These photos are from a vampire called "Suck" that my neice gave me. She said it was vampires and Alice Copper and she knows I like both. It's a lot better than I expected. The house in the photo is the vampires lair.

They both remind me of DS. It's a vampire rock show Lou Reed, Alex Lifeson of Rush, Iggy Pop, Henry Rollins, Dave Foley and Malcolm McDowell star. McDowell plays Eddie Van Helsig.

On 09/07 at 9PM on the SyFy channel the Ghost Hunters will visit Collinwood! That's right we will learn if Seaview / Collinwood is haunted. This should be cool. The episode is titled "Dark Shadows"!

If you are one of the few DS fans that don't know this book you should. It's the story of an orphan named Jamie that finds a vampire chained in a coffin. It includes his life before and after the event. It's about the hospital he spends time in for kidnapping and the rich family that lives in a mansion on the hill. It's by S.E. Hinton that wrote "The Outsiders", "Rumble Fish", "Tex" and "That Was Then, This Is Now" all have been made into movies. "Hawkes Harbor" would make a great movie.

So who's a "Hawkes Harbor" fan?

Anyone reading it? It's a great book. I have about 50 pages to go. Great story, great writing. There are some susprises that I had to get used to. There are people and events that you wonder just how much is based on real people and real events, and there are things that you know are based on real people and real events. I'd love to see this made into a movie.

In your opinion what makes Dark Shadows, Dark Shadows?

Let's face facts, the original paperback series, the original comicbook series, the newspaper comic series, had nothing to do with the original story lines of the show. So what made the show special? Was it the setting, the monsters, the gothic love stories, the writers, the actors, was it Dan Curtis?

Another way to ask the question is, is there anything they can do that would make you say "WTF!? That's not Dark Shadows?!" Not just with the new movie but in a new comic or a new series of books. If Stephen King wrote a DS book could he write something that would cause you to say "That's not DS!"?

I just want to know if there's a line that could be crossed. Is there a "too far"? Would you be ok with a DS porn movie or a DS slapstick comedy? Maybe adult DS novels or an extremely gory DS video game? Are you willing to go out on a limb and say "If they do that....I'm out."? Maybe an incest story with David and Carolyn? Maybe a rape or child abuse story?
Any of these stories could bring new fans to the original show. So what would go to far? What is DS and what would cause you to say "Not in my DS"?

There's even a new DS book out with a front cover in the style of the classic Marilyn Ross books, You can even get it for your Kindle at Amazon. I don't know if it's any good but the point is that no one has stopped it. It's called "To Live Again: A Dark Shadows Novel" by Emily Hornaday. It looks like you can only get it for the kindle.

Why would they allow a new novel that is being sold, not given away, but not allow something that is free?

David Leinweber has two songs on "YouTube" that were inspired by our favorite TV show. The first one he wrote is call "Daphne", the newest on is called "Pretty Maggie of Maine". He has kind of a folk music / country rock style and I think they're very good. He has a facebook page as well. He is getting ready to release an entire CD of songs inspired by DS. He says it will be a concept album and that it should be ready for release soon. Check his stuff out and if you like it let him know.

That's right, a Dark Shadows Wedding Shower. My neice wanted to have a Dark Shadows wedding but there are those that were not very happy with that idea, so she is going to have a DS wedding shower. Had it been the wedding I would have lots of ideas but how does one have a DS wedding shower? Any ideas?

I don't know about the rest of you but I'd love to have a "Collinwood". Of course the first one should be based on Seaview. If we can get that done we could then start work on getting an "Old House" and maybe then a "Lyndhurst" and so on. I have been to the "True Blood" sites and they had every things from drinks to paper dolls. So I challenge all DS fans, frankly I don't have the tallent, to create DS paper dolls and the like. I know someone out there has the talent to create things like these. They shouldn't be for sale, just for download. I just don't want to hear people say thaty DS is "Johnny Come Lately". If I knew how I would do it, but I don't, so I challenge all, Ds fans to "one up" all of these real Johnny Come Latelies. You can do better than they can. I will try to come up with something new, and anyone that has the knowhow, should be ready before I am. If it's good I'd be more than happy tpo buy it, so let's get going. DS fans.........Show your colors!
