Thanks, guys.  And Raineypark, you're too funny.  Ah, Brooklyn-- birthplace of hot dogs AND the Dodgers, woo!  BTW, how come NY hot dogs taste so good?  Unless it's something I don't want to know...

Good catch, LoveAtFirstBITE!!!

Carolyn saw her own tombstone when she fell victim to the dream curse, and it showed she would die that year.

As to why it was in 1897, I can only guess that the set designer never in his wildest dreams thought we'd have video capture software in 2002 not to mention that we'd be watching it on cable or discussing it on computers. ;)

Gianni, I just loved your comments about Angelique!  Things are never dull when she's around.  I hope you'll continue to share your reactions as the storyline progresses. :D

But I'll tell ya.....I had a hard time concentrating on Angelique 'cause I couldn't take my eyes off that dress!!  Thought it was just about the most beautiful dress I've ever seen.  I don't remember EVER seeing it in the storyline.  Does she ever wear it again?  All I remember is that green one that I can't stand.

Unfortunately, no, she doesn't wear it again.

Do we have the address for snail mail for the sci-fi chanel?  I would not mind dropping them a line.

Me too, Birdie, but I wasn't able to find their snail mail address.  That's not to say it's not on scifi.com, but all I came across were email addys and phone numbers.  I feel like such a failure, LOL.  I hoped someone it handy, or maybe another pair of searching eyes will have better success on their website?

I did, however, find this in their FAQ and thought it was interesting:

Why did you change the time slot of my favorite show?

We alter our schedule quarterly, with big changes tending to happen in 1st Quarter (January) and 4th Quarter (October).

The reason it was moved is the same reason it was scheduled where it was in the first place, namely ratings. A program is scheduled in the hopes of getting good ratings and of helping the shows around it get good ratings. A show is given a new timeslot in the hopes of raising either its ratings overall, raising the new timeslot's ratings, or raising new timeslot's ratings -- and hopefully the ratings of the shows around those time slots. Sometimes a change can result in lower ratings but still be the right thing to do.

For example, say a show called "Intergalactic Space Ninjas" aired Mondays at 8pm and was moved to Sundays at 10am. There's little chance it could get higher ratings in its new slot, but if the new Monday night show gets a higher rating, and "Intergalactic Space Ninjas" gets a higher rating than the show it replaced, the net result is better ratings for the network as a whole.

Keep in mind that no show has a "natural" or "rightful" time slot.[/i]

Oh - and by the way....am I losing my touch here, or what?  I thought the scenerio with Roger Davis mud wrestling with Marie Wallace, and her creaming him, was rather amusing (poetic justice).  Nobody liked it?  LOL  Ahem...  8)

Now THAT I'll talk about-- I thought your mud wrestling scenario was hysterical.  So nope, you haven't lost your touch at all!

C_S,

I realize the comment was made to you on the forum, you've expressed how you feel about it, and now if there's any more to be said about it by either of you I ask that you do it off the boards.  PLEASE, or the comment will be removed, and the person making it may find herself muted on the forums.

Thanks for the information, Midnite!

Pardon my ignorance, but exactly what is Shadowgram, and how can one become subscribed? Sorry, but am kinda new to organized DS fandom.

You're welcome, and please feel free to ask whatever question you have!  ShadowGram is DS fandom's official newsletter, and all the subscription info is included at the bottom of any of SG's email updates that Tim has on his website.  The link to the latest update is right now on page 2 of this board.

BTW, love your avatar and the saying that goes with it!  I am also a Buffy fan.

Thanks.  Speaking of Anya, I was disappointed we didn't get to learn more last week about her fear of bunnies. :(

The subject of VAM's comment has been settled, so anything else that needs to be said about it can be taken off the forum.  Thanks!

Has Sci-Fi committed to showing DS in 2003?

They have.  Sorry to scare you!  But in a different time slot...

From ShadowGram:

--- DS will continue on Sci Fi Channel (SFC) through 2003.

--- DS' timeslot on SFC will change on Mon., Jan. 6. beginning on that date, the weekday (Mon.-Fri.) back-to-back episodes air 8:00-9:00 am (Eastern/Pacific).

This is just a friendly reminder for everyone that when you're making a joke, can you please make it obvious that it's a joke?  Readers don't have the benefit of seeing how you look when you're saying it, and unless you're Jerry Seinfeld it's not a good idea to assume that everyone will know it's a joke simply because you're the author.  We've had some problems on the boards that began as simple misunderstandings.

Also, consider feelings and reputations before you click "Post".  Nobody likes to have their messages removed, and the mods would prefer to never have to remove any.

And now that I've said this, please don't make me eat my words by going overboard, LOL.

Okay, let's stop this back and forth, please.  I believe the point has been clarified that VAM intended for her comment to be a joke, yet I hope she can also see that the POV expressed by others was well-intentioned-- the point being that when we're making a joke that could reflect poorly on the reputation of someone else, particularly someone in the public eye, we should be mindful that our comments can be easily mistaken by some readers to be fact.  So before making a joke, it's a good idea for all of us to first think about whether it can be misinterpreted by someone else.  So rather than react emotionally, please think about this: libel does apply to what we say on the internet, and being reminded of this is a good thing.
