Getting a new address or server won't bump you from your account.  Just visit www.dsboards.com with your new setup, click Login, then enter your regular username and password to get access to post as kuanyin.

We do ask that you update your email addy on the forums when you have the chance.  Click Profile, then enter the new address and save the change.  Anytime you change your registered email address a new p/w is sent out, so I'd recommend you change it after you've finished reading and posting for that particular session in case there's a delay in receiving it because you'll find yourself locked out of your account without it.  If the new p/w doesn't arrive in your mailbox within a reasonable amount of time, please just let MB or myself know (MysteriousB@dsboards.com or Midnite@dsboards.com).

Your previous stint as Santa inspired me to participate when a local group was doing the same last weekend for a nearby animal shelter.  There's no dog in my household (sniff) or cat, but we made do and the Santa was a terrific sport about it.

Viki was married to Joe but everybody thought he died when his car went off a cliff, and she went on to marry somebody else but I think that was more her father's idea.  Anyway, we later found out that Joe actually came out of the accident with the amnesia, and he's on death's door.  He passed out in Wanda's diner and she took care of him and fell in love, but it wasn't mutual.  She took the high road and convinced him to see Viki, his aneurysm got repaired, but hello, Viki has 2 hubbys.  Wanda later moved on to Vinnie Wolek.

Oh Lord (pun intended), I'm not sure I can help you with these.  You might be remembering when her own son was killed by a hit and run.  She felt responsible cuz he had run into the street when he found out who his real dad was; can't remember the father's name, but he was Victor Lord's son.  Karen was in the car (workin' hard for the money), but I don't know the name of the guy that was driving, but he's the one that murdered Marco, or at least he thought he did but it was his identical twin.  Ack!

As for how Brad and Pat knew Viki (I keep wanting to spell it "Vicki", like our favorite governess), wasn't Pat Viki's editor at the Banner?  I remember Viki and Brad were helping when Jenny (Brad's ex) was trying to escape with David (<sniff>) but I wasn't crazy about that storyline.

But I'm not bitter that I tried to sign up for DSL 11 months ago only to find out that there were no open ports in Verizon's local hub - or that I've been waiting for all those months for a port to become open or for Verizon to get their act together and install more ports. No, not at all. And as proof of that, the letter bomb I'd laced with Anthrax is still sitting on my table, unmailed...

But tell me this, Ms. Smartypants - what good has your DSL connection been during the last 8 hours that I've spent restoring the forum from the backup I'd (thankfully) made about 30 minutes before the server went haywire yesterday, hmmm?

I backed up on Wednesday, but how was I supposed to know the server would go bonkers the following morning?  I said I had DSL, not ESP.
