The appearance of the Dancing Girl had slipped my memory. I had forgotten  what she looked like and that Aristede carried it. It was the knife flashing around that was very scary as a child, but now it looks kind of silly that Quentin could not escape it.
Angelique seems to really enjoy that she has the upper hand with the Nickolas lookalike Evan.  The who's got the hand situation reminds me of the pen from the early days.
Angelique calls herself a puppeteer.  It would make one wonder, if she were not behind everything going on, if only the writers were that advanced in their storytelling as Sam Hall wants people to remember him.

The HAA scene was very funny.
"l'll take the hand, Mr Collins. Now!" was a memorable line and a complete stranger recognizes Quentin and his own family is so unobservant they can not.

It seems that Clarice Blackburn is getting more work as the dead Minerva than when she was living.  It seemed when Trask slapped Judith that the timing was off.  If I were Judith just marrried  to Trask, and he treated me that way, He'd be history.  Judith had been played as if she were nobody's fool, but I guess love (no matter how icky) can do that to some people.  The ghost is really creepy.  Then to top it off poor Judith get's treated to clay Quentin.

The menacing Joan Bennett with letter opener in hand was fun to watch.  I liked how Evan made a point of calling him MR. Trask.   Were the knocks on the door  Minerva's ghost or Greggory?  It was sad to see the smile on Judith's face when she learns it it Greggory in light of his  marrying her for her money.  I see the credits haven't caught up with the writing as it still says Judith Collins.

Now we get claymation Quentin.  Grayson gets to deal with another victim of the hand while they are in a state of amnesia.
Edward  must not have much in the way of powers of observation, to not be able to see, that even with the smeared clay face it was Quentin.

I would have to loved to see Clarice Blackburn act out what should have happened, but I suppose
only the beautiful(Rachel) get murderously long death scenes
It was very obviously not the same hand in the chromakey.  The red candles were a nice touch in the Old House reminded me of home.  I wonder why they don't use white?  If it's due to color tv or the set designer, like my mother, hated white?

The Trask family entering Collinwood with the smug looks on their faces was good fun and then Magda's counterplay to Trask's threats to send her away until she reveals her knowledge of the nightshade was equally satisfying.  Anytime Trask gets knocked down a peg from his self imposed pedestal is worthwhile.
Charity's dream seemed conjured up to get people to buy the DS LP to hear David Selby and it obviously worked because over the years I've seen lots of them in thrift stores.

Evan is without a mind? Yet he follows directions.  I don't remember if we were frightened of Evan or just more grossed out.  The Collins siblings interaction is good as always, but they act as though Carl never existed.

That's what I though about the eye too.  And the rest of his face looks like the kind of modeling clay we used to play with in school in the 60's

Yes! if I wouldn't have left out portrait, It might have been more clearer but if one can't say the lines, "I don't understand" then it wouldn't be Dark Shadows would it?  Anyway, I tend to notice these things such as unexplained absences of furniture which seem to regularly occur.

Although she was not one to gossip, Mrs. Johnson seemed like a good source to anyone who set foot in Collinwood.

Barnabas hides his coffin in the secret room.  There must be other places to hide.  Has he no imagination.  Then they learn there are 4 secret rooms in the Old House and Edward seems to have forgotten that he showed the one behind the bookcase to Laura when they were first married.
Now Barnabas needs earth from the cellar.   Would it not be more sensible to have stashed some in a safe place when you know that you are exposed.   I wonder if DC is using his original ending for Barnabas that was changed in 1967.

Carl still breathing after death.  Could the camera operators not anticipated this since it's occurred before and go for a close up?   The practical reason for Carl's death was that John Karlen left the show to move to LA according to 16 magazine and permanently.  Maybe he irked DC enough to want to do him in in a violent way.  Also this is really the end of the first storyline and the beginning of another and DC seemed to always crank up the body count at the end of a story.

Once again the quick working stone mason of Collinsport has worked his magic. I see that Angelique is strong enough to move the grave marker as she swishes by.
It was interesting that Quentin thought Laura made Dirk a vampire.  Barnabas should have pushed this theory to eveyone.
"Curiosity killed the Carl" was a great line.

The fading effect on the tombstones was memorable.  Naturally Barnabas thinks it's all about him and blames himself for Rachel's death.  Rachel was foolish enough not to run when she's sees a coffin in  an old basement.   GH was great as Magda was all gleeful and then admits she stole the hand.  As soon as the dream started it had Vi Welles written all over it and sure enough the credits tell it all.
