I haven't been here for awhile so your post was very helpful.  :)

Welcome back!

Contrary to what Bobubas may say about David's storytelling tips, he doesn't begin every scary story with "Once I met this girl named Criseyde . . ."
::)

VWF, hope you don't mind that I changed the text to royalblue so there'd be more contrast against the dark background.

On MM, topic Anniversary, Cassandra posted an extremely cool marquee with sunshine faces (didn't know you could make them move/larger??)

That's the normal size of the sun smiley.  You can make text or images move if you surround them with the YaBB codes for move:
Code: [Select]
[move]Text, Image[/move]
Quote
but anyway, the bottom of her post looks ?different? than other posters??

Do you see what I see

I had to log on using IE to see what you were talking about.  In Netscape, you couldn't tell there was a problem, but no matter cuz it's fixed now.  Thanks for letting us know.

That's why we've emphasized the use of reverse order when using multiple codes.  This is correctly written code:

Code: [Select]
[move][glow=blue,2,600][size=5][b][color=red]TEXT[/color][/b][/size][/glow][/move]
I assume the message is now showing up as it was intended to look.

DS is on again Monday (the 13th)

You can expect to see the return of a couple of familiar faces.  [winkb]

I'm probably not on the list you're referring to - I don't remember ever seeing about signing up for anything.
Perhaps you might have missed the topic, but it was posted on Testing last November. Check out "I Was Wondering If You Were Accepting New Members?", currently on page 12.

There were a couple of other board topics too from which member names were gleaned, though the vast majority of the notify list consisted of potential members rather than standing members.  This is because the only purpose of the notification email was to contact fans that had directly expressed an interest in joining or (in far fewer instances) to notify members that had asked about the reopening on behalf of another party that's interested in joining.  Sorry for not being clear about that.

We haven't yet announced the reopening on other sites because individuals who were on the notify list are still registering and it's easier for us to help new members when we're not being inundated.

If anyone knows the unknowns, it would help me out.

Calendar Events / Announcements '03 II / Actress Florence Stanley
« on: October 11, 2003, 01:31:23 AM »
Today's LA Times reports that Florence Stanley passed away last week.  Her voice was used to portray Josette's sobs in an early episode of DS, but of course she's better known as the wife of Abe Vigoda's character on "Barney Miller" and "Fish".

To read the Associated Press article in the Miami Herald (does not require registration):

Oops, no, ProfStokes and Patti didn't request it when I brought it up on the Testing board.  The members that did ask to be messaged (added to the notify list) were all sent emails last nite via the addys in their profiles.  Except for Mark Rainey, who requested a massage instead, so I guess I owe him one now, eh?

Welcome, Anna Collins!

Why isn't my username showing up when I post? [confused_ani]

Yikes.  Your profile is displaying a little strangely too.  The webmaster will have to look into it when he can.

one of the players(Kevin Millar) said it when they clinched the wild card
after going down 0-2 to Oakland they all shaved their heads and
having been on a winning streak since

Thanks, jennifer.  So I take it "cowboy up" means to hang tough.

Cowboy Up!

I understand about the rivalry (geezus, I thought Dodgers vs. Giants was hateful!), and about the curse, but could one of you please explain "cowboy up" to this out-of-the-loop Westerner?  [huhb]

I've been watching it on and off too since it was about a group of mostly interns dealing with problems as mundane (by today's soap standards) as murder and drugs.  But I enjoyed it more as a supernatural soap, and though the quality of those plots had declined to a ridiculous point I think it's a pity that it was cancelled just as a werewolf had been introduced.

Anyway, on the Jump the Shark site, a chief complaint about PC's more recent stories seems to be that it borrowed too heavily from contemporary stories such as "Frequency", "Back to the Future", and "BtVS" in addition to DS.  While our show was guilty of the same (if you think the DS writers borrowed only from literary works, you have only to check out "Horror of Dracula" on TCM this month, which was ripped off for at least 2 scenes), DS also offered the audience some very creative material, excellent writing, and often some superior acting, none of which PC could claim.

It's in your last post too now, which I see you haven't edited since starting this topic. [idontknow]

If it wasn't showing up before because of a temporary problem where it's stored, or MB's tinkering, then it must've been due to what MB and I have decided is resposible for things mysteriously appearing and disappearing here-- the forums are haunted.  :D
