That image makes me mourn the many pretty bunnies that died in order to make Bruno's coat.

Oops, I didn't pass the info along correctly.  Geraldo was part of the news team but not as an anchor.  Bad Midnite.  [snow_embarrassed]

A friend tells me that the WABC-TV in NYC evening news anchors that DS would have had to make way for would have been Roger Grimsby, Bill Beutel and Geraldo Rivera ::).

 [lghy]

I've read that they taped the show as fast as they could before the news had to come on. Lights, camera, action! Change the sets! Roll em!
"This is Walter Cronkite and that's the way it was."

That would be heresy.  Cronkite was on CBS.  ;)

It's good to hear Quentin's voice again (in Selby's first v.o.).

If Barnabas notices the resemblance of Trask, then he should comment on the resemblance of the others.   He never says Rachel looks like Maggie only Josette.

Not necessarily.  Trask's is one of those resemblances that we're supposed to notice, and the explanation for it is forthcoming.  OTOH, it's probably a good thing that Rachel's resemblance wasn't emphasized more, but that's all I'll say about it now.

I had it in my head that Gregory came off better in his first episode.  But now I see we actually do get clues that this new character is an arrogant and sexist control freak.

Garth, many examples can be found on the Forums.  You could try a search of the discussion boards, maybe with KLS, errors, and book as search words.

alwaysdavid, I'm thrilled you're enjoying it too.

Spoilers for Laura's timeline:

Laura Murdoch Radcliffe was buried in the old part of the cemetery in 1867.  But Laura Murdoch Stockbridge (d. 1767) was buried in the Stockbridge crypt.  (The Laura who married Jeremiah not too long after this was, I believe, also a Stockbridge, but please don't ask me to explain THAT.)

I don't actually have the years of their death memorized, but I know they died 100 and 200 years, respectively, before the Laura Murdoch Collins who died in 1967.

In the previous episode Barnabas says that the incense will return Quentin to the grave and then today he changes his tune and says that as long as Angelique controls him he will not rest which he should have realized from the beginning.

The burning incense returned him to the coffin, but Barnabas knew it wouldn't be a permanent rest, so cement was added atop a deep grave to keep him in there (which seems cruel coming from someone who had a cross affixed to his coffin lid, but probably not since zombies have no feelings).  Big chunks of cement, like puzzle pieces, can be seen around the coffin while Quentin is placing Rachel in it, so I guess Barnabas underestimated Angelique's determination to use Quentin against him.

Who knew they had Quick Dry Cement in 1897?!

While Sandor and Quentin struggled in the graveyard, behind them are the tombstones of Laura Murdoch Radcliffe and Jeremiah.  The latter seems especially appropriate, since Jeremiah has some experience at tossing young ladies into his own grave.  [snow_smiley]

Does anyone else besides me *like* this zombie plot?

The voiceover in this one is insanely good.  Kudos to Violet Welles.

Is Angelique in competition with Barnabas to make huge changes to the future?  Zombie Quentin could have killed Carl, or given Judith a heart attack!  But I'm always fascinated when the victims of slow-moving "monsters" cannot evade them.  Just run already!

While Judith and Rachel waited upstairs for the men (!!) to get Quentin back in the coffin, a reference to the children would have been nice.

I wonder who it was that watched "I Walked With a Zombie" and decided they had to use it... IF that's what happened.  Nice research in choosing a mix of cypress and myrrh to attract and mollify the zombie.

Judith is at times reminiscent of Elizabeth, and Rachel evokes Maggie right down to the mannerisms, but John Karlen has managed to make Carl quite the card and he never once breaks character.  MB put a capture of Carl in the Robservations (while Quentin is getting back into his coffin) with both hands clasped over his mouth as if he needs them to stifle his own screams.  Too funny!

Um... why did Barnabas say that using cement was the only answer if he didn't want it used on Quentin's grave, and for that matter why mention the cement at all?  And why did he tell Judith, "It doesn't seem that Quentin was meant to die that way"?  I know he's supposed to be desperate, but he's blurting out one stupid thing after another.

And Petofi's box is now in the hallway in 1897, and we see yet another location of Rachel's room.

Sorry, that was long.  But as alwaysdavid said, a lot is happening!

Ha!  Yeah, "Do not lean on The Doors."  [snow_wink]

Oh, it's no problem.

How can anyone hate The Doors?  [scratch]

I just noticed that Violet Welles penned the ep, which I should've realized anyway considering the bizarre symbolism in Rachel's dream.  Two other surreal dreams penned by VW (Violet, not Vicki) that come to mind are Pansy Faye's act in Carl's dream, and of course Jamison's chilling birthday party dream.
