Current Talk '08 I / Re: Drinking in Collinsport
« on: April 09, 2008, 08:30:24 PM »
Spoilers:

Judith gulped down a brandy when Minerva's ghost was dogging her, and I'm pretty sure she had a drink to celebrate her inheritance,  And was going to have one to celebrate getting rid of Gregory-- all good reasons, lol.  But through most of 1897 she was a spinster who nagged others for their drinking.  Jennifer, could you have meant Naomi?

It's getting to be like a 1795 Reunion at Collinwood.  We've got Barnabas, we've got Angelique, we've got Josette, we've got Naomi - sort of - and we've got Trask.  Not to mention Ben writing through Professor Stokes's hand, and a couple of views of Joshua a few weeks back.  Do they get commemorative knickknacks like keyfobs and pencilholders with "1795-1968" printed on them?

Snort.

This juxtaposition apparently confused the staff, since Trask's name doesn't appear at the end.  I could see if they credited Naomi instead of Liz or Angelique in place of Cassandra, but Tony Peterson wasn't even in the episode.

The sobber not only doesn't sound like KLS, it sounds like a dude.

Well that's my hole poking for the day.  [ghost_grin]

I was glad to hear her shriek in fear when Trask raised that flame up against her at the end of the episode.

That was awesome.

I take back what I said the other day about Cassangelique cutting her minions some slack by not using them for the dream curse.  Liz was tortured mercilessly, Tony barely escaped having to fall in love with her, and Roger... he had to be married to her.  Having the dream seems like a picnic compared to what she set out to do to those three.

If anyone knows or finds other specific episodes with explicit references to Liz'zs 18 years, please post the episode numbers.

If you perform an Advanced Search for "18 years," quotation marks included, of only the Robservations (open "Choose a board to search in" and check only that box), you will see lots (and lots) of references to it.

Also, when Liz finally does leave Collinwood, is any mention of it made?

A huge deal is made of it, as you can see here--
Robservations 11/27/01 - #259/ ...

Enjoy!

Though one does wonder why he felt he had to drag down DS (or anything for that matter) to make it...  ::)

So true.  But at least he recognizes what may be (I think it is) the best show on TV now-- Battlestar Galactica.   [ghost_cool]

Current Talk '08 I / Re: Early songs in The Blue Whale

There was an instrumental version of a Beatles song in the background at the Blue Whale in one of the early episodes.  The tune might have been 'Yesterday' but I'm not sure.

Also "Michelle."

The blue-screening on Kathryn Leigh Scott today was very well done.  I had no idea that Josette was going to disappear.

Agreed, but that wasn't KLS-- it was Natalie Norwick, who also played the mute ghost of Ruby Tate at Barnabas' recent "trial."  Which is weird, I know, since KLS was in this episode and did the sobbing.

Every so often, I'm able to say an actor's line before they do, and I'm not talking about the scenes that stand out for me so much that I know them by heart.  After Willie told Julia about Adam, she looked so confused and clueless that as I watched this I said, "If only Barnabas were here" a moment before she did.  I'm not psychic (that would be MB ;)), but it was a case of the writing in the episode seeming so out of character for Julia that they practically telegraphed the line beforehand.  Then, Willie was able to convince her that killing Adam was their only option, and suddenly THAT struck me as something they really ought to consult Barnabas about.  I was happy to see that Julia got her brain back by the final scene.

I've never found an appropriate place to say this--

Quentin Collins.... the wolf that walks like a man.... and the rest of the time, the man that drinks like a fish...

I'm glad you finally said it!

Current Talk '08 I / Re: Dark Shadows Episodes ~ The Werewolf

Its either in a jail or Inn ( I'm leaning towards jail ) and all you hear is the gutteral noises of the werewolf stalking someone. You see that persons reaction ( look of horror and amazement ) but not the werewolf itself.

If it's the Collinsport Inn, it's probably poor Mr. Wells who was surprised by Chris.  You're still covered with Collection 11, and I think your memory of the events is pretty good.

There are two scenes that are very fresh in my memory althiough I'm sure innacurate  [ghost_cheesy]

Elizabeth is in her coffin trying to press an alarm button after she is buried alive and wthe werewolf is attacking Carolyn (?) and Barnabas comes to her aid.

That's 672, with Chris Jennings as the wolfie.

You're welcome.

I think 698 & 699 are in Collection 13.

A few websites don't list 976 (the wolf attacks Bruno, hee) on the correct DVD, or in the case of MPI's own site it isn't listed at all.  But for sure #976 is included in Collection 19, which has #942-981.

I probably should've mentioned there are eps in which the wolf isn't actually seen, or doesn't appear in the flesh (like my avatar).  But the DVDs so far are a great start.  [ghost_grin]
