One could see this coming as Beth forsakes Petofi and kisses Quentin with Petofi's mind.   Grayson Hall coughs enthusiastically offstage.  Aristede taunts Petofi with Quentin's mind.  Petofi needs Quentin's body in the future as a host.  I already see problems with this scenario, but maybe, they will be successfully explained later on.  One wonders why Petofi with all his powers did not correct his eyesight and try to make himself look less grotesque.  If he just had shaved off the beard and ridiculous mustache, then get a haircut, the gypsies would find him unrecognizable.  It just seems totally ridiculous that Quentin cannot come up with some things to tell people so that they know who is really is.

Petofi goes into a trance and begins to take over Quentin who appears to be clueless as to what is going on.  Perhaps he should use some of the black magic he is supposed to practice, but rarely does to try and get the rid of the ring.   Beth realizes she loves Quentin and goes to him.

It is interesting that Kitty thinks that Q's ring is like one her husband wore.  I can't be the same one since the gypsies had that one.  Did Petofi have more?   Why is it so important that Gerald died penniless?  It would seem that she could get more mileage out of being destitute in her quest to snare Edward.

That's  interesting that she buys that.  I don't recall that purchase as I have only seen some of 1841 parallel time and some of the Leviathon since fourty years ago.   My theory would give the writers more credit than they seem capable of anyway. One would have to assume there was a long term plan for the show.

I know what you meant in the spoiler,  but I couldn't help  thinking it applied to the actress who protrayed her as well.

I've been thinking about the way Angelique behaves in 1897 and it seems that
she could be the Angelique of the Leviation time where she has moved on
This to me would explain her change in attiude towards Barnabas and her involvement with Quentin.

Today we get the many loves of Barnabas Collins.  Angelique's line, "She reminds me of someone I loathe."  In the present tense even though Cosette is a hundred years dead.   Does that mean that her pursuit of Barnabas is more out of hatred for Cosette than actual love of Barnabas?   She appears to be over Barnabas but not her hated for Cosette.
Then there is her scene with Julia where they appear almost friendly, but Angelique must realize that Barnabas would never be interested in someone Julia's age or with her capabilities.
Is Angelique behind the apparent possession of Kitty?  It seems to make her more appealing to Edward.  Are the writers giving acknowledgement to the boys Jamison's age who had a crush on KLS?

Angelique is forcefully convincing in this scene.  I guess it doesn't take much for her to fall in love and it doesn't matter that the man does not love her in return.  I still have a hard time with the love at first sight she developes towards Quentin unless the writers are trying to put the viewers desires onto Angeligue.  Dan Curtis did say in the interview that he was well aware of the audience and wrote for them as long as it was something he was interested in and a classic story.

The  Tim and Charity relationship just rings false.  They appear to have no affection for one another.  The Trasks should according to character wanted Charity to marry up all along and not settle for an orphan teacher whom they have under their control already.

Tate loses him ability to paint.  Will this mean that is bargin with Petofi is over?
Quentin's plan to be witht he woman he loves the most is stopped by Angelique.  Will he let her kill Amanda horribly and painfully?   What would be the point?  If she's dead then he has no reason to leave.  So, Amanda must be gone for good. It seemed that she was a more important and longer part of 1897 in the original run, but I'm guessing that her line delivery made each appearance more notable and thus more memorable and now I can say not in a good way.

The star crossed lovers plan to flee together but fate seems to thwart them.   If Quentin loves Amanda as much as he claims, then why not tell her he's not quite human himself and put her mind at ease about her status?   Tate and Trask manage to cause trouble for the lovers .  Amanda seems to finally rid herself of Trask after she tells him he lives a life of lies.  I can't imagine it will cause any great change in his character to learn this.  Will she take the train?  One can only hope that she does and I won't have to adjust the volume down on her scenes anymore.

Yes, it's to bad that Joan Bennett is on what seems like the longest Vacation ever
ANd still not back as of  Episode 851
Would Trask have comitted Charity to save his image to his new wealthy wife?  or resort to another murder?

Lady Hampshire thinks that Petofi is behind the music box.  They appear to have an interesting backstory.  later Quentin tells her the box belonged to Barnabas whose portrait she had flashes of earlier.
Julia is determined to stay and carry out Barnabas' mission whatever that may be at this time.
Aristede has returned. Apparently being out in the world alone was less preferable to facing the wrath of and face slapping he got on his return.
Beth looks into the cabinet and sees modern Collinwood and Quentin and revealing that Quentin will be in 1968 and living at Collinwood.  Apparently all will be forgiven for his ghostly haunting, murder and nearly causing David's death.

This episode should be titled "Everyone loves Amanda."   Quentin, Tim and Chas all vie for Amanda's affection and she chooses Quentin.  He refuses to believe that Tate could have created Amanda, despite the fact that he is a practitioner of the black arts and has witnessed many supernatural events in a short time.  The most exciting thing was that Tate took Q's portrait and that says a lot.
