I second that proposal!  [hello]

Classic Dark Shadows revisited article

No need to apologize, CastleBee.  Your effort to find it is MUCH appreciated.  The topic is on the Current Talk board and it won't come up in a search for Daily Texan (if that's what you tried) but will for dailytexanonline.

In his DVD Late Show column on Movie Poop Shoot, Chris Mills gives his take on Volume 17.  Halfway down the page, it begins, "And, speaking of vampires and Gothic horror..."

Don't let the logo and heading mislead you-- Mills calls DS "a surprisingly addictive diversion".  And how interesting that MPI provides DVDs for reviewers to sample.  In this instance, that garnered an online recommendation and created a new fan in the process.

I did several better captions but they seem to have gone off into some sort of oblivion.

Every one of your DS captions is on the board.  I just counted 36 captions attributed to your account.  They can be viewed by accessing your profile and selecting "show the last posts of this person".

The official site has pictures from the book signing.  Check under News on the Site for the link to a page of photos.

And don't miss the link to the photos from End Game.  Seriously, don't.  It's a new look for him, and I like it a lot.  :D

OT --

I'm not aware of ever having said anything on any message board in the past three years or so that I have been online, that any moderator has ever objected to.     I will not deny that I've done an occasional low-quality post, and I think this is due to sleep deprivation at the time (there are reasons for this), but this is true of everyone who has ever posted on the Internet.    An occasional non sequitur remark does the world more good than harm, besides.

I'm sorry that you've been sleep deprived.  It's a pattern of "non sequitur" remarks that led to my message, and I can't say I understand your surprise since you've not only called them "pointless" or "bad" in some of the actual posts, now you're describing them with a phrase that means "does not follow."  We're asking that you caption the picture in the topic, and that your off-topic posts be kept to a minimum.

If posts of mine have been deleted, that's disturbing.    I thought I'd found a welcoming place here, with some people with a somewhat similar outlook, and sense of humor.   I have certainly been no more off-color than others here.

You're very welcome to continue posting here, your opinions are valued, and it IS a place that appreciates a sense of humor.  Unfortunately, some of your attempts at humor aren't contributory to the discussion, such as the one quoted in my last post.  As for comparing your posts to others, any cousin whose posts are outside the guidelines will find their posts removed as well, and when the situation warrants, will hear from one of the mods.

I'm a well-intentioned person and whatever it is that some people may think I'm doing wrong, if any, I wish they'd wait and see what kind of person I really am, before coming to any sort of negative judgements.

No one here is seeking to judge you or your opinions.  We're only asking that you stay within the guidelines that you agreed to when you registered, and within the posted Caption This! rules-- in other words, please don't role play, keep your off-topic posts to a minimum, and caption the picture in the main topic.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to PM MysteriousB, dom or myself.

The last

did Kate mention DS or "The Rookies"?

She didn't.  She spoke about her own surgery to repair an atrial septic defect and other heart issues, and she mentioned her son.

didn't she have cancer?

Yes, she's a breast cancer survivor.  :)

A friend let me know that Roger Davis' 1973 McCloud episode "Butch Cassidy Rides Again" will air on WGN today (Thursday) at 8 p.m. Eastern, 5 p.m. Pacific.  Check your local listings for the time in your area.  Here's a description from Comcast--

A gang of doddering, Western-style outlaws is loose, holding up everything from banks to commuter trains.

RD aged.  And doddering.  :)

If setting your VCR, record for 2 hours.

I know it must be hard to choose the flubbed lines. I personally have never seen them. I have only read about them which was why it was hard for me to find them on tape.

Here's a good place to get help in finding them, DStoDA-- TVTome's Goofs and Nitpicks Guide.

THE EYES HAVE IT... Burke Devlin once became impatient with Dr. Woodard for not voicing his suspicions about a blood sample he'd examined under his microscope. The disgruntled Burke blurted, "All vou can do is sit there staring into that microphone!"

That didn't sound right to me but since no one else mentioned it I hesitated to say anything.  However, since TVTome provides the ep number for the microphone/microscope blooper (#242) I took a peek at the scene, and what Burke says to Woodard is:

"Maybe something, like a blood sample, when you examine it under the microphone, it doesn't show any mystery at all."

(That makes perfect sense.  Yeah.  ::))

Sorry!  But it's certainly not your fault that the webmaster misquoted the line.   :-
