Sorry, J!  You type it anywhere you want in your message.  I was referring to the box in my post that the example is in.

(I was going to quote something from someone else's post here, but it looks like you can only quote from one post per response  ?!? .)
Vlad, here's how you can-- When your message window is open, you can see all responses in the topic if you scroll down far enough, so highlight the 2nd quote that you'd like to include, then copy & paste that text into your response, being sure to surround the quotable text with the following
Code: [Select]

To attribute the quote to whomever said it, you may choose to type "So-and-so said:" above all that, or you can type this
Code: [Select]
So-and-so's
text
and it will post as:

So and so's
Quote
text

You might come up with another way to credit the quote, but however you decide to do it, the preview feature should be very helpful in getting it all to look the way you want.

If my explanation confused the heck out of you, go ahead and cyber-smack me!  Just so you don't do it at the Happiest Place on Earth.  :o

The rest of the emoticons are in the Posting section of "Help", and the Testing board is available to practice to your (and everyone else's) heart's content.  And please don't be afraid to ask questions there because you may be helping someone else to use the features too.  Have fun!

And, YES,  :-*, Willie is more than welcome at my home, too. We'll just have to share him, Raineypark.

Uhhh, we're not talking about HOUSEWORK anymore, are we? ;)

You've given me a whole new perspective of ol' Willie as a handy man, hee hee!!

~Midnite (who has never fantasized about Quentin.  Uh huh, sure.)

As usual I don't even understand the question.  Is there more than one box that shows the preview?  And I don't scroll to the top, it JUMPS to the top and I have to scroll down slightly to see the pink box!!...?  ?!?

Sorry to confuse you, Raineypark!  Knowing full well that the board is viewed differently on different setups, I should've taken that into consideration when I told you to scroll up.  There is only one preview box, but it should display how your message will look if you were to post it without making any further changes inside the message window.

By the way, I'm seeing it on this message preview!  I guess I'll quit while I'm ahead!!  ;)

LOL! :D

I noticed them advertising a chain reaction of Forever Knight for Monday, today, so I'm guessing that DS won't be on.  I haven't checked the schedule yet.

The Forever Knight marathon follows DS.  My SciFi schedule reflects the West Coast feed, which reads DS at 10 a.m. followed by 12 hours of FK starting at 11 a.m.  So no, DS is NOT preempted on Monday, April 1st.

The box is not showing up in preview...

That's odd.  Just out of curiosity, after you click preview are you scrolling to the top of the page to see it (in the pink box)?

thanks, I finally understand it.

Actually,  I kind of like your idea-In order to keep it legit, the results needed to be collected by a third party. I did not want to impose a duty on someone. Perhaps Midnite would be willling to collect replys from those, who wish their selection to remain anonymous.

Sure, if anyone would prefer to not post their choices on the board, they can be sent to Midnite@dsboards.com .

Actually, anyone that wants to email me about the board is always welcome to do so.

;DI don't think it was episode two that Louis Edmonds said the hundred feet line. I think it had to be more like episode number 20.

I probably should've spoken up when Gerard called it episode 2, though I can understand where he got that from-- what I said was that it was from David Hofstede's review of Volume 4, and he was talking about the 2nd episode in that volume, which would make it #17.

Quote
Also it is a good idea whenever possible to know which episode number a certain blooper is in so we can watch for it more carefully.

I highly recommend Hofstede's DS Video Reviews, Paul.  Episode 139 to the end of the series (and the special releases also) are in book form, and his reviews of the Collector's Series were published in TWODS.  I got both from Kathy Resch, who may still have some of those TWODS left.  David usually mentions the bloopers in each volume, and has a humorous twist on a lot of other things, too.

Quote
Are there any upcoming bloopers we should watch for?

SPOILER?

You might want to keep an eye on Josette's attire in Friday's last scene, but you'll have to commit it to memory for a few days until the scene replays on Monday.

Uh, I still don't get it...I tried just highlighting 1 of your sentences, then hitting the quote key....duh, I don't get it.

Clicking "quote" will quote the entire message whether you highlight within it or not.  If you want to quote only a part of a message, you can do either of these:

1)  Click "quote", then remove all the text that you DON'T want included but leave this at the beginning:
Code: [Select]
and this at the end:
Code: [Select]
or, and I find this MUCH easier,

2)  Highlight the section that you want to quote, select "Copy" in the menu under "Edit" at the top of your screen, click "reply", paste the text into the message window between these tags (which you can either type yourself OR add to the message window by clicking on the light colored box containing the page and blue arrow):
Code: [Select]

The tags for quoting have to be in that order, with / in the 2nd one only.

Did that help?

I LOVE YOU... :) :)
I'd be lost without Midnite (and MB is too tech for me).

I'd be lost without MB. :)

BTW...the whole reason I read this topic is because I too had noticed a major slow down (starting about 5-6 days ago).

I don't know what to tell you.  I've noticed the board a little slower with the increased activity (weekends on VNet were slow; now I'm just blown away), but not like what you're both describing.  I do find myself waiting a bit longer for some topics to load, though, if they contain live-action avatars (but I'm not naming names, hee hee!!).

I don't believe I have any messages (God knows I aint got no cash$$$)!!!

You should check it. Below the forum logo, you'll see "Hey, Patti, you have __ messages."  Click on the word "messages" and see what you find. ;)

But there was another song, I believe in 1841PT, that struck me because it seemed a bit modern for that era.  What was the song, and who was the pianist?
Ben, I remember you had that reaction to Cobert's "Joanna's Theme" from the 1840 story.  It *is* lovely but does seem better suited to NoDS.  Oh yeah, and it was Gerard that played it, wigging Quentin out since he torched his copy after writing it, but Gerard insisted he had just found it lying around.  (But we know how it really got there, heheh.)

Just to not have to play password, I always stayed 'logged in' [so to speak] - is that OK, or is that a 'slow-downer' for others when I am not actually here? [so to speak....as if....]

Hee hee to the "as if"!  No, that's not a problem.  I always stay logged in too.

I may be the only one who didn't realize that

I would bet any money that you've done a service to a lot of readers that hadn't yet discovered they can jump directly to the last page in a topic.  Are you using the "Forum Jump" when you're at the bottom of a topic and ready to change boards?  It's very cool.

Ringo, you are SO sweet!  This is for you... :-*
