Thanks so much, Joeytrom!  RobinV's summary for ep #371 will be restored in the coming days, but in the meantime here's an excerpt from it:

Quote
Vicki expresses surprise at Jeremiah's concern and affection for his nephew, which immediately makes him angry. He chides her for her strange, rude impressions, then yells that he and Barnabas are the same age and as close as brothers--don't ever say such a thing again!

there had never been any mention of this "first wife" ever from what i can recall.

Yes, 1897 was not only the first time his marriage to Laura came up, but also the first mention of any prior marriage; not even in 1795 when it's discussed that he was to marry Millicent for her real estate holdings.

Quote
i watched the first laura collins story some time ago but from what i can remember she had been l.murdoch stockbridge then l.murdoch radcliffe and was not a collins until she married roger(presumably sometime in the mid-1950's).

I think the characters in the present just didn't know that Laura Murdoch Radcliffe Collins was really Laura Murdoch Stockbridge Collins Radcliffe Collins.  Or something.   [hall2_huh]

Also, in an early 1966 ep, Laura is able to recognize Josette from her portrait even though she tells her son she hadn't visited the Old House before.

are there any thoughts/explainations that might help me out here?

Well, considering that Jeremiah's age in relation to Barnabas kept changing (in the present, Barnabas referred to him as middle aged, then in 1795 they were (as you said) the same age, and later in PT Barnabas was said to have been born in 1770 whereas Jeremiah's headstone in regular time said he was born in 1763... ouch!), I can't say I'm surpised that Jeremiah's marital history changed as well.  There's even a time when Barnabas mentions his "Cousin, Uncle Jeremiah."   [hall2_tongue]

I've always gone with the theory that Jeremiah married Laura when he was very young - maybe sixteen or so. The marriage was a bad one, surrounded by mysterious happenings, and was not really spoken of again. It was a sore subject and Jeremiah didn't like talking about it. That's why it was never mentioned in 1795. It had happened long enough ago that there was no point in bringing it up, and knowing the Collins family, the marriage was kept out of the history books.

I like this.   [hall2_cheesy]  Laura Stockbridge Collins died in 1785, and Barnabas stated that he first laid eyes on her when he was 10.  It's possible that she married Jeremiah between these years.  Though it does not explain how Laura would recognize Josette.  Ouch again.

Quote
Now, as for the age discrepancy, I don't think they ever said Jeremiah and Barnabas were EXACTLY the same age - just that they are around the same age. I could be wrong on that, but I don't recall them ever saying they were exactly the same age.

You've got me.  I thought it was stated they were the same age, but I'm at a loss as to where it was.  Anybody?

according to the d.s. almanac the exterior shots were filmed in newport, rhode island,scarborough,n.y.,tarrytown,n.y. and essex connecticut.so my guess would be that the shots of roger were in newport since that's right on the ocean.

Very good.  Yes, that's Newport's Cliff Walk.  (Though the word "cliff" is used lightly.)  Have you visited Newport, mscbryk?  If not, I think you'd really enjoy a visit to the mansion.

i read somewhere that this house burned to the ground in the late 1960's(probably shortly after the stills were taken).

I've heard it was in 1969 or 1970.

Last year, a group of us tried to find what little is left of Spratt House but failed.  Like one of Bobubas' visits, it was nearly disastrous.  But one of these days I'm going to get back there (during a season with less brush, I hope) to finally locate it.

I don't think anyone had a chance to bid on it this year, but I wasn't around on Sunday at the time it was to have been auctioned to be able to swear to it or tell you why that was.  (MB and I spent the time at the real Greystone instead.  [hall2_tongue])

A member of the Shadows list has pictures of the scale model on his website.  Go to Ron Janick's site-- http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ronbellajanick/my_photos and select the "DS Fest: [LA]..." link (top row at the end).  His thumbnails of the scale model are 6 rows down.

Here, the miniature is in 2 pieces (imagine them connected in the same order that you see them).  However, the tower that you see to the right of them in DS books such as Pierson's DS Resurrected is clearly absent.

How COOL.  I love the costumes, and you are such a cute witch.

First...you can't do words on same line as pics...I vaguely remember that.

You can.  But if you're referring to text that's outside of right align or left align code, then no, they won't display on the same line.  Unless you create a table, but let's not go there.   [hall2_wink]

Please don't count me, as I was a lucky recipient from the last time!  Thank you again.   [hall2_cheesy]

I highly recommend PennyDreadful's compilations.  And hey, I adore your album cover!  Congrats on getting a copy of "Vampire State Building."

I'm partial to "End of Time," my daughter likes "Witchcraft," and my son says the Oval Portrait song "doesn't suck."   [hall2_rolleyes]

I think we should to something appropriate to celebrate.  Here are some suggestions:  drink a can of Moxie [hall2_tongue](Maines official soda), eat a needham,  eat a whoopie pie,  buy a flannel shirt or gummy boots from LLBean, or come to Maine with all the other leafpeepers,  eat a lobstah roll,  say the word "ayah" to the first person you meet, etc.

A fantastic list, onyx treasure!

I didn't care for the way the writers had Willie taunting Adam, it was just so Igor like. It was also not very interesting, and didn't seem in character. They should have kept Willie the way he had become.

I think you mean Fritz, who got a kick out of tormenting the monster (a creature more wretched than himself) and eventually paid for it.  In both Frankenstein sequels, the mad Ygor treated the monster as a friend.

It's "Fearless Vampire Killers."  Looking forward to seeing it!  That's Eastern time, btw.

If you search the Forums for the full title (in quotes), you'll find at least a couple of more ties to DS.   [hall2_tongue]

The hardworking Martin Donovan joined Gould on "Weeds" this season as a [sorta] recurring character-- a single father who flirts with mom/dealer Nancy (Mary Louise Parker).  And his role is prominent in tonite's season finale.

"Weeds" airs on Showtime on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.  Check your local listings, etc.  Check it out!-- it's very addictive.   [hall2_rolleyes]

Donovan was Roger in the WB pilot.  Gould played David.
