well the sale said $25.49 now it says $27.49 so it's not much of a leap. but thanx you for the news.

thanxs for the article. & i think it's just a bad pic. he he.

i've heard that to,  the sad that about her is that she died soon after the show got Cancelled. so in a way we are lucky we have the entire show with her, since Aunt Clara & Gladis or however ya spell her name, well the actress's both died during the run. & it did get me thinking about HOW many santanic movies were coming out during the 70's. on tv & in the theatre.

i do agree though "DS" was NOT a supernatural show when it 1st came out. my guess they just hear it's about vampires. & such. & prolly have NEVER even seen an episode before. & if they had it's after it became one. personally i have NOTHING against religion but people who are like this that take things to damn far just get in my nerves. it just feels like they need to really GET a freaking life. not everything is about christ.  i don't think any of us are going to hell if we watch a horror movie & it's got say Christopher Lee talking to satan. i also doubt god will hold that against him either. since i'm sure he knows that's only a movie. or a tv show. but than what do i know, i thankfully don't have to put up with these people. thank god

well at the moment i'm watching the 1st Set. that i bought when it 1st came out. i'm on Episode #10 at the moment. so that's a bit far ahead to jump. he he thank you though.

275
well i hope the script at some point is avaliable online for people to read it. so we can let our minds rest easier than they are NOW! buut maybe it's a good sign that they got a NEW writer? i dunno i guess i'm just Choosing to think Postive rather than negative for a change. he he.

276
oh i thought it was Alec Newman? i guess i was wrong! he he oh well anyways you are right though he's Great as Barnabas

277
i agree, & i think he's pretty much admitted that as well. i think the only reason he's doing the Cons NOW is cause he's in his 80's. & i think he also realizes that the show is NOT going to to away. i read an interview recently that he said he was simply aweful in "Dark Shadows" i don't think he was actually. but i can understand his frustration with the character back than.

i can fully understand why he wanted to play "Bramwell" back than as well. but the ONLY downside to him playing that is 2 things, the show getting Cancelled. & the storyline that they chose for it wasn't very good. it's i think starts out good but than when the show got Cancelled was rushed. that's how it feels to me. so i think he did enjoy that role cause it was a nice breath of fresh air.  on the show "Law & Order" if you wanted to be on that show you would have to realize that you won't get really HARDLY any character development.  tiny bits here & there & that's about it. cept for this last season & season 7 i think? or was it season 6? one or the other the last season with "Claire Kincaid"  anyways my point is i think he had to

kinda force himself to do the role in a way. the longer he was in it i mean. i'm sure he loved the work. but doing the same part over a long period of time got to him after awhile. & if i'm not mistake that's also why he wanted the role or "Quentin" to be created as well? cause it was VERY difficult for him to remember all his lines. i also think that if the show hadn't gotten Cancelled when it did. that he prolly would have left it not long afer anyways, at some point he would have. i'm guessing it prolly wouldn't have been a soap that lasted 20 years like some of them cause "J.Frid" i don't think could stand playing that role as long as some people would play. cause like you said. he considers himself a Serious Actor.

& he kinda did get stuck in the Horror Genre. i think he is right when on why he quit doing movies & tv. that he prolly would be blacklisted i forget the term into that particular Genre. if you look at the films he DID end up doing they are Horror films. & he realized that's all he was going to get. so he just said screw it & Quit.  it kinda reminds me of "Bela Lugosi" he in Germany played drama parts in film if i'm not mistaken & in plays. & when he started with "Dracula" & did the film he got stuck with the horror Genre the rest of his life. even though he did do a few comedies here & there.

Boris Karloff NEVER had a problem with it. he loved it cause he was grateful for a Career.  Horror Films gave that to him. & he NEVER forgot it. i think "Frid" is grateful that "Dark Shadows" gave him a career but i don't think he wanted or planned on doing JUST those types of roles. i think he's more like "Christopher Lee" he wanted & wants to be known more for his other roles. if you say something to Mr. Lee about how that's best known for. he'll get angry  cause he doesn't want that.

he's also grateful for the horror Genre for giving him a Career as well. but he's done other roles that have become VERY Famous & likes to be known for those as well. where he got lucky & was able to do various roles in really basically every Genre there is. where J. Frid didn't have that. i think he craved it. i think he's also grateful to his fans as well. but for those

who have seen him act in plays through the years. i think he enjoys hearing stories about that even more. this is just one guys opinion. i may be wrong on some of it. so in short i'm just guessing. he he.

ya know looking at these video's & looking up at their ages online. it's actually HARD to believe how old the cast has gotten.

& they look pretty good i think. thanxs for the clip as well. the ONLY bad thing about these clips is the sound isn't too good. but that's how it unfortunally normally sounds like at events like these. i think.  at least if you aren't there & they are recorded. at least that's how it feels like to me.

281
ya know 1stly i've got to say this, i don't think "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory" was THAT BAD! i kinda like it actually. only bad things things about it. is how each kid cept or Charlie of course is a little Punk. to keep my language Clean. he he.
& i don't think they needed to add that info about Wonka's Childhood but i do LOVE that Christopher Lee is in the film. i'm NOT going to lie about that. he he. anyways, & the last thing i didn't like about it which i find the BIGGEST is that
Depp's Portrayal  of Wonka was TERRIBLE! i think he went in the WRONG Direction. i read at the time he tests the way he goes with this or that character on his kids 1st. to see what kids would like. & i guess his kids Enjoy Michael Jackson's Music cause that's who it reminds me of. Michael Jackson.

those are my only Gripes with the film. other wise it's NOT that bad of a film. my point is i don't think people would make such a BIG deal about Tim Burton & Johnny Depp doing "Dark Shadows" the film had those complaints NEVER happend. while i don't think "Sleepy Hollow" is his best film a LOT of people LOVE IT!  my only hope really is IF they DO, well DO the film is how is "Depp" who usually is pretty darn good at choosing on how to portray this or that Character cept  For Wonka would be good at playing "Barnabas" as long as it's TRUE to the show & the character i can't wait to see it. & i think since Depp & i forget if "Burton" is a fan to be honest, anyways if they are true to the show i don't think it's going to be THAT bad. people will crab about whoever makes it anyways, because we are soo freaking used to the original show. which will ALWAYS be the best. people complain about the remake that came out in (1991) but i like it even if it has it's flaws. i thought Ben Cross did an Excellent Job with the role. given what material he was given. & i'd LOVE to see a Remake of the show. with Alec Newman in the role cause i LOVE his "Barnabas" in the "Big Finish" audio plays. but i'd love the original cast also to have roles in it as well. i'm sure they'd have fun with going back to the roles as well. or the show anyways, if they played different characters. it would be nothing new to them given how many characters they played in the original show anyways, but with this Vampire Craze that's going on. if they had the right cast & the right people & everything involved & it wasn't like the (2004) remake i think it would be great.

yes thanxs for the link. & i have to say John Karlen is starting to look his age. i think that hair cut makes him look even older. but i'm thrilled he FINALLY lost weight. he looks good otherwise. i wish he'd go back to do acting, in films i mean. or even tv.

& Laura Parker as well. anyways, thanxs again for a good laugh. they looked like they were flirting a little with each other actually. he he.

Current Talk '24 I / Re: hoDS/NoDS DVD Release?
« on: July 23, 2010, 11:53:29 PM »
the mystery continues. well i don't know about the other film but Willy Wonka was film at some point in (1970) & her part was pretty big. other than "Dark Shadows" making her a star did doing films ever do that for her? to be honest i've only ever see her in 'Willy Wonka" so that's why i ask. i'd love to see her other work to be honest. & when i 1st saw her on "DS"

it took me a LONG TIME to get used to the idea really cause i have Littery seen "Willy Wonka" at least almost a thousand times i'm guessing. or close to it.  he he. i don't know the number. so seeing her in something else before that film was made or released took me some getting used to. & really the only films i've seen with any cast member Of "DS" is a few with "Joan Bennet" who hasn't?   'David Selby" i think a bit with "Kate Jackson" & that's all i can think of for now. oh & a couple with "Lara Parker" in short there hasn't been many films i've seen with actors from DS.

anyways you beat me to the punch. i was just going to ask why she left the show? one actor that i wish did the show even for a short time like "Abe Vigoda" did who looks EXACTLY the same as he did back than. he he. is "Christopher Lee" or "Vincent Price" one question though, i've seen places online that  say "Harvey Keitel" did the show as an extra at the blue Whale" i've seen the entire show a few time completly through & looked for him too. i just can't see him. "IMBD" i think lists him doing 2 or 3 in episods #35 or something like that, did he in fact do the show?
