J is for President Lyndon Johnson.  He was in office during most of the series, and his photo is seen hanging in Constable Carter's office.

I hope she just happened to be around.    Or lives in town.

The cameo was recorded at the Festival hotel with one of the weekend's guests.

I'm assuming the writers were paying homage to The Premature Burial with Maggie's diagnosis.  Poe's narrator suffers from catalepsy (the medical term for catatonic seizures), which causes his heartbeat to be barely perceptible and his breathing to become "torpid, unequal, and vacillating;" thus his fear of being buried alive, yikes!

he says the nurse is a competant professional (who had trouble locating Maggie's heart)

Alondra, I paid closer attention to the replay of the nurse placing her stethoscope on the left side of Maggie's chest.  She placed it over the lung, beginning at the top, presumably to listen for breath sounds before checking for heart tones.  It's exactly what any competent nurse would do if there were no obvious signs of breathing nor a palpable pulse.

BTW, please check out this post:

I don't have anything to add about the ep except that I think KLS never looked lovelier.

I realize that these recent Robservations aren't the most detailed out of RobinV's summaries, yet occasionally the recaps by posters are repeating the same information they contain:
Quote from: ROBINV
He quickly offers an alibi to the two men--Willie came directly back to the Old House after calling on Sam that night, and had no time at all to make any phone calls along the way. And he, Barnabas, has no phone, so...
Quote from: Alondra
Barnabas tells them the call couldn't possibly have been made by Willie ... Willie was sent to the Evans cottage to tell Sam to come at midnight to work on the portrait and then he came immediately back home, there was no time for him to make a phone call either from the Old House or from a phone booth. And of course Barn has no phone at the Old House.

and sometimes other posters repeat it again within the same topic:
Quote from: ROBINV
Maggie wanders through the woods, wide-eyed, but looking less haggard and certainly more alive than she did the last time we saw her.
Quote from: Alondra
Maggie is in the woods somewhere, just walking as if in a daze.
Quote from: Jackie
We see Maggie roaming around, wide awake, going somewhere.

Please don't repeat the scene descriptions that are already in the Robservation linked to via the main topic, and the same for the descriptions that other posters have already provided.  Comments about the scenes, of course, are encouraged.  Thanks!

IIRC there was something posted SOMEWHERE about her little cameo. Maybe it was in the articles featured on Stuart's site.

The info was included in the second to the last ShadowGram email update, which, like you, referred to it as a very small part:
ShadowGram Update #164

...The Rage Beneath brings the series to a close, with a deadly spirit rising from the ocean on a vengeful mission. Robert Rodan guest stars in the story, which also features a cameo from Marie Wallace.

Since the discussion touched on (pun unintentional!) what may or may not have occurred behind the scenes, I'll remind about this guideline:

These boards are not forums for the spreading of gossip or innuendo, or the defaming of the DS actors' private lives. Comment on their public behavior, whether it be a personal appearance or in the course of some other form of public exposure (i.e. a talk show, Fest appearance, etc.) is perfectly acceptable, however.

An accepted source of personal information is a publication, i.e. Craig Hamrick's books.
