You'd think some of the DS cast would turn up at one of these things.  I mean, why not, it's a seller's market and several of them already do the Comic Book shows.

The only DS-related guest listed is Beth Massie, co-author of Dreams of the Dark.  No Mark Rainey?

I'm surprised Lara Parker isn't attending again this year.  Her book tour seems to consist of only San Diego, Burbank and Brooklyn signings.

Here's the latest mention via a search for HorrorFind using the search feature at the top of this board:

Its Horrorfind. Here a link www.horrorfindweekend.com/state/maryland
Dates Aug 11-13. Some other guests include Denise Crosby, Priscilla Barnes, numerous zombies from the Romero films, Tony Todd, and Michael Rooker ("Henry:Portrait of  Seriel Killer") among others.

I am a total dork. I already started clothes shopping.

There's something dorky in that?   ;D

Quote
Since I bought my house I have done very little shopping for that kind of stuff so it was nice to have a reason to buy new stuff.

That is great!  I hope you'll bring photos of Teresawood to the Fest.  :D

I'm with J99 on the banquet debate.  If it's your first Fest, I heartily recommend purchasing a ticket.  I have very fond memories of my first banquet and am still in touch with nearly all the people at my table.  After you've become a Fest regular, you may want to arrange in advance to sit with no less than 9 other fans.  ( [wave] and [wink2] to my tablemates at last year's Fest.)

One glitch which I never see mentioned is one I think I only noticed  because its a fact I just happened to know.

In one of the last storylines, must have been 1840, Angelique is talking about her background and happened to mention being from Martinique, IN THE BRITISH WEST INDIES.   <jawdrp> <jawdrp]> Nice little adjustment of the Space Time Continuum there.    Would I have noticed that if my grandmother hadn't been born and raised in the British West Indies?  Who knows.

Is this what you're referring to?  Miranda is telling Barnabas what became of her following her exile from Bedford:
Robservations 11/17/03 - A Curse is Lifted - 1169-1170

I went to the West Indies, she says, long after that to Martinique, where I met Josette and finally you--but I always knew that someday Judah would return for me.

The only character that I think mentioned the British West Indies was Gabriel in 1840.  I'm not sure if the actor misspoke or that's how the line was written, but is this necessarily a blooper?  Couldn't Mirangelique have arrived in the British West Indies in 1692 and eventually settled in French Martinique by the time we meet her in 1795?

Kathryn Leigh Scott reads this Forum and says to herself, "Hmm...better not try to sell dear Jonathan's gall bladder at the Fest this year...but his toenail clippings should fetch a pretty penny!"

THE PEN, now living in penniless obscurity, reads this Forum and sighs, and deeply regrets having wasted all his Dark Shadows earnings on booze, gambling, and cheap magic markers.

Very funny, Lydia!

Hey, she sold his hair clippings one year, got several 100 for it as I recall, maybe even a 1,000 or more.  Go figure!  Some ppl will buy ANYTHING!  P.T. Barnum said it best, "There's a sucker born every minute!" ;)

The clippings raised $300 for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.  She told how she collected them and recently came across the envelope, said her brother is diabetic...

I knew Frid must have been prime selling material for her DS book as his picture is huge on the cover but ... I just hope he got something from it.

Ha!  Oops, was that my out loud voice?  ;)

Cool, Gothick.  Craig's site also shows the cover of the 1st printing of the paperback novel #1-- the one that used the painting.  From the home page of www.darkshadowsonline.com select COLLECTIBLES, then Books, and look for the the link for the Paperback Library series.   :)

Below it, #5 includes the painting again but with Barnabas added (though he doesn't appear in the story).

Fantastic interview, Stuart!

The painting that coterie-mc asked about can be seen at the end of the interview on the DS Journal page.

Current Talk '06 I / DS Bloopers & Treasures / was: DVD Volume 26

It is my recollection that ShadowGram has reported that bloopers will be contained on the special Dark Shadows DVD that is scheduled for release in November.
Apologies, I've been out of touch on here for a while.  Thanks for the info!  Where might I find more info on the the Special DVD slated for November?

...Exciting News of a Bloopers & Treasures CD on TVShowsOnDVD.com.

The paragraph begins with "Then, a couple of months later..."  And the cover art for DS Bloopers & Treasures is at the bottom of that page.

Happy Birthday

I hope you don't mind that I copped the colors from your butterfly peignoir.   [tngg]
