Laura is back or some version of her, but she seems less haunted than the present day Laura.  I'm not sure if it's that the show is now in color or faster paced.  It seems that Collinwood has always been inhabited by remote father's and rather lonely sons who seek friendship elsewhere.

Trask is just as terrifying as I remember.   Barnabas is so clueless.  If he had any insight he'd realize that Quentin was raised in a family that did not trust anyone and everyone wanted something.    I thought that Quentin's questions to Judith about why she kept Jenny were right on the mark.

Barnabas seems to be grasping at anthing he thinks might work and should he not know by now that thwarting Angelique's power is not as easy as he thinks.  And then out of the darkness comes Trask.  It was a total surprise until the back of Jerry Lacy's head was shown.  If Barnabas notices the resemblance of Trask, then he should comment on the resemblance of the others.   He never says Rachel looks like Maggie only Josette.

I too, noticed the gravestones and was wondering if this was intentional foreshadowing on someones part.  I seem to recall that the Laura's were buried in a crypt with the Murdocks and not in the cemetery where the Collins are buried.
I am enjoying the Zombie storyline.  I had forgotten about it until Angelique said she'd make Quentin rise and also had forgotten about Quentin's possession of Jamison which ties into why Quentin would have targeted David in the present time to possess.

In the previous episode Barnabas says that the incense will return Quentin to the grave and then today he changes his tune and says that as long as Angelique controls him he will not rest which he should have realized from the beginning.  This episode really grossed me out as all I could see was the soup residue in Sandor's mustache.  There are some things that are better not seen on a larger TV screen.  I didn't notice it on the old 20 inch color set in 1969.

Wow! This is one of those episodes where so much is happening.  David Selby plays a great zombie.

The Collins children seem to have never had any love for one another and appear to have been in competition with each other from an early age for the affection of the grandparents.  The writers seemed to have spent some time developing the backstory for 1897.

Well, It's no surprise that I don't care for Dirk and found the whole exchange between he and Barnabas to be excruciating to watch and hear.

Quentin is dead and not in the west wing so history is changed and the job should be done, but no Barnabs decides QUentin must not die in this way.  It makes no sense.   I wish  they would have done a flashback to show how Quentin and Jenny met and ended up at Collinwood.

The writing for the Barnabas/Angelique scene was riveting.  I particularly liked, "not like other wives."   I should say not.
And the statement that Anglique liked and cared for David.  I don't think that she makes the connection that you should not harm the ones you love in the process of getting her goal.

I was sruck by how beautiful the drawing room of the old house looked with its lighting and colors.  Rachel must have used her super sleuth powers to see Jenny though the door throw the key over the balcony railing and then locate it once she got out.

As curious as Rachel is, should she not have brought a candle or lamp as to see everything she could in a darkened room.  The whole thing could have been avoided had someone thought to black out the windows of the tower or to even house Jenny in a more secluded place in the great house.   The clues seem to be pointing towards the madwoman of Collinwood being Nora's mother.

Barnabas! Are you here to save change the future and save David or to start a new life with Rachel?

i remember from thr original run how totally unexpected this was.  I always thought that Angelique added so much to the show.  Barnabas just can't seem to stay focused.  I can see how he ended up getting involed with Angelique in the first place and then back to Josette.
