Usually it's mothers or fathers who toss things without asking. I would guess that this is a bossy older sibling.  I'd probably have my first fistfight in decades if either of my brothers, both of whom are younger, did that.

Kathy Resch's Concordances can be ordered here http://www.morgandawn.com/kathy_resch_darkshadows.htm
As for the book you mentioned, are you referring to "The Introduction of Barnabas?  If so, as far as I know, it's out of print. I believe you confused the title "Resurrection of Barnabas" with the MPI Video. I could be wrong, but I don't recall a book with that title. Either way, I'd check Amazon and other online book sellers.

I enjoy the comics for what they are and also take into account when they were published. I just wish that Hermes would provide Amazon with stock. SUPPOSEDLY the book is out, but Amazon has an indefinate delivery date.  We went through that with volume 1. I guess it was too much to hope it would be corrected for the second edition.

By the way, I recommend the  other LA Theater Works CDs.  The Caine Mutiny is a favorite of mine.  Selby plays Queeg.  He's in several titles.

Do they always release these shows on CD?  This is something would buy.

SOAPnet's chances of survival are certainly decreased with the demise of the two soaps. If the efforts to save the two shows fail, the network is left with less than 2/3 of its current daily programming. 5 and a half TV hours of shows will probably be reduced to 3 and a half.

It would be nice if some station like Lifetime partnered with the producers of the soaps to have several stand along TV movies per year.  I think there would be a significant market for them.  In fact, perhaps a weekly, hour long format would work.

I think the author's analysis of what was in the mind of the artist that created the poster might be correct. Who knows if the guy even saw the movie? He might have been given some stills to work with and cranked out the poster. Remember, this was a creation of the publicity department, not DCP. The author saw the poster and probably jumped to the conclusion that this line of thinking was in the minds of the director and writers. If you have a preconceived notion, it's often easy to find support for it.

I had a WTF moment when I heard that VAL KILMER?? wasa playing Jim Morrison in The DOORS.  I wound up thinkng he was robbed at the Oscars. The movie was a disaster in terms of getting the facts straight. I won't go into detail, but I've read many, many bios of Morrison. No one has ever recounted a story about him trying to burn his common law wife Pamela allive for doing heroin!!  I had prejudgeed the film based upon the casting. It turned out that was the leasrt of my worries. Batman fans, myself NOT INCLUDED, made the same mistake when he was cast as Bruce Wayne.  Again there were other problems with the movie, but Val wasn't one of them.

Current Talk '11 I / Re: Costello Signature
« on: April 03, 2011, 08:07:13 PM »
I'm not an expert, but being an English teacher, I'd say I have some experience with matching signatures to handwritten text. These appear to be written by the same person, Robert Costello.
Here's another example.
1. Pre-tape of memory scence picked up cross talk, had to break for lunch, and do it later. Much time lost.
2. Taped Dress-NO time to tape "AIR".
This was regarding episode 584. Taken to the hidden room in the mausoleum, Maggie (Kathryn_Leigh_Scott) begins to remember her awful experiences of the past year. Barnabas (Jonathan_Frid) decides the only way to save Victoria is to kill Adam, aired September 19, 1968, taped September 12th.   http://www.starpulse.com/Movies/Dark_Shadows:_Episode_584-V247965/Summary/

At the 2006 Festival, Jim Pierson was auctioning off a box of documents from the Curtis archives. This one was a box of script pages, the ones dealing with scene summaries and cast lists.  They have handwritten notes with things like Betsy Durkin's telephone number, the voice over used to announce that "the part of Carolyn Stoddard will be played by Miss Diana Walker", notes on "pre-tape sequences", doodles of faces on the pages, the name Molly is crossed out and replaced with Amy.  Many have nothing written on them. Most bear the name COSTELLO.  I theorize that these were pages from his scripts and were either identified as such by him, or by some unkown office person. It just occurred to me to compare the other writing with the signature. DUH!! That should be helpful!

Of course it's also possible that the cover that appears on Amazon now may not be the image that's ultimately used. There have been cases where Amazon had an alternate version from what was eventually published. This was the case with Lara's first book, for example.

554
I forgot to mention that the cover image has been changed. Since I've never seen the pic from the Digest anywhere else, I wonder if the original copy of the photo has been lost. It doesn't seem to be the likely reason though. It can't be too hard to track down a mint copy of the book and use that as the template for the reprint. With photoshop and other software, I can't imagine it would be too hard to make that shot workable for the cover. They're using another, more familiar publicity still in its place.

Apparently the Gold Key Story Digest is being reprinted. Amazon says it's due out on Aug 16th.  The original had 144 pages, but the listing says it has 176. It also makes the following claim "this book presents a complete extended story with accompanying artwork".  I'm not sure if this means that there restored portions that were excised in the orignal edition or if they are assuring the reader that it's a self contained longer story.  Either way, it probably has some articles and other "special features".
