TOPIC: Cutting and Pasting

What's not allowed is using your right-click mouse button to copy/paste.  But you can still highlight and use the copy or paste options in your browser's dropdown menu under Edit, or if you prefer keyboard shortcuts you can use the Windows hot keys Ctrl+C or Ctrl+V respectively.  Hope that helped.

The Testing 1, 2, 3 board-- it's a good thing. [smlyb]

My tapes are bad....did KLS say Jenny lies "nearly" dead or "newly" dead?

RobinV quotes it as "newly dead."  There's a link to her summary in the main topic of every WP.

I didn't carry a memory of Gregory from the 60s, though I know I was glued to this storyline.  But I do vividly recall the fear and anger that his great great (one too many greats, for sure) grandfather inspired in me.  But why one made such an impression on me and not the other, I'm not sure.  I was blissfully unaware there were pedophilic priests for one thing.

If by not being able to reply to PMs you mean that you're getting the 120 second error message, then it's not a matter of PMs vs. replying but a result of trying to perform one of the tasks that's covered by the 120-sec rule before that amount of time has passed.

As mentioned in the linked topics, after signing in to your account you must wait 120 seconds before you can reply to a post, start a new topic, or send a PM.  And all of these board tasks require a 120 sec wait before repeating the same task or performing a different one.

Since you were able to post as a new topic at the time you submitted the message, you were also able to reply or respond to PMs.  It was a matter of timing.

There are quite a few posts explaining the 120 second error; the following topic on this same board is one of these explanations (see the thread for more) and is called "The 120 Second Posting Rule"--

Though the simple explanation is that 2 minutes need to pass after logging in before you try to submit a post/send a PM, and 2 minutes also need to pass between submitting posts/sending PMs.

There's additional info on it here--

the 120 second limit on posting...

Since Angelique in this time is privy to all the goings-on at Collinwood, where the heck is she now that Barnabas has a powerful enemy?

Nice shot of the boom mic as Dirk entered the drawing room.  Later, the backwards slide of CW again.

The secret room in the Old House is still to the right of the fireplace.  But don't count on it always being there.

Laura arrived wearing a shawl but her hooded cape was mysteriously added when she stepped outside with Dirk.  And then the cape was gone again, though the time to wear it would have been during her nighttime visit to the graveyard, no?

Laura's dress seemed very modern to me and was showing a lot of skin for a person who is supposed to be a proper lady even though she's not.
LOL  It was such an odd choice-- the hemline not quite floor-length, and the plunging neckline that couldn't hide her black lace bra despite the silly flowers.  And then that ever-present shawl hiding her arms... the dress was so wrong that I can't help but wonder if it was a last-minute replacement for something else.

It seemed to easy to find Ben Stokes diary at the old house.
Let's see-- we learned in #510 that Ben wrote a memoir that ended up in the hands of his ancestor, though important chapters were missing.  He wrote a cryptic diary that ended up in a trunk in the secret room.  And he wrote another diary that was buried with him.  Could it be that Ben created records of his life that are all over the place?  I mean geezus, once he learned to read and write there apparently was no stopping him!

Did Barnabas cause the storm?  [scratch]

Beth was specifically instructed to insure she leaves.
I'm not sure that Beth was actually given the instructions to lock up after Laura left.  I thought that comment and the one to Laura that she couldn't stay were her desperate attempts to get rid of her because it was nearly dawn and raggedy Quentin might be stumbling in like he did the day before.  Laura said about it, "You take it so personally. How strange."

Hmm, I could see Edward showing his bride around the abandoned Old House and sharing its secrets with her.

Since Barnabas was face to face with the werewolf long enough to study it, wouldn't it have been a hoot if he'd recognized that, except for the different clothes, it's identical to the one in 1969?  [ghost_wink]

Laura's comment that what she and Jamison must go through to get there will be well worth it is further confirmation that the Phoenix's death by fire is not a pleasant experience.  But if it enables her children to go to a beautiful world filled with sunshine and special people, why is it that Vicki [spoiler]was able to communicate with David Radcliffe's spirit during a seance?[/spoiler] Is Laura lying about the other world?

And what does her mention to Jamison of "just the three of us, just as it was when you [and Nora] were little, darling, only better" mean?  Are we supposed to take it literally, meaning that Edward wasn't always around?

LOVED this line by Laura, after opening the cottage door to Edward, who's holding a rifle:  "You've come here to kill me?"
 [ghost_cheesy]

Then she sends word to Nora (via scarab mail) to come to her now... while a wild animal is loose on the property!  Bad, bad mothering.

Barnabas now decides the reason why he is here is because of Chris because there is a werewolf at Collinwood in that time.  Apparently saving David has flown right out of his mind

I don't think he has forgotten David, or believes that Chris is his only reason for being there.  The 1897 ww is his first tangible tie-in to future events, so he decided to focus on that for now.  I think his line, "For the first time, I know why I'm here" refers to finally finding something in this time that he can effectively change.

LP does the voice over, seems she’s speeding through it for some reason.

That was Diana Millay and her usual way of speaking.  LP isn't in the ep.

At the werewolf runs out we are able to see a person off to the right appearing to be waiting to go onstage in another scene.

LOL, I totally missed that until you pointed it out.  (Is it in Bloopers?)  From his clothes, I'm guessing stagehand.

I have a problem with a werewolf who turns doorknobs.

I often wonder, who if anybody, was in charge of continuity.  They must have had someone checking scripts as they came in  since they had different writers assigned to them.

That would be the head writer, who is responsible for the story outline.  But unfortunately, the behavior of vampire victims was never consistent.  And I couldn't agree more about Barnabas not taking better advantage of his connection with Charity.

One thing that was consistent-- the use of the same set for the House By the Sea (now the Trask school) that they had when it was seen in modern time in #298 (one of MB's screen grabs):

Re: Here is a new game, what room is this, and what else

(since the budget doesn’t cover the butler who would have been  there)

Wasn't Hanscomb the only butler that the family had in regular time?

And isn’t this the 2nd night in a row that Edward is out dining with Barnabas at the Old House?  That was what was said the first night Quentin wolfed out, too.

Edward was at the Old House (it was just after 10 p.m. when Charity phoned Collinwood) but we don't necessarily know he was there for dinner again.  LOL about the food taster.

As I said, I offered the answer originally, so I know what it covered--

D is for dog.  David once had a dog named Dog.  We never saw a dog but often heard them.

Posts in the Alphabet Game, like Robservations, can be searched.  And another D word is needed.
