"As sad as they were that Dr. Woodard had died, Burke, Sam and the sheriff were desperately upset that it had happened so close to their annual trip to Self-Absorbia..."

P is for Peter Miller, the executive producer who I believed replaced Robert Cobert.

Do you mean Peter Miner, who took over when Robert Costello left?

O is for the one-armed ghost that was summoned by Nicholas and played by David Groh.

Fascinating, mscbryk.

so anyways by the standards of the day it's not outrageous that it was expected that vicki would leave her job as governess once she got married.it was a postion intended for a young unmarried girl.once married it was expected that she would have her own home and children to care for.

Then by this standard, shouldn't Vicki have postponed her wedding for David's sake?

Yeah, can't wait!

I was shown this blog yesterday, from a "description of the TV critics press tour panel on [TMYLM]" (she explained), that says:
"Now an even stranger question: 'Is there anything here that's CGI, or prosthetic?' Part two: 'Is Jane Alexander evere holding anything that isn't David Selby?'"

OMG

the wing had never been described as an "independent unit" before but just another part of the vast unused part of the house.

Exactly!  When David and Amy Spoiler:
fussed about sneaking out of the house with the toy chest, they marched, not directly to a separate entrance that served the West Wing, but down the main staircase and out the front doors of Collinwood (bypassing even the secret passage to the drawing room and the servant's entrance behind the staircase).

I understand Vicky's concern for David and her reluctance to leave him, but given the way David continually has problems of some sort or other, if I were she I wouldn't make getting married contingent on David being OK.  The thing to do would be to bring in a replacement now while Vicky's still there, and give her a month or so to settle in, and to see if David would take to her.

I have to say I'm with Vicki on this.  This time, David is seeing a psychiatrist who called him very disturbed, and the boy is having terrifying dreams, displaying a [seemingly] irrational fear of death, and focusing on an imaginary friend/ghost.  Replacing the significant persons in his life, and that includes Burke, probably isn't a good idea right now, though it can't be as detrimental as military school <sigh>.

The PT room is in the East Wing, so they would have been safe from that. But Quentin was in the West Wing.  ;)  Though without Chris and Amy around, he still might have remained dormant and Vicki and Burke probably would have had no reason the break down the false wall blocking the access to his room. Which is all too bad because think of how much more interesting it might have been to have had the Quentin storyline instead of the Adam storyline after Vicki's return from the past

Heh, heh.  Well, Burke did ask Liz if the West Wing had any Collins skeletons hidden away.  ;)

That was a great scene between Barnabas and Dr. Woodard, though.  That sure was an awkward pause - I guess somebody forgot his lines? [idontknow]

When the same dialogue was taped for the beginning of #338, Turgeon not only spoke his line without the awkward pause, but his head didn't block Frid.   ^-^

When Liz described the West Wing as an independent unit, what did she mean?  What comes to my mind is a kitchen, private entrance, and separate servants' quarters, but I doubt that's it.  I'm sorry, but its own sitting room and bath doesn't cut it for homeyness.  And we all know who their maid would be.  ::)

Could the tower room be the same set that they used for Davids room.
I'd be willing to bet his crystal ball that at least most of David's room is there.

The 2nd floor of the Carey Mansion/Seaview has a circular bedroom inside its tower.  I think its windows are its best feature, and upon entering, you can't help but be reminded of David's room.  (The first time I saw it, everyone in my group [Nancybe, Nicky, Gothick, Selby D. Pearson, PostCool1, etc.] said they'd want that bedroom if given the choice.)  The upper floor of the tower, on the other hand, was never a sleeping room until recent years-- it was originally used for storage, then was locked up for years, and has now been converted to a dorm room for Salve Regina students.

Anyway, I think there's a scene in the show that uses the tower as an establishing shot before cutting to the action inside of David's room, as if David's room and the tower room are the same.  But of course just because these sets share the same windows doesn't mean they're the same room, though I believe David's bedroom at Collinwood is directly below the tower room.
