It is interesting to me that Carolyn and Joe started out as boyfriend and girlfriend when DS began because....
Later on in the show, it was revealed that Joe and Chris/Amy are cousins, and Quentin is their great-grandfather.  Quentin is Carolyn's great-uncle, so Joe and Carolyn are distant cousins!!
Hi, Sally!

I think there are a number of ways that Joe could be related to the Jennings family without his having a drop of Collins blood in him.  One possibility is that Lenore's son-in-law, a Jennings, was Joe's uncle on his mother's side, which would have made Chris and Joe first cousins.

Oh cool!  Thanks for pointing that out, Patti.

And I'm not going to say a thing about you perusing the personals.  No way, it's not gonna happen.   :-X

Renfield (Dracula) and Fritz (Frankenstein) were played by Dwight Frye in 1931.  It was Fritz who helped the doctor dig up the bodies, but he went alone to steal the brain.

Igor was a character in Young Frankenstein, but I think he was a humorous take on Lugosi's Ygor from Son of and Ghost of Frankenstein.

I'll be assembling my presentation clip tape in the next couple of weeks, so if there's a particular missing scene you'd like to see, post your requests on this thread, and I'll consider them...

Hi, Darren.  Here's my wish list--

The 1840 flashback-- my favorite.  Reading about it in the movie book isn't nearly as effective as actually seeing it... Angelique at the piano, wearing the dress that only exists elsewhere in a photo, and Laura exploding.

The picnic scene.

Quentin, in riding clothes (rowr), limps into the dining room.

Sorry to hear it didn't go over well the last time, but I'd like to again see Quentin painting in the tower room and making out with Angelique.  :)

Quentin finding Charles' resting (as if!) place.

The seance, definitely.  I love the shot from above, and Carlotta's sudden appearance and exit.

Hopefully I described these correctly.  Looking forward to it, whichever clips you choose!

BTW, and this is off-topic, but I was just reading wonderful things about your interview with Ian Ogilvy for "~~And Now the Screaming Starts", which aired on AMC the other night.  Will have to track it down.

Have a Happy Birthday, Devlin!

Darren, would this indeed take place on Friday as Jim suggested in his e-mail to me?

I'm glad you asked this!  It's also on the tentative schedule, and kind of a bummer since Friday nights aren't always as well attended.

I have a question regarding the recent (maybe 2 yrs ago) airing:  does anyone recall what station aired it?  I think it was AMC but can't be sure.  The airing was completely unscheduled ... people here were anticipating the Dan Curtis version, which is what the station had announed it was showing.  I know people here were disappointed at the time, but they actually were treated to a version that has been highly praised by critics and which many, many people would have given a lot to have known it was airing (people had been searching for the film or waiting for a re-airing for 30 years at that time).

Dan Curtis' FRANKENSTEIN airs Sat. 7/27 on AMC.

Midnite...if it's only about MB being a god...I had noticed that as soon as this newest board was running (a couple of weeks ago)?, but I don't think that's what you mean.

It's what I meant.  You've announced other changes in membergroups-- when you noticed that members reached junior, full, and senior status.  Ah well, sorry.

Anyway...I also don't think that what Midnite means is related to:

The only info on stats regarding mods is time online (here, in DS).

Not posting/not topic starting...just time online....

I was really talking about posting totals.  The totals for mods aren't listed on the stats page, but they're in our posts, profiles, PMs, and in the members listing.  As for top topic starters, I actually haven't started very many.

So, will the "God" title be male/female oriented?

Uh uh.

I''ve heard that before too-- the actor himself claims to have appeared on the show, but I honestly don't think he has in any of its versions.

A fan has offered the explanation that, because Chianese claimed to have played Abe Vigoda's boss or father on DS, but in the nighttime version (!), and since he did play alongside Vigoda in an episode of "Tales From the Dark Side", Mr. Chianese is confusing Dark Shadows with ...Dark Side.  We never saw the boss or father of either of Abe Vigoda's characters on DS, nor did he appear in the '91 version.

You can find that post from the DS Newsgroup here--
