okay...why isn't it a blue link?

Using the url tags will remedy that.  Just click on the globe in the YABBC menu above the message window, or type this
Code: [Select]
[url][/url]
The complete address goes inside the 2 tags, and it'll come out

This time, when I was logging in, I clicked stay logged in always...I hope I did this right....how do I make sure I DON'T log off (so I don't keep having these problems)?

That's it.  Now don't log out and don't dump the forum cookie.

KEEP ME ON....

We don't anticipate making a major change to the overall setup for a while.

guest starring ... a gent whose name escapes me, but who appeared on some other show or movie quite recently.

I believe that's Minja's cue.  :)

is this how it will be from now on, or is it another temporary problem until you get things set the way they used to be?

The cookie for your login on this upgraded version is now stored.  It was only following the upgrade that you needed to create another one.

Are visitors getting in but just not new members yet?

Anyone that comes to the main page at dsboards.com that isn't already logged in is counted as a guest.  But no one can get past the login/registration pages until they've logged into an established account.

There are several DS avatars available in your profile.  They all begin with "DS..."  Since avatars are a unique expression of the individual poster, it would be appreciated if you choose one that's not already in use.  If you need any help with that, please don't hesitate to ask. :)

Some members have avatars that were created for their own personal use so not all the avatars that you see in messages will be there.  Often they're stored on the cousin's own webspace.

All topics get archived so they won't be lost, but it's only to keep the individuals boards from getting too large.  So yes, you're absolutely welcome to post in them.

I don't know why you had to re-enter the forum after making that post, but it wasn't because of a forum error.  It might have been caused by your server or browser.  Do you ever try coming in through the Explorer version on your desktop instead of AOL's browser?

It's great that you're enjoying the boards.  :D

new voices are fun to have around  ;)

I agree!

We can already handle an influx of visitors [on this server] and plan to reopen for registrations and guest traffic very soon.  I know I said that before but then we were forced to convert to a version that MB was less familiar with, and, well, you know the rest.

Anyway, we expect our visitor numbers to really climb-- the list I've compiled of persons interested in learning when it'll happen has become quite large, and the forum log records the attempts to register by unique visitors and sometimes there are several per day-- and so we want to be completely ready for it, yet there still remains one issue that MB plans to care of first before we reopen.

When I tried clicking on a plus sign nothing happens?

What you'd be clicking on would be [cure] and [curse], but you'd have to be at a higher posting level before they'd be available to you in other members' posts.

« on: April 19, 2003, 09:15:15 PM »
The errors generated were password errors.  Here's the process for changing it:

Click profile in the horizontal menu (top or bottom).  Type your current password in the top Required Info section.  Then scroll down to where it says Choose password and Verify password; this is where you type your desired pw twice.  Then submit the changes by clicking Change profile.

You won't receive any notifications, so you may want to record your new pw somewhere that's safe.

No, registrations remain closed.

There was a brief window following the upgrade in which the registration page was accessible.  Our newest member happened along at just that time. :)

Any rumors you may hear about me being in one of those places under age to snag a bottle of Rush are absolutely false.  And I only know that Banana Easy Widers actually exsited by word of mouth.  Same thing goes for the Annie Green Springs in the water pipe.

LOL

Head shops, pot heads, feed yer head, looking for our heads... those really were the days, sigh.

Well, as Minja pointed out, it IS the lights.  They were utilized throughout 1897 and should've been changed back when the story shifted to the present.

It's no problem if you didn't notice the difference.  After all, it went over the set dresser's head for more than a week after the return to 1969.  The fixture will be "modern" again as of Wednesday's 2nd ep.

The chandelier that was added in the drawing room set at the start of 1897, however, becomes a permanent fixture in the present-day drawing room.  Apparently Barnabas' time tripping not only rid the house of Quentin's ghost but also altered the decor. ::)

Enjoyed all the guesses!
