In the reenactment Charity is standing right over Quentin and doesn't seem to see him.  The jam faced girl now speaks and says Quentin.  Why isn't she torn to shreds?  And why is the only apparent thing wrong with her a smeared face?  I guess that being a wolf creature is just to much for Charity in her pursuit of Quentin.  He was so much more desirable as a penniless, murderous self-centered alcoholic.

Barnabas turns out not to be in the coffin.  I though for sure that he would be.  Now we know the reason for finding the perfectly preserved Collins History book and bringing it into the storyline.  Another Bizarre Charity dream.  Would Daddy approve of her nightdress?  I think not, at least not on Charity.   Charity finds Quentin in the woods with the still living smeary faced girl  who is listed in the credits as Tessie.  I'm guessing she is another throwaway girl that we usually meet before she is attacked.

I had laugh when I read the Robservations and she called the room Petofi's lair as that was the same word I thought of to put in my notes when I saw it.  It seemed right out of Batman starrring Adam West .  "wherever Petofi is things go wrong." was a funny line.
We learn that Petofi has just 100 years to retrieve the hand to be able to live forever and time is almost up.  Why wasn't this mentioned before? It would certainly make the story more understandable as to why Petofi is doing all this.  I just found it totally unbelievable that Magda would fall for Petofi's ruse when she's been very sharp all along.

Jamison is superimposed over Collinwood.  They seem to be using this technique quite often now and I like it.  Jamison is locked in the cell in the Old House.  Charity does her version of "I Wanna Dance. "    This is really funny.  Trask commenting on the shocking condition of her face.  Trask is so smug when he remarks, " Soon there won't be any Collins left."  It was a total surprise when Barnabas appeared to Evan.  How does Barnabas know that Tim has the hand?  It seems that more and more they are leaving out the scene's to advance the plot logically and just skipping to highlights.  The reappearance of the burned paper was predictable, but good special effect.

Edward Collins is the Earl of Hampshire's gentleman.   I think that this is the first time that anyone actually said that the servant's quarters are under the staircase.
No!  He's back and he's Charles Delaware Tate.  I knew this happened but I must have blocked it from my mind or thought it happened much farther down the road.  He's persued by rich women and beautiful girls?   He calls Aristede.  Aristedee.  Apparently nobody on the set bothered to correct his pronunciation.  I can just see the actors and crew laughing behind his back on the set.
Charity sure has some nerve and to say that he's going to see some slut.  I wonder how they managed to get that past the censors.
Barnabas' appearance in the shadows comes off well and there is Jenny's picture on the mantel.  Quentin explains it.
We learn that the boy is buried in the woods near Sandor.  Why?  No headstone?   That doesn't make sense  except that they are trying to make it unmarked as it was in the present.  The girl looks like Jenny.  Too bad they never got  to do a story involving that generation of the family.  It would have answered a lot of questions or maybe just gave us more to puzzle about.
Edith supposedly commissioned a painting of Quentin.   Barnabas takes Jamison through the secret door.   The credits list a new scenic designer.    A lot happened in this episode.

The opening of the show seems to mark a new direction in that it says that the Count has wished them all evil and each will learn the truth about themselves and one by one be destroyed.
Excellent drawing room scene with Edward and Quentin.  One would think that Edward would be more willing to believe Quentin after all that has happened, but he seems to suffer from the same thickheadedness as his grandson Roger in these matters.
Why did Petofi send Beth to Barnabas?  Quentin is upset with Beth when he is promised to marry to Angelique?
Now Edward seems to have lost his mind.   I have no recollection of watching these last few shows.  I do remember that we went on vacation to Disneyland and when I got back I was totally confused as to what was going on so I'm guessing that these are the shows I missed.

Quentin comes to realize that Victor is the Count and the Count admits it.  Does Quentin kill animals as the Count apparently did with his Unicorn?
New props suddenly appear on the table in this episode.
The Count says, "I've paid my price. You must pay yours."   What will that price be?
Jamison is back and just in time to become possessed.  School must be out for the summer and time to give  David a bigger role in the show.

Very exciting episode even though the way Victor was only using his left hand gave away that he was Count Petofi long before Magda figured it out.

When Magda chopped up the hand and it was burned in the fire, it was obvious that it would have more power than to be destroyed so easily.  It was amusing when it turned up intact just after Magda thought it was gone.  How does it function on its own and how does it decide who to harm and who to help? It will be interesting to see how this is revealed.  Was it's plan all along to get Magda to bring it to Collinwood?  It now appears to want Tim to take possesion of it.
Charity is so blatantly after Quentin and apparently the Collins name is more important than that he has no money, no prospects and it constantly drunk and she must know that he and Beth are involved.  Pinching your cheeks isn't going to help. It looks like you have been out partying way too much for a ministers daughter.

I recalled Sandor arriving at the door, but it was a total surprise to see the knife in his back and that he was cold as if he had been dead for a long time.  Quick change between characters of Sandor and Victor.  I can't remember if we had realized that Thayer was playing both roles the first time watching.   Quentin loses his son before he even knew he had one.   So Victor killed Julianka.  If this was mentioned before or shown I sure missed it.

A kinescope episode and there is no Lara on the scene now.
Didn't Barnabas have a clue that the one person who could help was Julianka and perhaps keep an eye on her?  Apparently his thickheadedness continues even when forwarned.
Suddenly he thinks about the book that has been moldering in a collapsed building for years and yet here it is and in fine shape.  Considering how the book was supposedly published in the 60's and was full of lies, would he really think it would tell about Quentin?  LIz and Roger didn't even know about their great-uncle.   I guess to be fair Barnabas didn't know that Quentin was sealed up in the room and died there since David and Amy took away the bones.
Good scenes Beth and Quentin liked the line, "The only trip we're going to take is to Hell"
Julianka curses Magda in the same fashion as Angelique did Barnabas.  Is this to bond Barnabas and Magda together?

Quentin has 30 minute's left to live. Doe's this mean that by the end of the episode he will live or die?  I still can't get over the phoney looking blade.   The blade seems to have moved to an area where an involuntary response on Quentin's part could end this in less than 30 minutes.
I had a hard time following Barnabas and Angeliques conversation. It seemed they both went up on their lines at times.
Why is there so much make up on Aristede?    The table get's pushed away in the nick of time.

I remembered the pendulum as much bigger and menacing and here it is this tiny little thing not coming very close to it's intended victim.

The Blue Whale gets used but not by the biggest drinker in the family.  It seems odd that Quentin would not be there as a regular, but I suppose the need for a bartender and paying the actor to play him would be a problem.   Victor's hatred of the gypsies is comical for a rather imposing figure.
Barnabas is so self delusional.  He has changed everything so that there is probably nothing left of the original time whatever that may have been.  And why is Barnabas at the Old House when he is being hunted?

I imagine Trask is relishing in the circumstances that Judith will find herself in at Rushmore.  Edward seems to be acting as though he were in charge.  Where is Trask?
What would possess Angelique to marry Quentin?  His looks?  To try to make Barnabas jealous?  There should be some kind of motivation. Considering how she has gone through the centuries reminding Barnabas that she is his wife,  she should take her marriage vows more seriously, but then they have parted in death several times so maybe she feels it's over.   Victor is disturbingly creepy.
