Also, when you think of it ... Quentin's room is pretty nice accomodations ... can it really be all that bad?   ;D  I mean, Trask could have been manacled by the arms (as Barnabas was by Trask's ancestor) in a cold damp dungeon ...

A person could go mad in there trying to figure out where the heck Quentin hid the bed.

Current Talk '03 I / Re:Getting the heck out of 1897!.....
« on: April 09, 2003, 06:42:46 PM »
It seems as though someone suddenly said, "Enough already!!....get us a whole new story!".....and the writers had 15 minutes to decide where they were going next.

Anyone know the background of this transition?

Wasn't there an announcement over the closing credits a couple of months before the end of 1897, with Frid promising a return to 1969?  It's not on the tapes but I'm sure I read this.  Can anyone confirm it?

I think 1897's was a typical DS storyline ending, particularly with the high body count.  But like jennifer and Gerard, I wish a few more loose ends had been tied up before we were thrown into the next story.

As my friend Nicky is wont to say, "Leviathans ho!"  ;)

Not that anybody in the great house gets a decent amount of sleep anyway, but how long had Quentin supposedly been awake to end up in such bad shape?  The Q-man couldn't be still for 2 seconds without falling sleep (which means a career in medicine is pretty much out of the question for him; I SO do not miss my on-call days!).  The last thing I would ever want to keep me from dozing off would be listening to the same infernal song over and over...

You can sure tell the writers have changed since 1966 when they had all the adult characters consuming huge amounts of coffee.

LoveAtFirstBITE posted a couple of captures of the gravestone from that episode.  They'll come up if you do a search for the subject Carolyn.............dead? or it might be easier to go to the Current Talk IV board where you'll find the topic at the very top of p. 13.

Thank you so much Midnite.  He looks so cute with his bat. It really shows the devil in him.

I agree-- he looks adorable!  Love those red eyes too!!

And you're very welcome.

[scrm] [scrm] [scrm] [scrm] [scrm] [scrm] [scrm] [scrm] [scrm]

there's gotta be a way to greatly enlarge the scream, for those of us living in northeast....

We had our first big snow about 2 1/2 weeks BEFORE winter began...and now that winter's OVER, there's currently about 4'' outside, with no end for a least 2 more hours.

You'd need to combine the URL for the smiley, which I realize isn't readily available to you, with this explanation in the Help files:

[img width=80 height=40]http://site.com/image.gif[/img]so (using 40 px, but you could vary the size), this:

shows up as

Poor Patti.

The forum already has a calendar feature (why do I suspect you're already aware of that? [sure]), but I just haven't gotten around to setting its system up yet. (Is this your way of delicately hinting that you think it's time I did? ;))

Hee hee.  Thought I'd see if anybody was interested before doing any serious hinting. :D

Some episodes were number twice after an episode was pre-empted by ABC. In one case during the Leviathan storyline, an episode was given three numbers. Sci Fi is just airing two episodes everyday for the next few months.

That's why there are 1,225 eps but the final one is #1245.

VWR, your posted schedules are very appreciated!  I'm not trying to beleaguer our webmaster (eek!), but wondering if you or anyone else thinks a forum calendar would be useful for pre-emptions, guest appearances, etc.?

Thanks alot Midnite.  I guess I didn't read the whole page correctly.  I was trying to put my password in the bottom part.

It's a common mistake.  Please don't give it another thought.

I wanted to put a scanned picture of my cat I have as my avitar, but it is on my computer and not a web site so I guess I can't use it.  :(     Thanks for helping me out.  :)

If you send it as an attachment to midnite@dsboards.com , it may take a few days to get to but I'll get it on there for you.

It's a VERY old Sicilian saying

Again with the food!!!

You mean it's not really a Klingon proverb?

Thank you...I never heard about DS's involvement with LA Theatre...Midnite (and another other southern CA dwellers), do you get to take advantage of this?

Oh yeah. 8) The writeup on Ruby McCollum piqued my interest.  Thanks, Criseyde.

PS...what's NPR (I think it stands for Nat'l Public Radio), but what's that?
I guess I'd pick it up out of NY; does anyone know call letters for a station?

Go to http://www.npr.org/index.html and select "find a station", and you can read about it there too.

I'm sorry that I can't remember more about the DSHH miniseries, but the IMDb lists this at http://us.imdb.com/Title?0077399 --

Plot Outline: A young couple moves to a quiet New England village, only to soon find themselves mixed up in devil worship, satanism and human sacrifice.

What a shame that the book was so perverted.
