I emailed MPI and asked about the title, and they said, of course that the VHS was out of print. But the final sentence was intriguing..."It is not out on dvd... YET" (Emphasis mine). While watching the old VHS Collector's edition tapes of DS, there are ads at the end for various items. One of them is a movie by Dan Curtis called "A Darkness At Blaisedon". Has anyone here ever seen it? It has some of the same DS actors, as well as Marj Dusay, who is one of my faves. I agree-I think ending on a contemporary note would have been much better. Though I did like the tack on narrative where Sam Hall told how he imagined the future for each of the characters. Was that part of the original series, or something added to the dvd as a bonus feature? (Loved that Barnabas and Julia realized their love and eventually married--YAY!--it just tweaks my romantic soul!)

Just noticed something, though it may have been mentioned before here. I have been watching the Collectors VHS tapes, and several times it has been stated that Collinwood has 40 rooms, with many of them closed off. In episode 87, however, Victoria begins her voice over at the start by saying that Collinwood has 80 rooms! FYI, in this week's issue of TV Guide there is a blurb about the current crop of vampires in shows like Moonlight, Blood Ties, and a soon-to-be-released HBO vamp-and the author mentions DC and Barnabas as the turning point from total evil to having a conscience.
