is it just me cousins, or does it feel like everyone is dying this year? please don't take that as me being disrespectful cause that isn't my intention at all. the latest one is of course "Leslie Neilson" that one hit me pretty hard cause that man was basically ageless. at least he felt that way to me even as far back as when the 1st "Naked Gun" film came out. in (1988)

another guy who seems ageless that was on "DS" is "Abe Vigoda' i love the fact that i believe it was his 1st acting job. & he actually looks i believe the same as he did back in (1969) when he did "DS" & he's i think almost 90 or in his 90's now i forget which.

i think anyone who loves the show as much as we do here, should always try & approach the show as a newcomer when we start at Episode #1.  i know i do. yes Roger in the Early Days is well an ass. & it really isn't until he  finds out
Laura is going to Harm David in some ways,
when it begins to effect him.  & i'm glad that they later on Made David More likeable as well. he was a kid that needed spanked when the show 1st started.

& as for Carolyn. i didn't really realize how immature she was until i started re-watching the show a few months back & read some of Robervations here. That Robin here very Kindly made for us to read. thank you Robin.

i am of course referring to when the started. & it's i think great that they had her grow up & realize the world isn't about her. i do agree though, she always called "Collinwood" a prison yet she never went to College nor did she do any work at all. at least not until
Liz was put under a spell by Laura.
& at least "Roger" worked for a living.

i dunno about you guys & gals but if i was stuck at home as MUCH as they were, i'd be bored out of my mind! Roger at least works. Liz does too granted,  but in the early days she never really left the house unless it was to walk the grounds. & i dunno about you guys & gals but that would bore me to death. not going out like a normal person. i am thrilled that even though the show has it's faults of not explaining what happend to some of the characters when it ended in (1971) at least we found out about why Liz was wearing that Key around her Neck which i believe you can see in Episode #1. or was it #2? one or the other he he. ya know?

that would be cool though IF he did i mean, but i really doubt he'd make himself known on it if he was a member here anyways.

1stly i had no idea the man was still alive either. while i'm thrilled he lived such a long & i assume a good life. he was one of the best actors DS had to offer. i wish they had used him more. i realize his voice was used on other characters but that's pretty much it. also i've always thought Dr. Lang was killed just to damn soon.

kinda reminds me of "Dennis Patrick" his time on DS i mean. he was SUCH a great actor that when he played Jason McGuire you really believed he was that character. the slime that he is. the character, NOT the actor. & same goes for when he played "Paul Stoddard"  i think they should have used him more often as well. i would have loved to see him play various roles on the show more often than he ended up playing. maybe have him play another good guy who i dunno LIVES for change. anyways, as for A.Powell R.I.P.  he will be missed by many.

thanxs for the link by the way.

oh i'm sure there are people on here who enjoyed the Pilot, i'm not denying that. i was of course just referring to the people who didn't like it. that's all

one it's going to take QUITE a long time for them to film it. so i can understand why breaking dawn won't come out until november of next year. though i do find it pretty stupid that they wait another FULL year to release the 2nd half of it.

hell even "harry Potter" which took damn near an entire year & actually i think it was 14 months? to film the last film in the series. that's coming out on the 19th & the 2nd half comes out in July of next year i believe. so that is at least reasonable. & makes sense ya know? they aren't waiting a year for it. so i'm happy about that.

when it comes to releasing movies i don't think there really is a good  time a year to do it. BIG movies i mean. cause if you think about it's a win or lose situation either way.  you may release a film with lesser films. or rather  films that aren't really expected to DO BIG MONEY!  & you could get stuck with a flop cause those films do better. so in short there's really never a good time to do that. though i DO think Disney screwed uP on the last "Narnia" film when they put it out 2 years

ago. on when they released it. with all the reboots coming out that May at the same time. yet they wonder why it did't make money like the 1st one did hmm...??

i know that's who i was thinking of when i was typing that. i also think the actor who played him made a horrible vampire. he was better when he was himself than he was playing a vampire to be honest. least i think so. anyways, if they put josette into the film than  yes i'd say put the music box in it.

but i can live without it. but ONLY if they don't put Josette into the film. & my guess it'd be an updated score of the original if it's used. i'd also LOVE a new take on the DS story.  & something tells me we may get it. & i do agree what MB said. if DC was still alive. god rest his soul.  if they were going to make a film of DS. it would be another copycat story.

& us fans here, don't mind it being re told somewhat. if told right. & written good. but it would be a nice breath of fresh air  to have a new DS story. on film anyways. i know we are getting that on the audio plays. & i love those.
but i also would love to see new DS story on film. to be honest if the film is a hit & i think it could well be.

i'd love them to try another tv series retry. but of course with people involved who knew & respected the work. from what i hear on iMDB & here the last attempt wasn't very good. so that's why i put it that way.

i think at some point she would have had enough. hell even Frid had, had enough & i've never thought the reason the show was cancelled  was cause he wanted to play a different character.  i think had the network given them a longer run at the end of the show. the storyline with Bramwell would have been a LOT better.

but they i think rushed into finishing it. at least that's how it feels to me. anyways, i think DC SHOULD have given Alexandra M. a different role on the show, at least at some point. it would have been different to see her play an evil character. now let me add that it doesn't mean it had to be an evil Vicki. but it would have been interesting to see if she would have been able to handle other characters. i dunno if she would have been able to do it acting wise. but it like i

said would have been interesting if she was given the chance. honestly, i think it's just plain stupid that DC didn't give her a chance to play another character. with Vicki Going back in time ok i can see her playing the same character. but in the future had she stayed on the show. i would have loved to see her play another character.

i also wish she would have at some point gone back to acting after her son got older. but she didn't. & hasn't. oh well ya know?

i know & it's just plain damn stupid if ya ask me. why wait a total year after a film is done? Tim  Burton doesn't have that many flops in his resume. & even those films that did flop made some good money as well. at least i think they did.

studio's are to damn picky today. just cause a film doesn't hit say $50 million bucks on the opening day or weekend they consider it a flop. ok maybe not that much money but you get my point. tv studios do it now to. most of the time.

take the show "Lone Star" for example. it's a new show that started this season. i didn't happen to watch it so bear with me i can't comment on it if it was any good or not? but they only aired 2 episodes THAN freaking cancelled it! how in the world is a tv show going to be a hit or gain an audience if they don't air at least 13 episodes? or almost up that

at the very least. they need to understand that there are a LOT of programs on tv. & people do go out & have a life. so they don't always catch this or that program. same thing with movies.  i don't go to the movies that often.

but i do once in  awhile download one. or buy it on blue-ray or dvd when it comes out. & it's not cause i refuse to see this or that film in the theatre. its' really cause i don't get out much. that's all. in short in tv & in the movie buisiness these morons need to just loosen up a little & not have such HIGH standards for their films. there's nothing wrong in

having faith in the product by any means. but they go way overboard. ya know what i mean? & i also agree on the release on the "DS" film on dvd & maybe even "Blue-Ray" from what i hear, if you download say the film

"The House of the long Shadows" from say "Amazon"  the picture quality & everything else is from what i hear freaking HORRIBLE!  they spend NO money whatsoever putting films out that way. it's a good idea to release not so well known titles to sites like "Amazon" but not remastering it at the very least is just plain stupid. & bad business. but than what do know i don't know anything about business anyways.  he he

i forgot to mention that with the "C.Lee" films the bringing him back scenes did i think look cool. but the films weren't always that way. some were better than others though. i always got a kick out of on the tv show when they would do that to a vampire. pull a stake out of some vampire's chest & he or she would come back alive.

in other shows or movies. they die & it doesn't matter if you go back to the body years later to check on the body. it's still be staked & if pulled nothing would happen. or if they pulled one out of a vampire to use it to kill another nothing would happen. to my best of knowledge "DS" is the only show that does that, unless i'm informed otherwise of course.

206
i agree on that man, i for one loved 'Planet of the apes" i'm prolly one of the only people who did. but i think it's great in it's own way. & even if it's not as good as the original i didn't expect it to be when i saw it in the theatre 9 years ago. i have wanted them to do  a sequel to that since it came out! though i highly doubt he will ever do a sequel to that film.

cause he left us on a cliff hanger. which i would LOVE to see resolved in at least one more film, to finish the series off in
Tim Burton's universe anyways. & as for "DS" i hope he does do more films in the franchise if they hope to make one.

someone somewhere posted i forget where on how DS should be in the vein of the classic tv show 'Star Trek" & how that's more in the open than "DS" is & i have to agree with that assetment it's about time "DS" is more in the front than

the background like it's been since the show went off the air & the films were done in the theatre back than.
now i'm not saying it isn't popular it is. but most people today don't know what "DS" is or ever heard of it & if they have at least in (2010) it's cause of the new film coming out.

anyways, i didn't know that "Art Wallace" went to court over who created the characters. i can't say that i blame him either. but than i also don't know what led to it & so on. anyways, your'e right MB actors or actresses if they want to

do a role bad enough DO fit it in their schedule before anything else. such as the pirates sequels i believe he had soo much fun shooting the 1st one that he fit the sequels in his schedule. i think i may have read that somewhere way back when.

207
i actually have to agree, they better at least stay true to the theme. my guess is that Danny Elfman will do an updated version of it. the (1991) series has good memories for me cause that's when i 1st found out about "DS" & watching it with my dad was a nice pleasure as well. he's still thankfully alive but i'm sure you all know that it is nice to watch stuff with your rents.

& i found out all about "DS" from him. i don't remember if he watched the original show when he was in his teens. but he did tell me that it was a remake of the original show. & hence the remake got me curious about the original show. anyways as for the film, sorry to go off topic here for a bit. i hope it's longer than say 100 minutes. cause there is just

SOO MUCH Story that CAN BE TOLD! i hope that at least some of the original cast have parts in it. either big or small i don't care. i'd LOVE it if "Frid" had a good part in it. but i doubt he'll do it. cuz i think he would want a good part in it. & that i can understand. i think he should get that. plus if the film is done well & written well, & everything that we would love. who knows than i'd love to have them make more "DS" films. just as long as they don't Stake ole "Barney" in the film. like "DC" did in the original "DS" film. what do you think?

well said man well said. seriously "DC" got his facts wrong THAT MUCH? it's kinda funny in a way. cause you'd expect
a guy like him would be memory perfect. ya know? i mean hell if you look at one of my favorite directors/writers/ producers

"Roger Corman" who just turned 84 this year. the same age as Frid i believe. his memory is perfect still at 84. & Frid's i think is pretty good still as well. how old is Sam Hall now anyways?

man i wish that Frid had done the sequel. i understand he didn't want his image to be just of Barnabas of course. i can't say that i blame him to be honest. as i've said in the past if you look at "Christopher Lee"if he or his son-in-law or anyone else in his family i'm sure says he's only well known as Dracula they get REAL PISSED! & have banned members
from their site cause on how some people atitudes are. or somethings like that. & i can't say that i blame them either.

cause i wouldn't want to be well known for just one role either. it does break my heart that Frid quit acting well in movies anyways. i think at some point he would have been better known for other roles as well. outside of Horror.

cause "DC" did at some point quit doing horror movies & went to Drama films. & i'm pretty sure he would have Cast Frid in a heartbeat in any of them had he still been acting in films by than. but this is just one guy's opinion. ya know?

the episode the other nite was actually pretty damn good, don't you think? i didn't expect that dude to come back to life after being staked, well until the camera zoomed back on him i didn't expect it. than i saw it coming. plus it was nice to see Stefan & Damon to get along better.

i hope that continues throught the season at least. hopefully the series but since it's just the 2nd season i say season.
what do you think?

i agree, i don't think it'll be on dvd/ or blue-ray until the film is released. than my guess they will reissue the dvd of the original series. my guess also is they will maybe do spurts or something of the show that may continue until & even after for awhle at least the film gets released on dvd & blue-ray. i'm just guessing of course.

i have no way of knowing or any proof this is what's going to go down.
