Joe and Carolyn actually dance together.
Maggie looks around the foyer of Collinwood and gives a slight smile, as if, she is planning one day to live there or maybe the actress herself was making plans.

Roger looks out the open Drawing room window clearly deep in thought.
Sam goes to Burke's room and surprise wants a drink.  Sam denies killing Bill.  Really? I'd have thought he'd jump at the chance to confess to Burke.  Money, Booze, and not having to work mean more than freindship to Sam.  Maggie earlier said that it all went wrong ten years ago, but Sam had to have all these tendencies before that.  She was probably too young to notice and then the money made it easier for him.  Since the money is apparently now all gone, it doesn't seem to bother Sam that he is living off Maggie.
Vickie returns to Collinwood and Roger compells her to reveal the secrests of the dinner party and Burkes version of the killling.
Vickie says she knows Roger lefdt at 10:35 because she heard the door close.  How does she know someone wasn't coming in or just checking outside?

Vickie finds the picture at the Evans' that looks like she, but curious Maggie has never come across it before or Sam not thought that Vickie looks like someone he used to know?  Sam reveals his version of the manslaughter case and then Burke reveals his version.

Vickie comes in with wrapped packages.  I wonder if they are the same ones Carolyn had in an earlier shopping spree. It's a ten minute drive to Roger's office so Collinwood isn't very far from town.  THe walk to town would not be so bad down the hill, but back up no so much fun.

David sees ghosts and they are his friends so to him death would not be the end but just another state of being.
Sam calls Carolyn, Caroline.  He should know the right name of the daughter of the wealthiest person in town.
David lies on the drawing room floor as if it were a normal living room.  "what other kid gets to live in a house with real ghosts. They are all my friends."
David later comes in all dirty and Carolyn calls him morbid.  One gets the hint that Carolyn prefers to be the only child in the house and has a difficult time sharing and if this were a normal house she'd still find him irritating.

It's possible I'm remembering something from four years ago when I watched the DVD( I only know this because Amazon keeps track of this for me) ,
I recall that Carolyn was telling Vickie about David]  One of the joys of old age is I have a vague Idea of the major plotlines but not much of the highlights.  When I taped the episodes off the Syfy many years ago with the intention of watching them again in my old age, little did I know it would come so soon.

VIckie shares the sad story of her lonely past with Maggie.  I'm surprised Maggie hasn't gotten the story from some other person or gotten it out of  Vickie herself as  Vickie's been in town six days now.  I'm actually surprised that Vickie didn't tell her the first time they met.

There were 130 beds in the foundling home.  That seems like a lot, but it sounds like it was a private institution so they could probably pack in as many as they could.
Roger and Sam get their story straight surrounding Bill.
Vickie decides to take Carolyn's car into town.

Sam refers to Bill in the past tense and then later wants to get the letter back.  This makes no sense as he still needs the protection as Roger isn't dead.  He is probably worried Maggie will read it, but the thing to have done in the first place would have been to leave it with a lawyer. The Evans family learns that Bill is dead.

Roger walks along the docks and enters his office in an exterior scene.
Matthew tells his mistress that he pushed the body out to sea to spare Collinwood.  They should have filmed an exterior shot of that incident.

Vickie states in the voiceover that Collinwood is now her home.  The foundling home and New York must have been really awful if she so readily takes this strange place as her home.   Her interactions that we see with the people of her past don't appear all that bad, although she does have some rather awful remembrance of some that she retells from memory.
David seems to be gleeful in bringing up that Vickie was screaming in the night as she tries to deflect his questions.  He then states among all his other references to death, that he will kill anyone who harms his aunt.  I seem to recall that
in an earlier episode David killed something he loved.
David does inform Vickie that he will attend her funeral.  Yes, Vickie would be well advised to have David read all the books that were ripped off by the writers of DS and base her lesson plans on that, if she has lesson plans.

Carolyn states that it was always strange at Collinwood, but it wasn't until Vickie and Burke arrived that things really began to happen. Could Vickie's arrival set off the spirit world?  or what about Roger and David.  They have just returned and David claims he is in contact with all the ghosts of Collinwood. Vickie is determined to stay and Carolyn says she knows it was a body at the foot of Widow's Hill.
Maggie mentions the summer people who come to Collinsport. They apparently don't eat out much at the diner or populate the hotel whose only guest appears to be Burke.
Carolyn and Vickie decide to sleep together in Vickie's room and then the phone rings so  Vickie gets up and runs downstairs.
They find the Collins History book on the floor.  After they leave the book opens by itself to Josette Collins 1810-1834. Another event that only the audience knows.

The opening is a replay of the scream scene from last episode.  I think this is the first time they have done this, although it was a common serial formula in the 1960's.
Loved the interchange with Elizabeth and Roger.  It underscores how useless he really is.
Roger and Matthew are both acting stranger than usual.
Vickie reveals that David said he saw in his crystal ball that  Bill was dead  and that Roger had killed him.

Another Bette Davis connection is on the In This Our Life DVD.  There is a featurette of the Warner Bros stars in Washington D.C. meeting the Brass and then driving around in Jeeps.   Joan Bennett is seen shaking hands and in the company of the Warner A list stars such as Claudette Colbert.
Also A Stolen LIfe is much like the Alexis/ Angelique story.

Vickie leaves the house to go to Widow's Hill in a filmed exterior shot.  There she meets up with Carolyn who says there are Ghost's everywhere.  Then there is a beautiful shot of the water below.  Then there is the "Death Sequence" that Dark Lady mentions, and finally it culminates in Vickie screaming as a body bobs in the water.  A well thought out script.
