Current Talk '03 II / Reminder: No DS on Monday, Sept. 1
« on: August 30, 2003, 06:30:46 PM »
DS is pre-empted for the Labor Holiday, but you probably knew that. ;)  SciFi is airing an Outer Limits marathon instead.

None of the DS actors ever did OL, right?  I can't recall a single one, anyway.

great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give David
Selby a big kiss for me!!!!!!!!!!

You're all very welcome, but Annie, I'm in L.A. and he's in New York already.  The pictures are emailed to me and all I'm doing is putting them on the board.  So I'll pass along your thanks to the fan that is taking and sending them, and whose idea this was in the first place!

Please keep in mind that these images are coming to us via a PCS camera, but at least they provide an instant peek and info about the goings on for the cousins unable to attend tonite's events in Brooklyn.  In all likelihood these won't remain on the forum as I'm sure that very soon there'll be plenty of good quality pics to see on the various forums once the Fest is over.

Tonite's star panel included Jim Storm, Diana Millay, Marie Wallace and John Karlen:

Kathryn Leigh Scott, Lara Parker, and surprise guest Terry Crawford were also part of the panel but were seated on the opposite side of the stage.

10:30 - Julia sits in the drawing room, reading a book.

Which is all she ever does after returning from the future-- sit with her nose in a book.  We know she's a much better detective than that because we saw her in action during the Leviathans story.

Quentin gazes at his glass and says, twice, "Midnight."

I have a wav of that saved somewhere, of course.  But you spelled it incorrectly, Muıeca.  What he's actually saying is, "Midnite.  Midnite."

:D

well there was that 1 leviathan episode where the credits roled over  some animatronic clown or something like a clown.

Oh yes, from Liz's fun house dream!  Bozo could've taken David Henesy's place in it, telling her the story of fat and skinny having a race around the steeplechase (or something like that).  Then he could've had the distinction of being the only one on the entire series that made Liz laugh.

I can think of one other actor's shoes (heh) that Bozo the clown could've stepped into successfully-- Roger Davis'.  Particularly as lawyer Peter Bradford.  ;D

For the benefit of those of us that can't be there, one of the fans attending this weekend generously offered to email some pics of the event via cell phone (ain't technology grand?!), and I'll try to get them up on this board as quickly as I can.  They'll be cell phone quality pics, but it should make for some good vicarious enjoyment (GVE ;)).  So please be sure to check back this weekend cuz after that, depending on their quality, it's hard to say how long some or all of them will remain posted.  :D

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Re:Using multiple YABB tags
« on: August 27, 2003, 05:15:57 AM »
Okay..I previewed, the yellow/purple has 'glow' in it, the pink/red has 'left', yet to me, they appear the same ???

They are identical.  You got lucky, cuz the system read the codes as if they were the same, but I recommend sticking to YABB codes as they're given.  Otherwise you never know what result you're going to get, and if I saw that first example I wouldn't know for sure what you were trying to accomplish.

BTW, the glow feature gives a different effect to text than the shadow feature.  The code to make text glow is listed in Help/Posting/YABBC.

But I have no costume - yikes!   Does anyone here have a schedule of events for the weekend other than what I see in the Fest site?  I'll be buying my ticket at the door.

Go to http://mrjuggins.topcities.com/gram/gram.htm and select Update #99.

Your 2001 costume was SO gorgeous, HappyBat!  But costume or no, it's a bummer I won't get to see you.  *sigh*

but then, how does Cassandra have that pretty red text with blue shadowing?

Is this just a numeric version?

Each tag has its own function.  A plain ol' color tag determines the color of the text, and what's in the shadow tags affects the shadows (the size, color, direction of only the shadows).  Showing only those parts of her code, here's what Cassandra wrote:

Code: [Select]
[shadow=blue,left][color=red]I GOT IT NOW!![/color][/shadow]

Thanks again

You're very welcome!

Why can't my question mark fit on the same line with my text?

No matter how you might try to get around it, the system will still isolate shadowed text... in other words, shadowed text cannot share the same line with unshadowed text.  So if a ? is outside the shadow tags, it's going to get bumped to the next line every time.  Your choices are to either keep your punctuation inside the shadow tags where it'll get shadowed too or have it show up unshadowed on another line.
