I really don't think most people use that curse button much - maybe here and there if they disagree strongly with something someone says.  I think the curse button serves as a tool for a few people who are rather frustrated and don't know how else to express themselves. They've usually decided they don't like you, or you annoy them in some way.  Once in awhile you'll get someone who thinks you've stepped on their toes, or you don't fit in to their agenda or what have you, and they decide they want you out of their territory so to speak.  These people will embark on a dedicated campaign to get rid of you.  Problem is, they can't hit your curse button more than once in a 24-hour period so they enlist a couple of their followers to help them get the count up faster.  These are the type of people who can't think for themselves but they DO like the idea that they're serving a righteous cause, so they're quite serious about they're involvement.  They also serve to bolster the person in question's sense of validation.

The feature is intentionally anonymous and certainly was never intended to be a tool to chase anyone off the forum.   Since visitors wouldn't have any way of knowing who's using the feature, they also couldn't possibly be privy to the user's intent unless s/he chose to reveal it, nor could it be known if members using it similarly are even aware of each other, and I surely don't have any knowlege of members using the feature to carry out a personal agenda or employing minions in the process.  And the heart of the matter is that everyone is welcome to post here.

If a visitor is being or has been harassed on the forum through IMs or posts, then I certainly want to be contacted about it, and to that I'll add the use of information, opinions, or images posted here to harass a member off the board, and if a member is undeniably linked to those behaviors I wouldn't hesitate to kick them off.

Do you realize these people actually went to the trouble of digging up an old post of mine so they could hit that button?  Kind of pitiful how much time some people have on their hands.

As MB pointed out, we've made older posts available on the board so that others could read them at their leisure, and I frequently receive questions about them.

I don't know why you feel the need. The lashes keep going and going. You saw them yourself. There's no end to them.

BEWARE THE LASHES!

Well... okay.

I thought they were scary, even if some may not bat a lash at them.

::)

Just a friendly reminder, from the forum guidelines--

7.  These boards are not forums for the spreading of gossip or innuendo, or the slandering of the DS actors' private lives. Comment on their public behavior, whether it be a personal appearance or in the course of some other form of public exposure (i.e. a talk show, Fest appearance, etc.) is perfectly acceptable, however.

Of course, I am sure there are people here who would lash out in protest.  [lol3]

I'm laughing so hard that I hope I won't get whiplash. [lghy]

However....I still don't think it rates as the cheesiest prop ever used on this show.  I'm still partial to Bat-On-A-String, myself.

I bet you'll soon change your mind after you get a look at "the shadow".

Ben!!!!!  It's great to see you!

I have a daughter that's Amy's age and you're right-- if she'd been anywhere near that cottage recently you can bet the scissors would be impossible to find.

I think all the scenes were repeated except the one between Barnabas and Oberon, which was completely revamped and reshot.  For one thing, Haza was there the first time.  I assume it was rewritten to add details that would help the plot, and Barnabas' role in the Leviathan plan, make more sense.  As if.  ::)

This is also why Peter Lombard was available to do the opening voiceover, which never aired during syndication because it somehow got dropped when reformatted (for distribution), so if you taped the ep off the tv you won't have it.  It's on the MPI tape, and here's the text for anyone that may be interested:

"This will be an eventful night at Collinwood, for Julia Hoffman has learned more about the menace that threatens the Collins family...  And on this night, she will finally find out the secret of what happened in the year 1897 and how Barnabas Collins became the unwilling pawn of a mysterious and evil people."

So, did DC have to pay KLS and Roger Davis in order to replay their scenes?

There was a line in last nite's penultimate ep of Buffy that reminded me of this storyline's Quentin.  I'm paraphrasing, but I think Buffy said to Xander-- "Every time you pick up a sword in this house I'm afraid you'll break one of the good lamps."

:D

And how about Sheriff Paterson?  Forgive me...I don't remember his name.

No problem, it was Sheriff Davenport.  So if you were on first name terms with him, would you have called him Sheriff Sheriff?

There's his grave stone and then here comes his hand and then his whole body.  How many inch's of dirt would you say he was buryed in....about a 1/2 an inch?  At least they could have had a wooden box lid on top of him, then he could have come out better that way. [deady]

Wow, I planted a small tree yesterday and am sure I dug a deeper hole for it.
