They are shown arriving at the party. I think we see Parker, Scott, and Selby dancing later too.

I'm ambivalent, but plan to see it again, at least twice and buy it on DVD, so I guess thumbs up.

Colin has been very well received by fans of the audio dramas. His Doctor is toned down and brilliant. The DS audio he did was also very popular, especially for new fans.

It's time for Hollywood to understand that people who are 18 don't have that much money or sophistication.  Okay, so a movie like The Avengers has broken records.  It happens.  The bottom line for Hollywood is the almighty buck.  That's understandable.  The 1% need to eat, too (even chateaubriand every day).  But if the over-24 crowd is appreciated and things are marketed towards them, then maybe the 1% can have some Bernaise Sauce on their chateuabriand.  I have no intention of seeing The Avengers.  Neither do any of my friend (most have no concept of what it is).

I'm not writing to defend the Avengers, just to clarify. I don't think it should be put in the same category as Avatar. The Avengers has a history dating back to WWII with the introduction of Captain America. For me, the Avengers are almost as near and dear to my heart as DS. I collected Marvel comics and waited with bated breath each month for the new "CAP", Iron Man, Hulk (he was not an Avenger when I collected), and many, many others. Like DS these stories continued on and on like a soap opera. We learned in Avengers 57 that the android Vision was created from the burned out body of WWII era Human Torch. DS had multiple Quentins. Marvel had two versions of the Human Torch, one an android, the other a human altered by cosmic rays (see the Fantastic Four).  I believe the Avengers deserves all the success it has achieved. It is the movie that I had wanted to see since I was ten years old and wondered if Thanos would conquer the universe with THE COSMIC CUBE. This little relic made the rounds, like the Hand of Count Pefofi. Doctor Doom wielded it, so did The Red Skull, and many other meglomaniacs. I could go on and on about parallels between Marvel comics and DS. I'm going to defer instead by merely stating that I think the appeal of the film goes back to the generation that first watched DS. Joss Whedon wrote a script that is true to that long and rich history.

I agree with Gothick. My priority has always been the restoration of NODS. I can live with any film as long as it's failure doesn't get in the way of that project.

I have every single one of these releases and have not been disappointed in any of them yet. My personal preferences are for the audio dramas!  My favorite audiobook is probably The Path of Fate.

DS definately ran on Sci-Fi UK, but I believe the run was brief. If I'm remembering correctly, there was an editorial decision regarding televising shows that were not science fiction. I'm relying heavily on an increasngly flawed memory, so don't quote me.

I'm also fairly certain I've seen UK promo materials for HODS at least. Again, I won't state that as a fact.

I read somewhere on Amazon, it might have been in the reviews, that there are 20 episodes, plus a bonus disk. The 3rd one has material already released in the US.

I was never much of an Alice Cooper fan. I can't explain why. I love some of his songs. He's certainly not too outrageous for me; I'm a diehard KISS and DOORS fan. It's too bad the movie's set to early for KISS. If asked, Gene probably would have killed the deal by asking for too much money. Oh well...

I don't think these were mentioned. I scanned the list but didn't read carefully. I'm afraid if I wait until I have time to check thoroughly I'll never get around to it.
For Mr. Devlin-Burke's Law
For Ms. Harrington-Buffy the Vampire Slayer or maybe Family Affair
For Laura-Phoenix
Quentin might like to tune into Falcon Crest and comment on how much Richard looks like him!
Carl-Joker's Wild
Old Edith-I've Got a Secret
Sheriff Patterson-The Andy Griffith show (for research)

I think I remember KLS saying it was a hotel water glass with a lid held on with masking tape and having to hold it so that the tape was not visible.

I can't speak for all theaters. We have cinemark in this area. I went to their website and typed in my zip code. That sent me to all the theaters in my area. I clicked on the one that is closest to me, and it gave me today's times. If you go to the tab that says "more", it will bring up a calendar. I went to May and clicked on the 11th. DS is playing on that date. Now, I'm working that day and don't plan to go to the midnight show Wed/Thu.  I also am not using a sick day. I find that the shows that start between 4:00 and 5:00 are usuallay relatively lightly attended. I'll buy a ticket ahead of time and hit that show. It'll probably be about half full, but I prefer to be safe rather than sorry. That showing is at the dinner hour, so only the die-hards usually go.

Thanks! I heard about it today and forgot to check. I missed the local airing but managed to set a timer for good ol' WSBK TV out of Boston (former home of Da Bruins!!!).

The covers of the German reprints were quite...different.....  The artist's conception of Barnabas did not fit the mood or the tone of the novels. Ross wrote about a very romantic Barnabas. It's difficult to reconcile his Byronic description of our favorite vampire with the grotesque cover images. Here's an example.

I'm thinking about selling my German reprints of the Ross novels. I want to go home (Newport, RI) for a month this year, but it's expensive. Does anyone have any tips on how to sell on EBay? I've never sold anything there. I'm also wondering what these items might be worth. It's hard to part with them, but I don't read German, and even if I did, I have the English versions!. I also have high quality scans of the covers, so they're really not essential to my collection. Any input would be welcome. I have no idea what these are worth.
