who is Jordan Levin?
President of WB.  The network, not WB Television.

Apparently Jordan Levin and the WB have parted ways.  Variety is reporting that he was asked to take a reduced role and instead made the decision to leave.

Could his departure impact the fate of our show?
Hanscombe the butler was also the man whom Roger ran down and killed in 1956 and blamed Burke for.
I don't think the Collins butler was the hit and run victim.  There's a scene in which Sam and Vicki are discussing the portrait of Betty that he had painted years earlier, and he tried to remember the model's name starting with Hanson but settling on Hanscombe.  Maggie overhears and says, "Hanson?" and asks something like, "Isn't that the name of the guy that Burke killed?"  But Sam corrects her that it's Hanscombe, with a C, that they're talking about.  I think this is the only time the pedestrian's name is mentioned, so fans have accepted that the victim's name was Hanson, or Hansen.

I think the scene was written this way to segue into a discussion about Burke's conviction.

Thanks, Connie.  It's an honor just to be nominated.  :P

just posted a new avatar (a stunning headshot of GH in early early to mid 50s i'd say --but not coming across so well here. . .maybe have to retry.)

The size limit for avatars is 82X86.  Because the Grayson photo is proportioned differently, the width gets stretched to accomodate the vertical length.  There are 2 ways to get it to view correctly-- either resize the image to 82X86 (by trimming the top and/or bottom to match the above dimensions), or increase its width so that the image size is 82X86 but make the additional side areas transparent (so they vanish against the background).  If you prefer the latter but don't know how, message me and I'll see what I can do with it.

Current Talk '04 I / Re: Dr. Woodard and others

I was curious about why Dr. Woodard was recast, then I read in Robert Derringer's IMDB listing that he was recast because he refused to cross a picket line.  Does anyone have any other details about that?

Nelson, you might find the following discussion topic about Robert Gerringer interesting, starting with this post:

:o I thought I had entered a parallel time zone.  I was just reading a thread by Julia99 talking about Sept. 1967 and didn't realize it was posted in 2002 until after I read several of the posts!

Heh, heh.

The posting problem has been fixed, btw. ;)  Sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused.

We've got a problem on 3 of the boards (Current Talk, Robservations, and this one) but we're working to fix it.  Thanks for your patience!

The error message...Your last post less than 120 sec. ago from you IP, please try again, yada yada came up??

It wasn't a post, but an INSTANT message.

Subject: **Conversion Day is HERE!**, reply #17 sez:

"... I probably should explain that the 120 second limit on posting ... now includes any combination of posting and personal messaging.  In other words, after you send a PM you're required to wait 120 seconds before you can submit a post or send another PM, or if you start by making a post you then have to wait... you get the picture. ..."

Then, while the message was still there, I was watching the puter clock AND my watch; more than 180 seconds elapsed, still same message. >:(

Also there:

"BTW, if you get a 120 second limit error message, figure on having to wait another 120 seconds..."

The full message is on this board.

I'm not able to download it because it's too large.

You'll need to resize it first using graphics software.  There's usually an option under "Edit" or "Image", depending on the software you have.  After you resize it, select File/"Save as" so that you don't lose the original image.  Keep in mind that the image at 100% on your screen is how it's going to look on the forums.

I'm trying to print out the discussoin regarding the mansions (the link that takes us back to Raineypark's post) and it won't print. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'd like to study the drawings and comments at my leisure.
Thanks
 ;D

Hi, Miss_W,

The print feature seems to be working (the print page opens in a separate window, btw), but if you mean that you can't get the images in reply #1 to show up, all I can suggest is this--

Open a new page in MS Word or whichever software program you prefer
Return to the topic and place your cursor at the start of the text that reads, "If we're talking the most popular..."
Drag it until the entire post is highlighted, stopping at the end of, "has been restored/coverted into a culinary arts school.)"
Click Edit, Copy (or Control+C)
Return to the blank page and click Edit, Paste (or Control+V)
Print the page

You can do the same to any of the subsequent messages.

I have to say this in case other readers may not realize that we're talking about printing these for your own use, so please bear with me-- [disclaimer ;)]  DS Forums posts, including any comments or images, can be reproduced for private use only and many not reappear on a webpage, newsgroup, e-list, etc. without the written permission of the poster.  Even if the poster doesn't own a picture outright, it may have required their handiwork by nature of their having scanned, resized, captured, or somehow manipulated the image, and therefore reusing any image publicly or quoting a poster elsewhere without ASKING THEM FIRST is not allowed.  Thanks.  :)  [/disclaimer]

Hope that helped.  :D
