Carrie is back with Desmond. I'm not sure I knew she was gone along with Desmond. She meets her news governess. She is crushing on Gerard who looks constipated. He writes in journal Judah will live. Gerard snaps out of it and says he won't be possessed. He takes the head out in woods and throws it off Widow's Hill. Yeah! For seeing Widows Hill, nay for caring about Gerard. Gerard comes on to Daphne, she evades. Desmond is jealous. Gerard has a dream with Nicholas Blair in it. It comes true and Nicholas has a covered box. Oh, what can it be?

It doesn't appear that before the Laura's died they had any special powers, so maybe they develop them after they died by fire and come for their children. Though the Barnabas era Laura didn't appear to have children and then there's the question, if they take their children with them, how are there any Stockbridge descendants?  The original Laura story was one of my favorites.

Judah is caught in the fire;Gerard escapes. Judah puts on the mask.
Julia is out of Judah's power and she gives speech about he was her life and nothing else mattered as in her obsession with Barnabas and Tom Jennings. Third time wasn't a charm with this plot. She and Barnabas talk  about changing history. Who resurrected and reattached the head before?
Roxanne pours over Barnabas' letter and Lamar arrives. she may go to the city to be  Professional woman. Yes there were so many opportunities in 1840. Lamar flatters her creepily and asks her to marry. Lamar talks to Barnabas and Julia about his upcoming nuptials and Barnabas is speechless and shocked his gray love would marry the morturer.
Gerard dreams of Judah who wants him to find it. Gerard enters the tomb and nothing appears to be charred by the fire including Judah with mask which Gerard removes and eyes are open on the head. Which makes one wonder how Julia is no longer a follower? 
So, here we are well into the story and there are a host of characters that appear to have littlle to do with the main plot and are not seen for days on end that I Find more interesting than the main story which has also totally changed from Pirate Gerard and the Java Queen.

Gerard finds papers on Judah and the journal.
Leticia drops the adrenaline that Julia needs and must go for more at Collinwood. Where did she source this and she doesn't think she might need more?
Barnabas learns Julia lied to him about her activities. They meet and she lies again and he confronts her.  She refuses to answer and her usually witless pal deduces she is under Judah's spell.
Judah's heart is stopping and Leticia runs out of the tomb. Gerard now knows the entrance and finds Zackary who awakens and goes after Gerard in the midst of fire.

After talking loudly in the hall where the word vampire is mentioned, Mr and Mrs Collins retire to the drawing room and shut the door.
In the crypt, Julia has all kinds of manufactured equipment and modern glassware. Not to mention electrical apparatus and how long ago was Ben Franklin flying a kite in a lightening storm?  She tells Leticia, she can't explain.
Gerard comes to Rose courage and tells Leticia who is now there, that Flora is his last chance.
Julia now back at Collinwood acts spaced out as Barnabas talks to her.
Barnabas decides to write Roxanne a letter of goodbye. I roll my eyes. Angeligue packs and then orders Julia not to go to the Old House.
Leticia dreams a Judah reattached and it is a failure. She finds the mask of Bal and Gerard stops her and sees the mask.

Trask said he found no record of Barnabas dying in England. So he's had time to write to write to Englnd and then get an answer, not to even mention the fact there may be no records. Quentin has hung the Portrait of Barnabas in the foyer. Trask meet Valerie.
Q finds Johanna's grave.
Trask can't wait to scurry off and tell Roaxanne about Valerie. Roxanne confronts her great love who,is saddened to learn the truth. Valerie realizes she is the one and is furious. She puts a spell on Roxanne and opens her neck wounds.
Q confides to Barnabas he was building a stairway through time.
Barnabas and Valerie argue over Roxannes life and unless they are reunited as man and wife, Roxanne will die a vampire.

In the repeat of yesterday's scene, the Head's eyes are open and the coffin that was open is shut.
Julia and Barnabas talk at the Old House. Meanwhile, at Collinwood, the tension mounts as Daniel comes into the Drawing Room and Mrs. Barnabas Collins AKA Valerie. She reminds him of someone and it is Angelique. The witch!  She hastily puts a spell on him and Harriet appears. He apparently murdered her on Widow's Hill.
He won't remember and when Leticia comes in he introduces her.
Julia goes to Bedford. Just where is Bedford? It's apparently close enough to enable a headless body to get to Collinsport and travel to the cemetery in a short time. Judah was the most evil man that ever lived.  Julia learns. He is immortal as long as he has the mask of Bal which is the gold thing with a few fake jewels in it.
Miranda a follower testified against him and his head must be severed . One of the Judges was Armadeaus Collins. Barnabas recalls him the his tragic family.
Angelique comes in in Barnabas and Julia and suspects affair. Julia reveals she knows all. Angelique accepts that they are friends and then reveals she has changed and loves Barnabas.
Leticia takes Julia to the head and it looks at her and she is transfixed. The head is not scary. It is ugly. They should have got someone handsome enough to at least look at and justify that the person was charismatic enough to have followers on and off screen.

Barnabas and Julia walk the woods and what will they find? Hortense of course. She is barely alive.
The gilded mirror is suddenly missing from the bottom of the stairs.
Hortense revealed a headless man attacked her before her demise. Samantha and Julia have developed a friendship, and she confides in her about her marital wows and vows to make Q's life a living hell.
They realize the governess position is open and that Daphne could fill it. Julia tries to warn her away but she refuses. Q comes to her and says she was recommended by Desmond and will she become the new governess. She accepts.
Meanwhile a hooded figure glides through the cemetery and into the Mausoleum which for some reason is missing all its headstones. She pulls the ring on the lions head and it is Angelique. Exciting ending. Angelique should spice things up as always.
