Posted this earlier and it didn't show, so here it is again!

I know it showed up briefly because I read it before, but it must've vanished off the main board shortly after.

If anyone else's main topic has disappeared from the main board in the past week, please let me know and I'll find and repost it. Moderators haven't removed ANY messages for content in over a week. This doesn't include messages older than a week, however, because MB and I are deleting older posts once they're transferred to our new board from eboards.

And special thanks to Midnite and Anne for their lovely comments! Only happened to come across them because I was searching under my name for this morning's post!

Sorry about that awful glitch. If you open that main topic, you'll see working links to those 2 replies underneath it. This has happened on 3 different occasions to all posts made at around the same time, and the last time I told eboards about it they said it was a rare occurrence, but this doesn't seem so rare to me. Anyway, thanks for the info! I'll check with the store that has been getting the DS comics for me.

Arashi, you're such a talented webmaster!

I loved the set of Quentin's postcards. If you don't mind my asking, where did you get them?

While moving posts this weekend, I came across the link in one of your messages to another of your sites. Girlfriend, have you really seen the Lord of the Rings movie NINE times???

Tomorrow, SciFi will air part of a Star Trek marathon in lieu of our beloved DS.

And those of us with kids will have them at home... eek!  :o

If you can get your hands on the Feb. 22 EW with the Oscar on the cover, check out page 31. In an article ("Lifelines") about award-winning biographical performances, the title page sports a photo of a very young Joan Bennett with George Arliss (best actor winner, 1930) from "Disraeli" (a best picture nominee). She looks magnificent!

what 'authorities' would that be??

For one, Dan Curtis. Or at least he once told an audience, when asked how Dr. Hoffman came to be female, that Sam showed up one day with his wife and after Curtis took a look at her face, he decided she HAD to be on the show. Interestingly, he also said her character's name was originally "Julius"...

You probably don't really wanna know (but with a screen name like that......) go down about a foot on the board, (and a few miles on the intellectual scale) and read the thread, and apology from 2/10 titled 'Barnabas Collins' started by AMeiers (that I apparently freaked right off the board!!).

A link to lovable Ringo's post is below, and the rest of the thread can be followed from there.

But older posts really are disappearing from the board as they're transferred to the new board-- by MB, mostly-- and as soon as we're caught up with all you verbose folks (I'm certainly not complaining), we'll move to our new home.

But, hey (similar to toe jam) I am 'studying' for some sensitive employment tests, and that really has my sense of perspective deranged - I gotta get a real job! and things will get back to NORML.

Oh no, please don't change!!!

I believe that there was only one instance in which a television set was on display. Do you know during which DS storyline the TV in question was seen and who owned the set? (Answer below.)

Bob, check out
Stuart Bronson's hotel room during his meeting with Burke and you'll spot yet another portable TV set.
Charles, by now you've probably received the most recent Shadowgram (SG) announcement. I'm sure Tim will be posting the entire update, but here's the answer to your question:

 • MPI tells SG it is "planning to issue original and unedited DS episodes in the DVD format beginning in May/June, with a 4-disc set containing a total of 40 episodes (10 per disc). The DVD releases will begin with Episode 210, the introduction of Barnabas.

"Further 4-disc sets are anticipated every 3 months. There are no plans to release single disc versions at this time. Each release will contain bonus material, including new interviews with the DS actors and Dan Curtis, plus other features. The sets will retail for the suggested price of $59.98."
I've answered this question a few times on this board and don't recall my answer being removed. Afterall, what's the big deal?

The post in which Nancy said this is repeated here because the original quoted a message that was removed from the board. To answer your question, Nancy, since all publications, including his obituary as well as ShadowGram, have stated the cause of his death as having been cancer, posts stating otherwise have been removed from the board.

I acknowledge that it's been commonly known within fandom that he suffered from the AIDS virus, and I'm most likely going out on a limb by even saying that, but it's still the policy of this board to choose published information over posts that repeat what has been spread through fandom by word of mouth, and out of respect for his family's privacy, any further discussion about his illness, his family, or any other aspect of his private life WILL be removed from this or any other thread.

the board wont let the truth be told

Joe, you know the issue isn't about censorship but rather about privacy.  While fans are aware that he suffered due to AIDS, the cause of death stated in his obituary was cancer. I removed your other message in this thread because I found your characterization of a tragic disease to be offensive and because I feel that the private motives of any star's family is simply none of our business.
