I remember this  when it originally aired and thinking at the  time how JF had aged overnight it seemed and if he's never supposed to grow older as a vampire then why is his hair grey.    I never thought about the show being cancelled so I began to think what happens in five or ten years when his age really begins to show, but then came the shock of finding password in it's place one day so that scenerio never played out.

If Phyllis had shown even the slightest intrest in Barnabas, she would have been doomed.

The Collins who designed the old house must have traveled into the future for the design because  the Greek Revival period was around 1840.

I remember at the time thinking unfavorably that they were going back in time again and then hoping that they's get back to the present and then we got another parallel time.  I  now think that once Sam Hall and Company took over that they didn't know or care much about the original characters and story and the investment that the audience had in them.   That being said, I did like the Catherine and Branwell story but not so much the cursed room.

So far 52 is my favorite episode.  The interaction between Vickie and Carolyn is wonderful.  This is the first episode where the supernatural cannot be explained away as the sobbing woman could be Elizabeth even though it seems implausable that her cries could be heard throughout the whole house.   When the phone rang, I really noticed that  there is no phone upstairs, but there are two within ten feet of each other downstairs.

I think that the whole purpose of Vickie's trip to the past was to play out Barnabas' story; therefore, even though she tried to change events she could not.  It wasn't until the Quentin storyline  that the writers came up with the idea of the heroic Barnabas changing the past to save David.   Then of course, they repeated that theme over and over.
