Cassandra Blair, do you recall how we came up with a solution to the question of Victoria Winters' parentage?

I confess I don't remember the details, though I think I transferred and saved those posts on my laptop.  I recall that one aspect to my explanation hinged on the Betty Hanscomb picture and the inspiration I believed the writers (probably Francis Swann) drew from Wilkie Collins' "The Woman in White."

The clues we're given at this early point seem to tell a simple story-- one ghost (Quentin) is working to lure the children to him, and the other (Magda) is responsible for the efforts to stop them.  I feel the voiceover informing us that "two angry spirits are in conflict" removes additional ghosts from the equation at this point, but that's me.

I strongly suspect it's Magda who is using Jamison's name to reach the adults.  I doubt Quentin would chance rousing their suspicions anyway.  But perhaps the book and mirror writing were attempts to alert the older Collinses to David's activities, all because Magda has zeroed in on his resemblance to a young Jamison and the fact that Jamison [spoiler]was David's age when Quentin died.[/spoiler]

Speaking of this introductory period, does anyone know anything about this week's guest director, Penberry Jones?

The Dark Shadows Festival will be presenting The Dark Shadows Resurrected convention over the weekend of August 14-16, 2009, at the Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel, 1000 Spring Street, Elizabeth, New Jersey, 07201.

The hotel is just five minutes from the Newark Liberty International Airport, which serves domestic and international flights for the entire NYC/New Jersey/Pennsylvania area and beyond. The hotel is less than half an hour from Manhattan-New York City by train.

Our extra-special guest of honor will be Jonathan Frid. Also scheduled to appear are John Karlen, Lara Parker, Kathryn Leigh Scott, Marie Wallace, and other guests to be announced.

Barbara will be sitting next to film director Roger Corman, who directed her in the 1960s movie adaptation of "The Pit & The Pendulum," co-starring Vincent Price. A review of using bulletin board code tags:

Formatting changes are made by using a pair of tags, each enclosed in square brackets.  The closing or second tag begins with a /, similar to HTML tags.  When the boundaries of the tags overlap (in other words, you wish to make more than one formatting change to the same text), you can nest the tags, but in order for them to work properly in SMF, the sets of pairs must appear in descending order; this, for example, is correct placement of nested tags:
[color=red][size=10pt]TEXT[/size][/color]The ordering of the tags on each side of the text is a mirror image.

This, however, is NOT correct:
[color=red][size=10pt]TEXT[/color][/size]
Also NOT correct:
[color=red][size=10pt]TEXT [color=yellow][size=15pt]TEXT[/size][/color]because each tag does not have a corresponding closing tag.
