Ha ha, this time we see Tim fill her cup with water instead of tea.  There were 2 pots, and in the previous ep he chose the one that actually poured tea.  When Minerva needed hot water to dilute her cuppa, she used the same pot containing water.

For Sally, who seems to be cataloging bloopers, Evan called Rachel "Miss Shaw" before correcting himself.  (It's something I do ALL the time.  I even get my dog's and kids' names mixed up.)

1. The house at Peabody's Farm in which Tim took refuge was also called Seaview.  Seaview was the house that, in 1967, Burke bought from Elizabeth because Vicki loved it so much. (I got this from Pansyfaye on the Dark Shadows Festival website Daily Trivia page, so I'm assuming that it's correct. Was it also Nicholas's house?)

Did the Festival site actually say all that?  We saw Seaview-- Vicki's ideal love nest, and it was a large two-story house (Barnabas explored the upper floor and returned with a handkerchief), with nothing mentioned about it having been a farm house.  The picture of the Peabody Farm house is of a small, one-story mess.  Also, a clause in the deed for Seaview dated back to around 1872 and stated that it had to remain in Collins hands for 100 years, which is why Burke did NOT buy it.  OTOH, the Peabody house (where's Sherman? [winkb]) was said to be near the Collins estate, but unless something is said in a later ep, I haven't heard anyone mention that it's actually a part of the family estate.

And no, it won't become Nicholas' house.  Again, the exteriors are nothing alike.

And speaking of Nick's house...
It was interesting to see Evan in Nicholas' old House by the sea, even though, it looks a whole lot different on the inside.
Do we know that?  I thought Evan lived in town someplace.

I don't think we can know that for sure.  I'm assuming that alwaysdavid is referring to the new school being called "a house by the sea," but it seemed to be a common name used on DS.  Even Collinwood has been called that at one time or another.  Seaview, mentioned above, was also called the house by the sea.  If reused sets are any indication, an area in the new Trask school does match the interior of Seaview.  So I think it's more likely that the new school is Seaview, but that's not a surety either.  Magnus, what we know about Nicholas' house is that it belonged to the Collinses, it was isolated, and there were woods between it and town.

I can't get Chiller anyway (David announced a while back that "The Sixth Sense" was airing on the channel), but there's an ep of the series that I'd really like to see again in which a psychic experiment results in a character going through a door into the past and accidentally bringing Jack the Ripper's spirit back with him.  Or something.  It was very reminiscent of Barnabas' time trip to 1897.  In my mind, the I-Ching also played a part, but I saw TSS so long ago that I could be mixing the two shows in my mind.

Since he couldn't take Abe to LA with him, a tearful Conan O'Brien-- in his final Late Night show-- released Abe into the wild (Central Park, actually) to be with his own kind, lol.  Abe turned around once as he was leaving and Conan yelled, "No, just go!"  Later in the show, he said Abe was in his backyard chewing on a bone.  Too funny!!

It was not the first time we saw Barnabas use a shovel.  He helped bury zombie Quentin.  Like you, what I thought seemed odd was that he was doing the work by himself, but that could be my memories playing tricks.  [smlyb]

He does that a handful of times, and it always seems 'wrong' somehow, how I'm not sure...  In DS theology, someone can be cursed, which seemingly includes being cursed in relation to God, being denied any favor from Him, being denied Heaven, yet the curse is made by an evil character with no input or approval from God.   That just adds to the tragedy of course.

I could be very mistaken, but I think Barnabas had been cured during the times he said it before this.  Because the curse had been drained from him by Adam, that seems to make a difference, and what you say here goes a long way in explaining it.

I think it's a big oversight on the writers' part that he says "Oh my God" again in 1897 not long after [spoiler]he committed murder.[/spoiler]

I guess it's debatable if his saying the name of God (or Lord; same thing) later in the series after [spoiler]he's been re-cursed[/spoiler]feels wrong or not since some fans feel he has done much to redeem himself by that point.

EW updated this list last month-- I'm assuming due to the recent popularity of True Blood and Twilight (now photos #1 & 2, sigh)-- so now it's 13 Great Pop-Culture Vampires.

Unfortunately, the info on Barnabas could still benefit from some fact checking.

Thanks for the heads up, Taeylor Collins!

Games / Re: The Dark Shadows Alphabet Game

Sorry, another Q word is needed.  As posted before:

By definition, this game is about things connected to DS. We have allowed outside roles/projects connected to DS actors, but if we open the game up to the names of actors/actresses/personnel who've merely worked in some capacity with DS actors/staff but have no other connection to DS, that's opening up the game far beyond its scope. After all, this isn't a Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, er, DS type of game.  ;)

How lucky for Barnabas that Dirk dug up a coffin from the old cemetery, leaving the hole for him to deposit Pansy Faye's body.  And how fortunate that Barnabas discovered it earlier.  It's not like he had the time (less than an hour!) to dig one himself.

So Minerva thinks Carl is a better suitor than Tim.  I guess that status and connections are a priority for the Tr ask family.
LOL, apparently.  She said that Tim doesn't have the proper leadership qualities.  And he's too different from Charity's father.  So she's backing Carl instead because he'd make such a great leader, and he's sooo like Gregory. ... To quote ROBINV, "Are you kidding me?"

Clarice Blackburn was really, really good in this ep.

I know there are some who dislike Roger Davis. (Midnite, I'm talking to you!) But I like him. I think he does a fantastic crazy person!  [ghost_wacko]

Heheh.  It's too bad he couldn't get treatment for that instead of bitten.  Then we could say the ham got cured.

Pansity mentioned not seeing K. Frye in anything else, so in case anyone is interested, here's the bookstore scene from Shamus with Burt Reynolds and I'm certain this is our busty Pansy Faye.

She doesn't even tell him what her name is before their offscreen booty call.  LOL

When Carl announced the world famous mentalist to the room, was anyone expecting Simon Baker?  No?

I'm not sure I'd let Carl drive me anywhere.  Even just to the big house and back.

I wish we could've seen more of Kay Frye.  I wonder if Pansy Faye originally stuck around after Judith made it clear that she was cutting Carl off financially, putting a serious crimp in her retirement plans.  While Carl seemed very taken with her, Pansy seemed a little too impressed with the idea of living in a "castle" to not be a gold digger.  And she already got a taste here of life with Judith the Ice Queen.

I have to comment on the vivacity of the “color” in 1897!  LOVES IT!

I guess B can't sense other vampires or smell them?  I guess that is not part of the DS lore.
Not even when he's kissing her hand and staring into her blue eyes.  [wink2]  (I think you mean vividness, btw.)

Does anyone know what “CHAEZ” is as far as Germany, Scottish, etc!??
Spanish or Portugeses according to: http://genealogy.about.com/library/surnames/c/bl_name-CHAVEZ.htm

I love that couch that Carl and Judith are on.  Does anyone know what kind of couch that is called?
[ghost_smiley] You can start reading here--
I'm curious as to what that crazy turn-of-the-century piece of furniture is called, the one where three people can sit facing different directions and still talk to each other. ...

If I ever die and become a vampire then get better then go back in time and try to create a vampire to take the heat off of me for being a vampire then find he's already died and I and my victim have to go searching the grounds for him 'cause he died too early, the one thing that could put a crimp in all that is for a dweeb and his feather boa mentalist to turn up and invite me to their wedding.
[lol2]

I think Barnabas has the power to make one a vampire or just let them die.  Whatever he may choose!
Though that wasn't true for[spoiler]Roxanne in 1840.[/spoiler]

NOW Beth talks about all the places there are to hide on the estate.  And she and Quentin didn’t think of ANY of these to lock wolfie up at the full moon.
But what place would HOLD him?  This werewolf seems very adept at opening doors and getting through windows.

Quote
Ok, I didn’t recognize this place that Barn took Beth – anyone have an idea why Barn figured it out?
That was the old cemetery.  I guess it fit the bill of "some secret dark womb that will keep [Dirk] safe," not to mention that it was Barn's secret sleeping place and was his choice recently (if you call 70+ years in the future recent) when he needed a place to keep Chris safe during the full moon and beyond.

I was VERY surprised to hear vampire Barnabas say, "Oh my God!"
