The picture of Petofi gripping the phone, brings to mind that prosthetics were very primitive and expensive even in the 1960's as compared to today.  My uncle had real solid wooden leg that did not bend at the knee and after he died the family donated it to a veteran who needed one and could not afford to buy one.   I think that in 1897 it is unlikely that the hand would be more than a hook and it certainly would not be able to grip a phone.

Charles is in love with the ideal woman he painted?  How weird is he?
Trask wants Amanda at Collinwood.  I love Pansy  bumping Trask and how she describes his dimise.  Tied in a room alone where no one can hear him.
Tim reveals his plan.  Amanda is to become the bride of Trask and then his widow.  What fun.
Amanda is wearing the pin Tate painted. (Well sort of).

Petofi threatens to burn Collinwood and kill Jamison to break down Barnabas.  Can Aristede be trusted with the two torches not to set the lair afire.  Barnabas finally has a good point that there is no future if Jamison dies and Collinwood is burned.  Stalemate.

Tate and Petori equals torture to watch.  Amanda is suddenly leaving?  She has all she can take of Trask.  Can't blame her for that.   Amanda is the ideal woman?   The Old House is in shambles.  I always liked when they trashed the sets and still do.  Amanda doesn't know anything beyond two years ago.  It is so obvious where this is going.   King Johnny is here and he looks menacing.  The hand is back!

I liked how Petofi used the window to make Charity see her future.   What a twist that it shows him his short-lived future and he forgets that Charity's is short-lived.  Well I guess you could say that Charity's future is short-lived as she is now Pansy.  How does Petofi know about Pansy?  That makes no sense except that it will be a fun thorn in old Trask's side.
"You may start digging Aristede." is just way to funny.  Another person who must have someone do the dirty work for him.
"Did you think I had you dig it up to admire the woodwork,"  that is even funnier.   Apparently Petofi is keeing Aristede around for his beauty and brawn as there appears to be no brain.   King Johnny has come for the hand and Magda.  Things look to get even more fast paced.

Petofi and Tate. Boring.  It looks like Charles is wearing one of my Mother's old maternity smocks from the 60's .  Why is Petofi helping Quentin?   What a great line of Petofi's  "I have but one god, his name is Petofi."   Petofi claims now that he is helping Quentin because he is part of the future, but Petofi didn't know that until now.   Oh! it looks like Charity is in trouble.

We see the chained coffin in the lair again.  Quentin who usually plays things close to the vest, spills the beans to Petofi that David knows him in the  future.  I wonder how Jamison can be possessed by a grandson who isn't born yet and isn't dead either?   I can't help notice  Barnabas is imprisoned in a room  made up from the set of room he imprisoned Maggie Evans in at the Old House.
We learn that Beth killed herself from David.  A interesting plot twist.
I thought that the lighting on Barnabas in the coffin was really cool and spooky.  I also thought Beth made an excellent looking vampire.  What if she had made  Quentin a vampire?  Would he still change to a werewolf on a full moon?

Now if Laura had said, "A boy who lived in the moment and didn't think of the consequences of his actions." I would believe that.  Glad to see you back always enjoy reading your comments.

The coffin is in the lair now.  How does Barnabas get away?  My fourty year later memory hasn't a clue.  My fourty year younger self would be thinking how could you not remember.    The hand looks different again.  Do they use a different one every time?   Jamison awakens as David and Quentin realizes that David knows him in the future.  This leads to all kinds of Questions and the one person who can answer them, if he will, is captive.

Interesting that Barnabas can't disappear.   The greatest mistake of his life?   How short is his memory?  I'd have to say Angelique in 1795.   Barnabas and Quentin teamed up to save the Collins family.  The brief glimpse into the present time made me miss it.  I remember our childhood group of watchers wondering how Julia became Magda so soon after with all that makeup.  Barnabas chained in the coffin by Petofi leaving Quentin to save the day?

Petofi reappears in the lair.  Barnabas has somehow learned that if Petofi dies so will Jamison.  How he came to this conclusion when so many other simple things elude him perhaps one will never know.   I think Aristede's make up artist has gotten to Quentin.
David Hensey opened his eyes and looked off camera then went back into the coma.  The hand gained a lot of weight,

So, how is it that Quentin's son originally died?  [hdscrt]
I had the same question  and it seemed that originally he was buried in the woods and I'm sure they said in the Barnabas altered timeline that he was buried next to Sandor.  And what was the purpose of the pentagram being buried with him?

Denise Nickerson returns after what seemed like a long absence to find Edward not himself and strangling Quentin.  Tim also reappears with Amanda and from their conversation we are led to believe she is a high priced call girl and likes to brag about it.  Hopefully, the plan to expose Trask will work.  Tim must be crazy to think that the hand would be safe at Collinwood and with Nora.  There are numerous other places he could hide it and also have an easier time of retrieving it when he needs it.

I kept wondering why the Afghan is around the bottom of the crib.  What was it hiding?  Are the prop people just trying to make sure it appears on everything that is a bed at least once?  Despite that distraction, I thought, that it was a well played and poignant scene.  Quentin too late realizes what he had and lost with Jenny.  Quentin still appears to not be mature enough to realize that the only way to keep Lenore safe is to give her up until he has his drunken dream in the drawing room.  I was not surprised to see in the credits that this was written by the dream lady.

The reenactment is lighted as a night scene unlike  in the previous episode.  It is prettier. I guess they are trying to make it more sexier for the continuation of the scene between Quentin and Charity.
Aristede primping in front of the mirror is too funny and then Magda catches  him.  I hated Aristede as a child when he seemed to be scary, but now I hate him because of his loud and stilted line delievery.    Jenny has come to save the day.
