazebo and sees all.

It is revealed that Joshua is in Boston getting help  Nathan ever the scoundrel reveals to Naomi that Barnabas is not dead and is a murderer. Naomi goes to the tower to see. I am not sure why Peter is being held for Noah's death when he kidnapped Daniel. I can see being held as abetting a fugitive.

In another bit of insanity, the fugitives decide to wait until Vickie's arm is better. Why? Throw her in the back of a wagon and hit the road.
Joshua is suddenly in Boston with all that his going on.
Daniel leaves and Noah gets him. Vickie shoots Noah in the back and he is dead. Vickie screams and Nathan finds Peter with the gun.

Vickie must change the course of history?  IF she thought about it then she would realize Daniel had to survive or there would be no Collins family for her to go to in the future and she would not be in the past.
But then maybe all the inconsistency from the early episodes can be explained by her tampering with the past and Jeremiah and Josette are no longer the greatgrandparents.
Daniel wants to be adopted by Joshua and Naomi and who can blame him.  Noah returns and Nathan wants him to kill Daniel. Noah abducts him and plans to dump him in the ocean, but the boy is too clever for Nathan's henchman and he escapes and runs to Vickie.
