Instead of being freaked out by Dorcas's ghost, Quentin should be thanking his lucky stars that she didn't go to Trask.
Perhaps, she gained in death, the lack of perspective she had in life toward Trask and was thanking her lucky stars

Julia goes into the past and with so many doors, I was hoping that she'd come out into some totally unexpected place.  That would have been a fun story.  The music is really eerie and the the screaming.  I had to laugh at Charity calling Julia's dress barely decent.  Julia is even more confused than Vickie. but Quentin, now heroic, is able to save Barnabas.

Amy is gone when the music starts in this episode set in the present day drawing room.  The 1897 bulbs are still there in the foyer.  Beth speaks in the present and reveals what she knows.  Terry Crawford seems to blow her lines.   The drawing room set seems to be part 1969 part 1897.  Beth plans suicide and Jamison interupts her and rejects Quentin  This would make sense if for some reason one believed that Jamison had a deep affection for Beth or perhaps even a crush on her.  Quentin crazily goes to the tower.  Why not go for help?  Then a very non ghostlike Quentin is at the present day Collinwood with David who dies.

When Julia and Prof. Stokes read Barnabas's note, they realized that the events of 1897 and 1969 were happening concurrently. It was the same date in 1969!
I thought this was an interesting  development as  before in the glimpses into the present all we knew was that David was dying and lingering for quite a long time.  This is in total contrast to Vickie's trip to the past where she was only missing from the present for a few minutes.
This was an exciting episode with the story running concurrently, and the statement that Barnabas Collins was dead.  It did not make sense that Edward could block the passage from the cell in the Old House.  I noticed that there was a gas jet lighting the basement of the Old House.  When did the family find the time to pipe in gas to a long deserted house and why?  And then in the present day the fake old fashioned light bulbs are still in the pole lamps in the foyer

Tate discovered that whatever he drew appeared. [ghost_cheesy]
How did he not know this beforehand?  We know that Amanda has been around for two years and nothing has clued him in before?  I realize this is a RD character, but really.  ANd then he freaks.  I'd be painting lots of jewels, money, etc.
Then he manhandles the vase like it was one of his leading ladies.

It was clever how they sequenced from Quentin's portrait to Amanda's.  I agree that Tate is boring.  He is also stupid as he spills the beans about Petofi's involvement and Quentin once again threatens to kill.  It seems they are reversing the Jeff/Victoria storyline with Tate/Amanda.
I didn't remember Charity/Pansy being so whacked.

Quentin does not change and he makes Trask the fool.  Petofi reveals to Quentin there will be a price to pay.  Apparently Quentin's attractions are more alluring to Amanda than the prior disgust she felt for Trask.   Now there are Beth, Angelique, Charity and Amanda all vying for Quentin.   Yeah! I'n finally caught up, but just in time for my cousins to arrive for two weeks and surely put me behind again.

Trask takes Quentin to the cell in the basement.  Why did Quentin not know that this was there and lock himself in on other nights of the full moon?  Apparently the same person built the cell in the old house,  the lair of Petofi, and this one.  Do they all have secret escapes behind the wall with the vent?
Angelique tries to get Trask to commit suicide, but unfortunately Petofi defeats her this time.  Petofi bring the portrait of Quentin to Collinwood.  A suspenseful episode.

Trask thinks that the Almighty will cure Charity, but so far only the witch has been able to change events.  Trasks begs Minerva to leave him alone, but then it's Tessie's ghost who tells him about Quentin.  Finally Quentin decides to chain himself up.  Trask seems to have the upper hand.

Another Lara Parker episode in a row.  It's all good.  Angelique has come to the rescue again and tied up a number of dangling storylines, and she will marry Quentin within the month as her price.  Jamison asks Quentin why he is trying to kill David.  It makes one wonder how all these supernatural events have changed Jamison and what effect they have on him.  Edward true to the form of the male head of the  Collins family, refuses to believe that anything supernatural has happened.
How different Charity is in her actions as she has become Pansy.  I'd forgotten she has real visions of the future and this one predicts Quentin's death on September 10th.  A bloody death in the tower room.

Unfortuntely Aristede kills King Johnny and Petofi keeps the hand.  I'm not sure I care for the Petofi storyline.  It seems to have come out of nowhere.  Why does he want to harm the Collins famiy?  If they had indicated that he wanted to inhabit Collinwood for some reason or he had been injured by the family in some way, it might make sense.   His desire now to get Barnabas has a reasoning behind it now that he has learned Barnabas sent the gypsy to his lair.
David is covered by the afghan and recognizes Cassandra.  Will this have any consequences?
Petofi's line, "You, May start digging. Aristede," was entertaining.

Magda is going over Widow's Hill.   Barnabas comes to the rescue out of night and uses his powers to send they gypsy with no tongue over the hill.  I wish Barnabas had consistant powers or they explained why they work sometimes and others they don't.   Sandor spilled the beans about Barnabas.  I didn't see that one coming.   Johnny agrees to help Quentin.  So why did Magda just not ask for help in the first place and not steal the hand?  The door to the Old House is actually bolted!    King Johnny's blade looks real.  I wonder why they gave Aristede a paper one?  Maybe they were afraid he's cut himself or someone else.   Ready set to cut off the hand again.

King Johnny admits he put the knife in Sandors back and killed him.  So his death was not really the result of Julianka's curse as this happened before he died and eplains why he was cold as if he'd been dead a long time.   The appearance of the ghosts to judge Magda was well done.

The standoff continues somewhat, but Petofi finally gives in and a confused Barnabas is free and he and Quentin leave the lair.  Unfortunately there is another Tate sighting and he is going on and on about his dream girl.  Will he paw her to death when he actually meets her?

I was a little confused.  I thought that Pansy had totally taken over Charity, but it seems that she is still interested in Quentin.  The original Pansy didn't come across as being a murderer.
The standoff between Quentin and Petofi was amusing.  I thought Petofi had him and then Quentin dropped the Angelique bomb and blew Petofi out of the water.  Great fun.  Where is Angelique anyway?
