**** DS EPISODES IN HALLOWEEN MARATHONS – DECADES TV CHANNEL
 
This past May, the new nationwide Decades TV channel, a collaboration between CBS Television and Weigel Broadcasting, aired 130 consecutive DS episodes as part of special pre-launch programming for Decades’ gradual roll-out in various markets across the country. ((Please see ShadowGram Updates #342 on 1-25-15 & #357 on 5-31-15. Also see the still-available Triple SG #124-#126 print issue.))
 
SG here shares details about the Halloween marathon. “Decades has now settled into its format of weekday themed blocks with a wide variety of vintage entertainment shows such as ‘I Love Lucy,’ ‘The Fugitive,’ and ‘The Brady Bunch,’ mixed in with documentary segments derived from the CBS News and Entertainment Tonight archives. On weekends, Decades continues showing marathons of classic series.”
 
Decades will be offering DS episodes over 2 weekends as part of its Halloween-theme marathons. Schedule follows.
 
--- Sat., Oct. 24 – 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific – continuing straight through to Mon., Oct. 26 at 7am Eastern/4am Pacific.

--- Sat., Oct. 31: 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific – continuing straight through to Mon., Nov. 2 at 7am Eastern/4am Pacific.
 
PLEASE NOTE: Standard Time returns Sun., Nov. 1, at 2:00:00 AM. Clocks are turned backward 1 hour to be Sun., Nov. 1, at 1:00:00 AM local Standard Time (with some location exceptions).
 
The marathon will include the same early Barnabas episodes from 1967 that were shown during Decades’ DS marathon last May. This is NOT a continuation from that May block.
 
Thus this marathon starts with Episode #210 (aka Episode # 7076 - #76 of 1967), originally aired 4-17-67: The vampire Barnabas is released from his chained coffin by treasure-hunter Willie Loomis.
 
The Decades Channel appears as a digital sub-channel for CBS affiliate stations in various cities. It also appears on certain cable systems. Please check your local listings.

**** DONNA McKECHNIE IN NEW DANCE THEATER MUSICAL IN  SAN DIEGO
 
DONNA (Amanda Harris, Olivia Corey) performs in the world premiere musical production IN YOUR ARMS, now through Oct. 25 at the prestigious Old Globe Theatre in San Diego .
 
Ten vignettes, each with specific performers, explore the theme of romantic love and the range of emotions it inspires. Set in various places and at various times, each is expressed through many different forms and styles of dance, with minimal dialogue. “Sand Dancing,” starring Donna and Oscar-winner George Chakiris (WEST SIDE STORY), is about a woman looking back at the memory of a long-sustained love.
 
The Old Globe Theatre is located at 1549 El Prado, San Diego, CA 92101.

Joe (1991 DS David, Daniel) stars in THE NIGHT BEFORE, a seasonal comedy film opening Nov. 20. His “Ethan” is one of “a trio of best friends who have spent the last 14 Christmases together. But as time has marched on and everyone has grown up (sort of), they’ve decided the upcoming holiday will be their final one together.” The 3 decide to go all-out for one night and “experience” every possible party and celebration they can in NYC, aiming to truly make it a holiday they’ll never forget.

**** DAVID SELBY: JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG” – AT UCLA – SEPT. 24-27
 
DAVID (Quentin) has just joined the cast for the classic drama JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG, the premiere show in the 2015-16 season for Los Angeles Theatre Works. The presentation of Abby Mann's stage adaptation of his 1961 Oscar-winning drama follows a U.S.-led war crimes tribunal weighing the fates of German judges after World War II.
 
LA Theatre Works website: “Judgment at Nuremberg” is “an absorbing probe of the ethics of personal responsibility versus public duty.” The LATW cast “performs without sets or costumes” while being recorded live, with live sound effects and audience response. The drama will be “broadcast later on public radio nationwide.”
 
There will be 5 performances: Thurs., 9-24 (8 pm), Fri., 9-25 (8 pm), Sat., 9-26 (3 pm & 8pm), and Sun., 9-27 (4 pm).
 
The shows will take place at the James Bridges Theater on the UCLA campus at Melnitz Hall, 235 Charles E. Young Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90095.

**** JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT STARS AS REAL-LIFE AERIALIST IN NEW FILM “THE WALK” – OUT SEPT.  30
 
JOE (1991 DS David, Daniel) portrays the renowned French high-wire artiste Philippe Petit in THE WALK, screening in IMAX and regular theaters beginning 9-30.
 
The film chronicles Petit’s solo 45-minute walk along a cable strung between the tops of the 110-story Twin Towers of Manhattan’s World Trade Center on Aug. 7, 1974. With no net, harness, or other safety gear, Petit carried only a 60-pound balancing pole as he covered the ¼ mile between the then-recently opened landmark towers.   
 
The movie embraces 3D and special effects technology but is based in Petit’s life and his determined drive to accomplish the feat. Joe met and trained with Petit at his home in upstate NY. The actual walk scenes were shot in-studio with Joe on a real cable 12 feet off the floor. Camera angles and post-production realistically re-create the sensations, experience, and immense distance of being alone on a narrow cable 1350 feet above the streets of New York City.

**** * UPDATE: NOTE FROM SG EDITOR,  MARCY ROBIN
 
SG Online Update #365 (8-25-15) explained that I’d have surgery the next day for a hole in the retina of my left eye, a recurring consequence of lifelong severe myopia (near-sightedness). The gas-fluid exchange us done entirely inside the eye under local anesthesia and requires a long, gradual healing process which restricts daily activities and more. I’m still recovering, adjusting, and coping. I can see somewhat with the eye, though it’s hard to read, type, etc. My vision should continue to improve in the coming weeks. My next check-up with my excellent surgeon is in mid-October.
 
When “all is well” with my eye and I’m settled into my life again, I’ll prepare the next print newsletter – SG #127 – for publication and have it ready to mail to all current subscribers as soon as I can
